"Now, how will I go about connecting my consciousness to some biological entity when I'm stuck in this space?"
Looking around the void, Quin tried to figure out where is he, and what is this space that is encasing and locking his existence.
He also needs to figure out if he is even in the same universe or if his current universe even had the same condition to give birth to biological life.
"Using my perception on that orbiting crystal allowed me to get fuzzy knowledge feedback. What if I meld my perception to the surrounding void?"
As Quin concentrates his consciousness, he spread his perception and tried to meld it into the void, hoping for a reaction.
Just as his perception is concentrated, his consciousness itself is resonating with this space, giving him the feeling that this space is his rightful home.
He scanned the free energy particles around, gleaning some sporadic knowledge feedback, allowing him to at least know that this space is called the Mind space.
This is the space where the Mind crystals and consciousness live.
It also gave him the awareness that every Mind crystal is a valid coordinate of the void.
"So, by resonating with this space, I can decide to project my consciousness into the void and allow it to drift into the material universe waiting for it to latch into a biological entity? How come it all feels unreliable?"
Accepting the knowledge imprinted from the void, Quin scratched his imagined head, thinking that this is all for nothing since there is no other way.
Staying in this space doing nothing will have his unstoppable transformation proceeding with a certain negative consequence versus projecting his consciousness while leaving a seed with an uncertain consequence.
He knew that there was never any choice available.
"Now everything boils down to luck."
Quin focuses his consciousness and resonated with the entire space, preparing to send his projection.
With the growing resonance, all the free energy particles in the area concentrated around the surface of the crystal, making its property substantial.
It formed an array of lines that showed signs of assisting his mind to outline the void concept of projection.
As the ritual carried on, Quin can feel his consciousness in a state of overclocking while having parts of it projected bit by bit outside this enclosed mind space.
As soon as some parts of it touched the outer boundaries, there is a sudden change in his perception.
It allowed him to perceive what appears to be a cluster of lights, with a contrast in their brightness.
While scanning the closest lights, his instincts act up and guide him towards a lingering light that is almost extinguished.
As he felt a slight suction, Quin knew that this was the vessel he was looking for.
Letting go of his control towards the ritual of projection, it runs and pushed his consciousness into the light, depleting the energy that surrounded his crystal.
"Success!" The ritual connects his crystal to this dim light.
He knew all he needs to do now was to let go of his consciousness and let his instincts act, allowing for a successful transfer.
Only he mulled for a bit, thinking that there seemed to be something missing in this procedure.
He scrutinized the knowledge he got from the void, something feels off, and some parts of the process seem to miss something.
Noting it down, for now, he perceived the other side of the connection.
"My perception cannot scan its status in its entirety, though I can determine it is a biological body. Anyway, there got to be a good reason my instinct guided me to this choice."
Quin braced himself as he loosen his consciousness, making him slack enough to be pulled by the attraction from the other end of the connection.
As he transferred, he tried to memorize all the perceptions he received. This data, while not accurate, might come in handy, especially with some projects that might start once he settled himself down.
Now he only needed to keep everything on his mind, and there will be a day when he can stop being clueless about his circumstances.
From what felt like a conflicting eternity and instant, Quin perceived a new perspective on his consciousness.
His senses as a human being are coming back, allowing the temperature on his skin and a counterforce being applied from his back to be felt.
"Lucky! it's a human, and it is a man."
Rejoicing for a while, Quin unleashed his perception, perceiving the current situation of his body.
Lying on the ground wounded, surrounded by medical personnel working around the site.
"So that's how it was."
As he continued to perceive his current state, he got the awareness that his current consciousness is covering the original weak brain activity of his body.
Having the current accident happen, afforded him a chance to take over control.
Scanning the weak consciousness, he can feel it is not even possible for it to wake up soon with the body status falling into a vegetative.
"The connection towards the mind space is still there... It seems like I can rest easy for a while. Having my consciousness overloaded is not something desirable... Who knows if it has sequelae?"
As Quin confirmed safety, his taut mental state relaxed, entering a low energy consumption allowing him to fall unconscious.
It gave the medical personnel glaring feedback on their device.
"Sir, red tag patient #3 shuts down... It seems to be a symptom of post-crisis overdraft."
"There might be some complications on his brain that can affect his memories."
The Medical personnel spoke into what looked like a communication device hanging on his ear, in the background of a loud ambulance siren and a busy crowd of various personnel active in the area.
"Got it, have it recorded on his file, and get him into a floating stretcher... We'll have him transported to the hospital as soon as possible, away from the accident site."
A voice responded from the device on his ears, instructing him what to do.
Moving back to the side of the ambulance, he tapped the side of the door, allowing it to open. Giving another tap activated a mechanism that detached what looked like a stretcher from the vehicle's wall.
It floated down straight to the medical personnel, following him as he walks straight to Quin's location.
Pressing down the stretcher, it deformed and had its edges lit up, hovering down near the floor, allowing the medical personnel to carry Quin alone.
"Alright, we got it done. Now you just need to go back to the ambulance."
As he settled Quin down, he pressed a button on the side of the stretcher, allowing it to navigate back to the ambulance with him following it back.
Looking at the surrounding chaos, he mused the fact that this season is unusually eventful.
Accidents are happening back and forth, and the reasons given are so far-fetched.
Just like this gas explosion incident that occurred here, only it is so strong that it involved the middle of the street. Who knows what actually happened? As he thought of alternatives, he smiled bitterly, knowing there was no use being aware.
"I just hope these incidents get settled down soon, right buddy?"
He sighed as he glanced at the unconscious Quin on the stretcher, wishing that his workload can decrease in the following season.
"Sir, ambulance #6 is full. We are ready to depart."
Sitting in the back of the ambulance, he reported his status and asked for permission to leave. Going back to the hospital would allow him to relax and be exempt from the rest of the field mission.
"Permission granted."
Receiving the order, he glimpsed one last time on the broken street surrounded by crowds of people and some journalists, thinking that hopefully, this is the last time he'll hear about some gas explosion that has this one-of-a-kind influence and coverage.
