Chereads / angelwings / Chapter 42 - 42 Kailion

Chapter 42 - 42 Kailion

It had been over a month since Reece had escaped the underworld. Already there were rumours that she had joined heaven. Why didn't she tell me she was leaving I would've helped her.

If I'd known what the dagger was for I would have helped her with that too. As much as I hated my brother I hated Soneillon more.

I was in her room where I had visited a thousand times since she left just hopeing she was ok. That's when a black feather appeared in front of me.

"Gabriel?"

I grabbed the feather as a message appeared in my mind. It asked for a meeting with my father and the other fallen to take place on earth.

What the hell why would they want a meeting? Standing up I headed to my fathers office.

"Who is it?"

Entering I held out the feather.

"There's been a message from heaven the arch's want a meeting with the seven fallen."

My father raised his eyebrows as he stood up from his chair.

"Do they now?"

Taking the feather he listened to the message.

"Curious I wonder what they could want? A trap maybe?"

I shrugged my shoulders.

"Perhaps Reece has joined them and they want to show her off."

"Maybe either way I doubt they would openly attack in the guise of a peace meeting. They are annoyingly noble like that. Curious that they want Soneillon kept in the dark about it."

"Perhaps they have information about his whereabouts?"

"Perhaps very well we will go to this meeting, gather the fallen the meeting takes place tonight."

I nodded.

"Yes father."

"You will come with us if Reece is there maybe she will reveal more information to a friend."

He smiled thinking he could use me to get to her, little did he know I had given up long ago any hopes of being with her. She was too good for me she deserves someone good not someone tainted like me.

I left pulling out six feathers all with the same message.

They all disappeared as I returned to my room to wait for the meeting tonight.

——————

As we waited for the arch's to arrive I looked around the room all seven of the fallen sat around a conference table in one of the high rise buildings in the city. The balcony big enough for angels to land took up an entire side of the room.

"What's this all about lucifer?"

Santan spoke up.

"I would tell you if I knew."

"These arch's they think they can make us wait this was their idea."

Mammon's ranted.

"Have your spies heard anything?"

Asked laviathon.

"Nothing at all those pesky demons have been useless as of late."

The sounds of wings forced everyone into silence as Michael, Gabriel, Raguel, Raphael, uriel and Azrael entered. Finally a few seconds after came Raziel and Reece.

"Finally!"

Burst out beelzebub.

I kept my eyes on Reece looking her up and down. She had changed so much in such little time. Her wings were now one third firey red and her neck that once held Dantalis's mark then a burning hand print had been covered with a tattoo of a soaring Phoenix.

"So have you come to gloat that the she witch has joined you?"

Asmodeus spoke first.

"Not at all since this is a meeting of peace I will tell you the truth so that you will believe we hold no ill will in this meeting. She has not oathed with heaven she is still a free angel and Unpledged."

All the fallen smiled widely all thinking the same thing.

My father leaned forward.

"Then tell us Michael what is this meeting about?"

Michael turned to Reece.

"Phoenix if you'll please."

"Phoenix?"

I couldn't stop myself from asking.

Reece turned to me, Raziel grabbed her hand squeezing it briefly before she stepped forward.

I watch the exchange narrowing my eyes she winked at me smiling before stepping forward.

"I've had a vision, a vision that effects us all."

I watched in amazement as she recounted what she had seen and the plan Soneillon had for heaven hell and earth.

As she spoke I couldn't help but notice how much more confident she was. There was no confusion she seemed so sure of herself. Was Raziel the cause of it?

Once she had finished she returned to Raziels side as they smiled at each other.

"How do we know what you say is the truth?"

My father asked.

"Why would she lie?"

Gabriel answered.

"A ploy maybe to catch us off guard."

"I do not lie I can show one of you if you like."

"You would allow one of us into your mind?"

Reece or should I say Phoenix nodded.

"Will you trust the word of your son?"

My father looked to me.

"With my life."

His answer surprised me.

Phoenix looked to the other fallen.

"Would the rest of you trust Kails word?"

All seven fallen nodded in agreement.

Raziel whispered in Phoenixs ear she kissed him on the cheek. Then stood facing me

"Kail?"

I stood as we meet in the middle she reached out her hand as I took it in mine.

Both of us closed our eyes, only the more powerful angels could enter each other's mind but only if their was contact skin to skin.

It took a lot more to enter someone mind through a distance as Raziel did. He was the only one I had known that had accomplished it.

As I entered her mind she showed me the vision I watched all that Soneillon had planned. Once the vision was over Phoenix held me in her mind.

"I'm sorry I didn't say good bye."

"Why didn't you ask for help I would have helped you through all of it."

She smiled.

"I know you would have but it was something I had to do for myself."

"I understand. So Raziel?"

She laughed, it was the first time I had heard her laugh with so much joy.

"He has changed you."

She nodded.

"He has he has made me who I am now and I couldn't be happier."

"I'm glad."

She suddenly frowned as sadness crossed her face.

"You've seen the vision, you understand what I must do?"

I nodded.

"Is that why?"

I knew she would understand my question without having to explain. She feared that she would not be able to kill Dantalis.

That's why she was holding me to ask for my help when the time come.

"Yes Kail I did not ask for help in the underworld so I ask for it now. You must help me when the time comes to make the killing blow you must force me to do it. I don't care how you do but you must do it, I know this is a hard thing to ask. As much as you pretend to hate him I know deep down you do love him. I fear I can't bear this burden alone so I ask you please."

It was a burden and one I was willing to bare for her sake. I didn't know how I was going to help her but I would find a way.

"I will help you even if I have to force the blade in I will make you kill him. For everyone sake I will do it."

She reached out to touch my cheek pulling me into a hug.

"Thank you Kail you really are a true friend."

She kissed me on the cheek then she gently forced me out of her mind.

Back in my own mind she returned to her seat as I faced the fallen.

"She tells the truth I saw it all."

"That lying snivelling putrid excuse for a demon I told you Lucifer. You should have never released him from his cage."

Satan raged on.

All the fallen started raising their voices.

"Enough!"

Michael stood up his wings glowing as every one in the room went silent again.

"This isn't helping, what we need is a plan. It will take all the fallen and all the angels of heaven to take down the demons."

"What about Soneillon? It was pure luck he was caged the first time."

Belphegor interjected.

"Soneillon will be taken care of."

"What do you mean taken care of if we are to work together all information must be shared."

My father spoke up.

All the fallen nodded agreement.

Michael sighed.

"I can not risk telling you here I'm sure Soneillon already knows of this meeting."

"If that's the case then where can we go that Soneillon can not eves drop?"

My father asked.

"The only place where demons can not enter."

Gabriel answered.

"The city of angels will open its gates to the fallen in this time of need. We must work as one to prevent Phoenixs vision from happening."

"You are willing to allow us back into the city?"

"If it means stopping Soneillon yes."

My father looked to the other fallen each shocked at what they were hearing.

Even the other archangels seemed just as shocked. It seemed only Gabriel and Michael knew of this plan.

I couldn't believe it not once had I even seen the gates of the city let alone inside it.

Suddenly the sound of a car crashing penetrated the silence. Raguel looked out over the balcony from her position at the door.

"Michael you better have a look at this."

My father motioned for me to go to as I approached the railing I looked over.

The people driving the cars started yelled at each other seeming to be overcome with rage.

"Wha-"

I started to ask when I saw it the dark veins spidering the earth. Every human that touched the darkness became over come with hatred.

"What are they?"

"Dark energy filled with hatred. We have seen it before."

Michael looked to Raziel as he lifted up his arm. I had not noticed it was bandaged. His wings that were usually coated in azure smoke had disappeared as one wing was covered in some sort of white cream.

"Soneillon hit me with the same thing. Pure hatred it eats away at your soul tainting it. I almost died from one scratch."

The fallen for the first time I had ever seen looked afraid.

Michael turned back to the room.

"The time must be now. Will you join with the angels of heaven?"

All seven of the fallen stood.

"We will join but once this is over we are enemies again."

Michael nodded.

"So be it."
