Chapter 6 - Black Market

However, he wasn't planning to enter the serenity dungeon. This was a major dungeon with tons and tons of floors. Such a dungeon would only gradually be explored. Instead, he had other plans.

Kyle made the excuse of sickness to take a leave from school and left for the city. He went to a high profile restaurant to have lunch. In the past few weeks, he had been slowly kicked out of the Warren family due to his brother's influence, however, he still had a lot of money from his own inheritance from his grandfather and he planned to make use of it.

In the restaurant, as he quietly sat in the VIP room he booked, Broken God's Shadow was enveloping him, hiding his identity completely. He wasn't shrouded, however, no one could remember who he was or identify him.

A man entered the vip room. He was shrouded in black clothes and exuded a terrifying power of darkness. However, when he looked at Kyle who was calmly playing with his glass of wine, he was inwardly shocked. Because he could see the person, but for some reason his face seemed fuzzy and it was impossible for him to identify at all.

"Are you the one who invited me here?" The man asked.

"Have a seat, Mr. Curien." Kyle calmly replied.

The powerful man exuding darkness, whose name was Curien sat down with curiosity. "You said you have an investment proposition."

Kyle nodded. "I believe you are intending on forming a black market for dungeon trades? I am willing to provide you with the investment of a billion dollars."

Curien was shocked. He looked at this mysterious individual whose face was fuzzy. Just who was he? He didn't dare be rude, because he realized that a person who could hide their identity like this could not be ordinary. Was it a super power? He wondered.

"What do you want in return?" Curien asked.

"I want a voting stake in the market, a seat in your council of elders as well as unfiltered access to the database of items." Kyle said with a smile. "Am I asking for too much?'

Curien frowned. He was indeed asking for a lot, but the funding was enormous. This would completely stabilize the foundations of the black market he was planning to build.

"I know you want to focus on privacy. I can assure you, however, that having me as an elder will be far more beneficial in the long run." Kyle smiled. "So far, five dungeons have already opened up. Economy is bustling and even the guilds are considering tapping into the underground economy, except the underworld has become too dangerous because of the rise of supers."

Curien thought for a long time before agreeing. "I will agree to your proposal. However, what should I address you as? How shall the elder be identified?"

"Hidden Shadow" Kyle said. "That is what you can call me. Let us exchange a drink in celebration of this partnership. I will send you the funds through various proxies in a day."

Curien nodded, but then asked. "How did you know about my plans? How did you know how to contact me?"

"Even the walls have ears. This is the age of super powers, you will do good to remember that. There are many unconventional ways to find information including magic." Kyle responded.

"Magic... it has indeed changed everything. The Dungeons will also change the world." Curien nodded.

Kyle laughed and then slowly merged into the air, disappearing from the room. Curien who saw that had a shiver run down his spine. "Hidden Shadow... there are more experts out there than I could have imagined." He thought to himself.

Kyle was walking back to school, when he wondered about the need to level up at the moment. He was level 0, but his attributes were so ridiculous that he didn't even need to level up.

"Five major dungeons have opened across the country, however, humans would not have knowledge about the ancient hidden dungeons for a long time." Kyle thought. "The history of Dungeon Raiders is truly vast, when one thinks about it.With over fifteen sequels and prequels, the world has been thoroughly expanded to encyclopedic proportions."

Kyle walked towards the serenity dungeon to observe the situation. He saw that a huge number of solo explorers had cropped up. The government had allowed the free exploration of the dungeon, but items brought out had to be taxed.

Kyle saw the stalls and economy growing around the dungeon. The spawning of serenity dungeon had caused most of the companies and people in the area to vacate the locality and in its place dungeon hunting guilds, companies, stores and economies entered in.

Kyle was walking back to school, when he received a call from his father. "Kyle, do you want to invest money into the guild? Christian is willing to offer you 1% share for your billion dollar liquid investment."

Kyle laughed. Even his dad was trying to scam him now? "I've already spent my money. I don't have any to invest." He said before he cut the phone.

Kyle's father was stunned as he looked at Christian and shook his head. "He said he already spent his inheritance from my father." Christian snorted in anger. "Is he lying? The guild needs liquidity right now! I was doing him a favor!"

Kyle's father shook his head. He did not want his son to be isolated, but he was a pragmatic man. He knew that Christian was the future for the family and if he needed to let go of the younger son, so be it, he thought.

As Kyle walked back into campus, he found several people sparring with each other and learning magic. When they saw Kyle, many of them sneered. Christian's humiliation of his brother had spread throughout the school.

At that moment, a girl came forward and handed him a sword. "Care for a spar?" She asked.

Kyle looked at her with curiosity. The girl was none other than the perfect potential superstar from his class, Lana. "A spar? You sure looked for the perfect person." Kyle joked.

Lana shook her head. "Just once."

Kyle shrugged and grabbed the sword. The two went to a corner of the ground to spar, however, the scene attracted the attention of many others, who began to crowd to see this bizarre spectacle.

Lana took a sword of her own and then motioned for the beginning of the battle. Kyle held the sword in his hand without any hint of form. Lana, seeing that Kyle didn't even seem to notice her, swung her sword in a beautiful arc.

"Sword Proficiency!" Someone commented.

Kyle saw the arc of the sword from a mile away. He simply took a step back, as if by accident and the sword missed him by a few inches. Lana raised an eye and began striking again, however Kyle kept stepping around and barely missing the sword's attack.

After five minutes of this anti climax and seeing Lana become more and more shocked, Kyle faked a cough. "I am tired. I am not good with the sword, excuse me, I need to rest." He side stepped the incoming sword and made his way out of the crowd and back to the dorm.

He wasn't interested in the stupid games of these students. The vision of the entities was a big headache for him, until he could repair the Broken God's Shadow at least to the first level.

[Broken God's Shadow - The shadow aura was damaged during an ancient war. To repair it to the first level - you need to feed it 10 million exp.]

Kyle had to make his way to a dungeon and collect exp for his Broken God's Shadow. Once it got to the first level, he would be untraceable by the entities.
