I ran straight past Angelica who was stationed outside my room ignoring her I closed the door behind me throwing myself on the bed.
What the hell just happened? Kail kissed me and I kissed him back? What is wrong with me? Obviously I had feelings for Kail otherwise I wouldn't have kissed him back but when we kissed there was something missing. It wasn't like when I kissed Dantalis when we kissed there was instant sparks like every fibre of my being called to his.
Maybe I am loosing my mind.
The door behind me cracked open slowly.
"Reece?"
"Come in Angelica."
She smiled worry in her voice
"What happened? Did you fail to capture Azrael?"
I laughed bitterly there was something else to worry about. What had happened to me all I remember is getting so angry at what Azrael was saying that I just lost it.
I shook my head
"No we didn't fail Azraels in a cell downstairs."
"Then what's wrong?"
I sighed
"I'm just.... confused,"
"You mean about Dantalis?"
I looked at her surprised smiling she continued
"You weren't fooling anyone I know you asked about him because you like him."
I shook head
"That's the thing I don't even know if I like him. I mean I barely know him but everything about him draws me in."
"It sounds to me like you love him."
"If that were true then why would I kiss Kail?"
"You what!"
I Buried my head in my pillow
"Is that why you came running in here?"
I nodded the pillow moving with me
"Wow so umm what happened after the kiss?"
I turned back to her
"I told him he wasn't Dantalis."
"Well then there's your answer."
"I can't think about that right now, I'm here in the underworld and he's in the city of angels probably being punished for not killing me or worse dead."
"Awe come on Reece you can't give up now you captured Azrael didn't you that's one step closer to getting him back."
My mind flashed to my sword in Azraels side looking to my hands the blood was gone but I could still see it.
"But will I be the same when I do."
Her eyes brows raised in confusion
"Never mind Sorry Angelica but I really need sleep."
"Oh I'm sorry Ill let you get some rest I'll be just outside I'm still your bodyguard after all."
She closed the door behind her finally alone I could feel the exhaustion setting in after everything that had happened today I was mentally and physically spent. It wasn't long before my eyes closed my wings spread out over the bed blending with the black silk till they almost disappeared.

I woke to a knock on my door
"Go away."
I started to go back to sleep til the knock sounded again.
"Reece?"
Argh what did he want Kail was the last person I wanted to see right now.
"Go away Kail."
He opened the door
"Seriously do you have any manners."
I threw a pillow at him catching it in mid air he chuckled
"If you wanted to hurt me you might want to choose something harder then a pillow."
"Don't tempt me I just might."
"Come on sleepy head we have work to do."
I peeked out from under my remaining pillow
"What are you talking about?"
"Azrael you know the archangel currently hold up in a cell downstairs."
"What about him?"
"My father wants us to interrogate him."
"Us as in you and me?"
"Of corse now come on get up Reece."
I shook my head I had assumed lucifer would handle Azrael once we had him why was he making me do it? Hadn't I already done enough?
"You can't be serious Kail can't someone else help you?"
"Nope it has to be you now get out of bed we start now."
"Come on Kail what am I supposed to do I can't torture Azrael for information even if he is a total arse. What's lucifer trying to prove?"
"That you belong here."
I stared at him those words sounded like they came from him more than from his father.
"Look Reece you've already made an unbreakable deal you might as well get used to it you are in the underworld after all."
I sighed he had a point as much as I didn't like it I had made a deal there was no going back now.
"Fine get out while I change."
"Why it's not like I haven't seen it all before."
I glared at him laughing he left the room while I got dressed.
Leaving my room I walked past Kail
"Let's get this over with,"
"Reece wait."
I turned back to face him
"What?"
"Are you going to be able to do this?"
I looked away was I? am I the type of person that was capable of torturing someone? My mind was still very much human even though I was full angel now it took centuries to get the where Kail and even Dantalis were. Azrael was an arch angel he would not die from torture but still pain is pain. Not to mention would he even talk. I sighed telling myself again if doing this gets me one step closer to Dantalis then I must.
"Yes to get Dantalis back I would do anything."
The words were true even if I didn't understand it yet. I would get Dantalis back and I would do anything to achieve it.
A look of hurt crossed Kails face before he hid it behind humour.
"Just don't loose it like you did yesterday dead angels can't talk."
"I can't guarantee that."
It was the truth Azrael knew exactly what buttons to push if he does it again I doubt even Kail could stop me from killing him.
Azrael stood chained to the wall the chains I knew kept him from using his lightening power and diminished his strength as they were forged from trinium mined here in the underworld. His wings flatted against the wall behind him. A bandage had been wrapped around his side and shoulder that still had not healed fully.
Upon seeing me a bitter smile crossed his face
"Come to finish the job have you whore of the underworld."
My wings flared
"I would suggest you keep your insults to your self or I just might."
He chuckled
"I do not fear death."
Kail stepped closer
"Maybe not but you will beg for it before long."
"You do not scare me Kailion you and your fledgling are mere specs to the years I have lived. Do you think pain is new to me whatever you want from me you will not have."
I stared at the look in his eyes the determination it was in that moment that I knew he would not talk no matter what we did.
Suddenly just like when I knew about Dantalis and katianna information formed in my head. I smiled at Azrael and I knew how to make him talk without even touching him.
"Charmeine,"
Azraels head snapped to face me eyes narrowing
"What did you say?"
I smiled wider yes this was the answer
"I said Charmeine."
Kail remained silent taking the hint to play along.
Fear was in his eyes he tried to hide it but both Kail and I saw the name of his mate would be his downfall.
"You couldn't possibly know."
I stepped closer grabbing his chin
"Do you forget my father is Gabriel."
His eyes widened In realisation
"If you've hurt her I'll kill you."
I laughed
"She is safe....for now. We have her you see we knew you would not tell us anything by mere torture so it forced us to think outside the box. If you don't tell us where Raziel is we will simply torture her instead."
Azrael gritted his teeth anger poring out of him
"You lie!"
I pretended to be hurt by his words turning to Kail I ordered
"Go get her I'm sure Azrael will enjoy watching her suffer."
Revealing nothing Kail turned to leave when Azrael yelled
"Stop! Please she is my mate please don't hurt her."
"Then tell us where Raziel is!"
Kail had paused his hand on the door Azrael remained silent.
Opening the door Azrael yelled
"He's here."
"Here?"
"In the underworld."
Kail closed the door returning to where he was in front of Azrael.
"How? even an archangel can not enter unless my father allows it."
Azrael shrugged
"He is the angel of knowledge he found a way."
"Where in the underworld?"
"I don't know all he said was he found a way to learn all he needed."
I shook my head.
"Well that's helpful,"
I said sarcastically I turning to Kail
"What do you think should we torture Charmeine just a little to see if he's telling you the truth?"
"No please it's the truth I swear."
"Very well then we will take your word on it maybe your father will know where he could be hiding."
"It's worth a shot."
We turned to leave when Azrael stopped us.
"Let me see her."
I smiled
"See who?"
"Don't play dumb with me you know very well who."
"Well you see the thing is I would but we don't have her."
He bared his fangs growling
"You bitch you were playing me the whole time."
Kail laughed
"Yup and you fell for it thanks for the info guess we'll be going now."
I was about to step through the door
"Your father would be so disappointed in you I'm glad he isn't here to see this."
"Gabriel is not my father he killed my mother and I will never forgive him for it."
Azrael laughed
"Come on Reece let him stew in his own misery."
"It wasn't Gabriel I was talking about."
I went back in pressing my elbow to his throat
"What are you talking about?"
He laughed but there was no humour in it
"I'm talking about peter how his body now lies in the city of angels put to death for harbouring you."
I felt my power grow with my anger
"YOUR LYING,"
"Reece it's a trick don't listen to him."
I bared my fangs at Kail forcing him into silence
"Speak Azrael!."
He laughed again enjoying what his words were doing.
"Poor little fledgling how does it feel to have your whole world come crashing down as your loved ones are taken from you one by one."
My wings glowed brighter as my elbow pressed further.
"You have chosen the wrong side fledgling the sooner you realise that the better for everyone. Now peter is dead and it's all your fault."
The power grew I could feel the angelfire start to build on my skin.
"Keep going Azrael and you will be the one that's dead."
I spoke through gritted teeth trying desperately to hold back the power building in my body.
"I heard he begged for Michael to forgive him before he plunged his sword into his chest."
That was it I couldn't hold it back any longer the fire ignited in an explosion taking the entire room with it the last thing I saw was Azraels face frozen in fear as the flames engulfed him.
