~•Amara•~
I saw her bobbing her head up and down. I was about to continue when I heard a light knock on the door which made me snap my head to my left.
It was a good thing that I had locked the door before proceeding further with my spell. I didn't want to risk being caught by my roommate. I knew that she had a habit of leaving her keys in the room and barely kept them on herself, so I thought to use that for my own benefit.
"Hold on! I am coming." I spoke at the top of my lungs just to bring it in the person's knowledge that I was in here.
Turning my attention to the mirror before me, I gave my reflection an apologetic look. "It's time for you to leave, sorry." I muttered an apology under my breath even though my subconscious self was least bothered by it. But it felt bad every time I had to undo the spell. Maybe because it was the only time I paid any attention to it.
In two long strides, I covered the distance between us and once again placed my palm flat on the mirror. Staring back at her smiling face, I muttered the spell once again to undo it.
"Esparta de cruzeta."
Red translucent flames engulfed my hand as a black shadow shrouded the mirror which soon dispersed into the surroundings. I stared back at my reflection which now had an expressionless face instead of the mocking smile from earlier.
Once I was sure that the spell had done its job, I walked towards the door. A loud clicking sound made its way into my ears as I turned the lock below the handle.
"I am coming." I spoke up once again as I turned the door handle even though I could hear no sounds coming from the other side. I couldn't help but wonder since when did Dana start to become so quiet?
I was provided with an answer to the question itself the moment I opened the door ajar. There was no one there. I stood rooted to the spot completely baffled by the fact that there was no one there.
Taking a step forward, I turned my head to look at the right end of the corridor only to see it completely empty. I couldn't help but draw my eyebrows together as I turned my face on the other side to look at the left end only to meet with the same result.
I was starting to doubt myself that I was starting to lose my mind, and it was just me hearing things as I stared ahead at the greenery.
Tall lush green trees were waiting to be engulfed by bleakness as the Sun was about to take another dive into sea any time soon. Orange yellow hues marked the bluish sky along with a tint of pinkish purple shades which could serve as blush for the blank blue vast canvas.
It was a good thing that my door room was located on the backside of the girls' dormitory and faced the forest. I could always enjoy a chunk of nature without disappearing from my dorm room for long hours. It was better this way than going to the cliff every day without informing my roommate about my whereabouts.
"You have lost your mind, Amara." I muttered under my breath as I took a step back inside the room. With my hand resting on the door handle, I was about to shut it close, but halted my actions midway when my eyes trailed down to the floor.
A folded piece of paper was lying on the floor with a marble stone placed on top of it acting as a paper weight. Just from the way how neatly it was placed, it was obvious that someone had deliberately left it there.
As for who? I didn't know as there was no name, or maybe there was. I couldn't tell as it was so properly folded down the middle. I let my eyes roam around the corridor once again only to get the same result. Not a single soul was wandering around on either side of it.
Shrugging my shoulders, I decided to pick it up just to have a look at the receiver's name. There were high chances of it being for Dana in comparison with my zero. But since life sure had found its way to amuse me more than one time, I was leaning towards the zero.
I was trying to be a little optimistic as my subconscious had suggested to me. Though the word alone was enough to leave a bad metallic taste in my mouth, and give my stomach a whirl.
I picked up the marble rock and slid it into the pocket of my trousers before picking up the folded piece of paper. I was about to head back inside but what laid under the paper, forced me to stop in my tracks.
It was a small crystal container which could easily fit in my palm. The inside of the container was filled with a yellow fluid, or semi solid paste which made the container give off a yellow halo.
"Let's take you inside first." I muttered to no one in particular as I picked up the small container and finally headed back inside.
I settled down on my bed and folded my legs up so that they were not dangling off the bed. Putting down the crystal container next to me, I unfolded the paper and let my eyes roam over the golden cursive letters. As there was no name mentioned on top of the note, I began to read it under my breath.
"The paste will help with your injury and fast forward the healing process. It might sting a little bit in the beginning, but I am sure that you can handle it.
Take care of yourself!
I look forward to seeing you tomorrow.
Aden."
