Omoro and I have had a few weeks to try to get used to our new way of life. We joined our "family". The Titans never knew about us, and it makes you think whether they cared. To say the truth, I haven't been to the throne room. I feel like they are waiting on confirmation of our words. Since we've been here, we've been sent on errands and even tested by fighting monsters. Omoro hasn't been near enough to talk with me, but I can tell she's been through the same. I just wish I could be given the chance to speak with a higher up. Either Hyperion or Saturn, they would realize the abilities from what I've heard, but according to the army that remains, they left to the east coast a few days before we appeared. At the same time, twe ran into Bill, in fact. Which doesn't leave me with much choice but Krios, who only cares about his own trouble? Past or present, it doesn't matter. I've heard many a night being broken by his furious rants to Atlas. If this was my family, I needed to leave soon.
" Hey, are you really half-Titan?"
Another kid, this makes five today. All of them seem to be half Olympian, and no one seems to know what to make of me. Mortal or divine, I'm a walking anomaly.
"Yeah, I'm The Son Of Saturn. Though, right now, I doubt anyone would believe me outside of combat. Since my powers are most likely to appear in crisis, it makes it hard to prove myself." This kid wasn't ready for the full truth. No one here was. I had been keeping practice during the fights with monsters subtly. I doubt anyone here except Omoro and Krios could even come close to telling when my powers were used. And my blade seems to be forcing itself into a slumber since the moment I entered the grounds. The only thing that could confirm my claims was pushing me back farther by not showing itself. Why did my luck have to turn the moment I reached Othrys?
Suddenly, the boy looked scared. He got up fast, pointed, and ran. I knew then, I was being summoned by Krios. I turned around, and saw two empousai. "No wonder he ran," I said, "you girls look horrible in this light."
The empousa on the left sneered, but hesitated. She put her hands on her hips. "Make your jokes, Lucius. But you've been summoned by Krios, and you're lucky to even get that. Oh, and your little friend. She's looked better, but you wouldn't know it." She smiled like she won.
I got mad. But knew that was what she wanted, so I concealed it with a bigger smile. These demonic cheerleaders were in charge of the female fighters, but I knew Omoro could take care of herself. There was a reason I used to call her Phoenix. "Just take me to Krios, I'm tired of waiting."
The other empousa tried to wrap her arm in mine, but I pushed her off. "No, I won't be swayed. Take me to Krios, and no charm, magical or otherwise. Or you'll end up like the others I fought."
She pouted, saying, " You're no fun. Yet, wait until Krios gets you." I knew Krios wouldn't harm me, at least once I showed my abilities he wouldn't dare.
I entered the stronghold, and was led through corridors of Mist to the throne room of the Titans. It felt oppressive, but I was used to it after my travels. Upon entry to the throne room, both empousai left. I turned, and saw something that made my heart stop. Krios hadn't called me, but my father. Krios looked livid, and my father hadn't aged since the time he gave me Interitus. I knew he could look how he wanted, but this form calmed my nerves. I knelt, and at that moment. Interitus appeared at my side in a sheath black as the night.
When I raised my head, Krios was astounded. "He is indeed your son?!?!" And Saturn simply nodded. "My Lord, I never knew you would do this! Titans are not like gods, we are not meant to mix with mortals! He must die! He and his companion!"
At this point, Saturn turned to him. He immediately silenced Krios with a slap. "You dare to speak of my child like thus? If anything, he must prove himself in battle, and should he fail. Then, and only then, shall he die. You say you need leaders? Yet, my son is not worthy to you? I decree he be made captain, and lead a force of his own. And my word is law."
I felt bad for Krios, but knew I couldn't do anything for him. Instead, I made a petition to my father. "Lord Saturn, let me choose my own soldiers. I only wish for Omoro to join me in leading my force."
Saturn turns to me, " See Krios, the boy has ambition. And knows his place. I both promote him, and grant his wish. My boy, you are going places!"
"Thank you, Father. I will go choose my troops now." As I left, I realised the reality of why Saturn is known as the Titan who ate his children. That might be his best moment in regards to family, because I could tell he was trying to stop himself from repeating the same circumstances. At least Interitus hadn't disappeared, and I got my team to choose. Speaking of which, I ordered the nearest empousa to send for Omoro. And give her directions to reach the Captain's quarter's, as well as instructions to go there after evening muster.
Now, to wait...
