"Why is a young master here?" The bartender snorted.
"Oh, you know who I am?" Kyle asked with a smile.
"I used to work for your father." The bartender snorted.
Kyle nodded. The reason he had come to the city was to meet this bartender. However, while looking into him, he actually found a new connection he wasn't aware of. This guy had been fired from his dad's company.
"I am aware, Leno." Kyle said. "I came looking for you."
"Looking for me? Why?" The bartender Leno raised an eye. "Your dad kicked me out of the company. I am incompetent in his eyes." He sneered.
"I am not my father." Kyle laughed. "I couldn't care less about what happened between you two. I came here for a different reason."
"I'm listening." Leno said. He raised an eye when he heard this young master.
"I want you to train me." Kyle said.
"...Train you? Aren't you sick?" Leno asked with a stunned expression.
Kyle nodded. "Does that matter?"
Leno laughed. "No, only the pay is important."
Kyle smiled. "Just what I wanted to hear."
The next day, in class. Kyle began coughing and spat blood into his kerchief. The students began speaking in whispers.
"Have you heard? He is actually a sickly young master who got in through the back door." Some of them whispered.
The four protagonist group had heard the murmurs as well amd had quickly lost interest in the guy.
However, Lana looked at him curiously. "He clearly knows that rumors about him have spread, but he looks to not care at all."
"He is a weakling. Forget about him." Zed snorted.
After school, Kyle left school and walked to a gym. There he found Leno waiting.
"Are you sure you want train? Won't it exacerbate your sickness?" Leno asked.
"I'll deal with my sickness. I just want you to train me well." Kyle smiled.
In such a way, a week passed by. At school, Kyle kept a low profile and simply ignored the other students. Other students too started thinking he was a sickly introvert and began ignoring him as well.
Kyle's past week had been hard. He had been training hard with Leno, and it had indeed increased his sickness, however, he needed to train as much as he could before the tutorial dungeon began.
Leno was an ex military bodyguard famous in the underworld as a mercenary in the future and so Kyle had he had taken the advantage to get his guidance to undergo hardcore military training to prepare before he could enter the dungeon.
These days had been hard. Kyle had an extremely sickly body and he was struggling hard. He had almost no stamina and his level was 0. At the beginning, most average humans were at least level 2 or 3. The protagonists were probably all level 5 and even had skills.
However, Kyle worked hard and was focused most on developing his reaction time to sudden attacks, especially because he had a premonition of what was the most likely threat to him.
Kyle looked at the date. Three more days to go to the appearance of the training dungeon that would change the world. Kyle decided he needed one important thing to prepare himself.
He called up his dad. "Son, I've been hearing that you've been isolating yourself in class."
Kyle laughed. "Is that really surprising? Anyway dad, I want you to do something for me."
Kyle's father was surprised. He had never allowed his son to feel like he didn't lack money, yet his son had never requested something from him so directly.
"What do you need?" He asked.
"I need you to put me in contact with the Strategic Technological Institute's inventor Krome." Kyle said.
Kyle's father had begun to understand his son less and less. He had never even heard of this individual before. "Alright, I'll put you in contact with this person."
A day later, Kyle was actually at the research office of the inventor Krome. Krome was a wiry looking old man, who was known to make crazy inventions. However, his products were considered highly impractical and he was relegated to a low tier researcher.
"Young master Warren, I heard you wished to speak to me." Krome spoke with tremors in his voice. He wasn't too used to meeting people of authority.
"I did indeed. I wish to purchase an invention of yours." Kyle smiled. "The neural orb."
Krome's eyes bulged. "Young master, you actually heard of my invention? But it was rejected at the preliminary stages. How do you know I have it?"
"Stop asking useless questions Krome. I wish to purchase the one you created in secret." Kyle said nonchalantly, before a smile crept on his face. "I can be your human tester, if you like."
Inventor Krome. The crazy inventor was a small background character in the extra world encyclopaedia who was barely mentioned as having created crazy technological inventions including the neural orb in the Dungeon Raiders world.
His invention was said to unfortunately lie catching dust because he was considered a failed inventor, however this particular invention was said to be one of the few technological implements that existed pre dungeon.
Ofcourse, from the encyclopedia, Kyle knew that this researcher was a crazy scientist who would do anything for research and understood how to push his buttons. So he signed up to become his object's tester.
Krome immediately agreed with a crazed look on his face as he registered Kyle's DNA with the neural orb. The orb was actually made of nanobots that formed a layer of thin clothes over Kyle's body. However, at the crucial moment, it could act as a tough defensive implement in the dungeon.
As for his sickness, unfortunately, Kyle was helpless on this front. He could only hope to use the tutorial dungeon for this purpose.
