Chapter 10 - Siblings POV: Presents

"Big sister! What are those?" A small girl in ragged clothes pointed towards the basket. A strange object was protruding from it.

"Fufufu, this is my present to you." The older sister took out the strange fruits. One was a light brown rounded fruit with small scales on it.

While the other had an appearance similar to a candle with its curled stem tip red like a fire.

Small balls seemingly dropped down from it giving it the illusion of hot wax flowing down.

The two siblings stared at each other before looking up to their older sister. "Choose one. Oh and by the way you only need one bite or so I heard."

While they were still confused they complied to her wishes and chose a fruit. The brother chose the candle-like fruit while the sister chose the scaled one.

Widening their mouths they chomped down, savouring their bite they then swallowed. It was the biggest mistake of their lives.

The flavour permeated through their tastebuds revealing to them how terrible it truly was.

"Disgusting!" They simultaneously shouted. Rolling in the floor they grab their heads and screamed as loud as they could.

The elder sister had not realised that they would react so violently. She then smiled feeling that it was her chance to show off.

"Sweetheart!" Putting both her pair of index fingers as well as her thumbs into a heart shape a sheet of transparent green candy moulded into that shape.

Handing it over to her siblings she smiled sweetly. "Bon appétit." She pointed her forefinger onto the ceiling and a stream of light shot out.

In a flash a small flurry of candy snowflakes fell down. As they dropped to the floor they melted away.

It was one of the most magical moments of their lives.

....

"Take this Rena!" A blast of wax shot out from the boys palms engulfing the girl.

She smirked as she transformed into a Cobra Woman. She hissed as her tail lashed out hitting directly at the chest.

It was a close call if not for her amazing flexibility which allowed her to dodge the wax.

Her brunette hair fluttered as she hissed even more. She did not hesitate to spit out venom from her mouth.

"No you take this, Blake!" Steam rose around the venom as it shot past. Blake had a close call as he had done this many times.

Erecting a dome of wax around him he defended himself from his sister's terrifying corrosive venom.

Using the leftover wax he covered the poison making sure the smoke would not affect anyone else.

They both had bated breath. Rena could be seen using her long tongue to lick her lips. Her eyes constricted as she made a move against him once more.

A book appeared besides her. "Crystal Magic: Spine Shards." Multiple translucent crystal spears appeared out of nowhere and started to impale the dome from every corner.

"No fair! You're using magic!" The lances shattered along with the wax dome. Blake now had a fervent passion burning within him.

"Steel Magic: Blade Storm Shower." Sharpened steel lances collided with the crystal spears.

They both exploded in contact. "Restricting Ivies." A gentle voice interrupted their fight.

It was Eliza, she had casted a spell, and not just any spell but a spell that restricted their movements in vines.

If they tried to resist the vine would just tighten them up and absorb their vitality. The loss of vitality would definitely immobilise them for the rest of the day.

Due to the abrupt ending of their fight Rena had transformed back into her original form. "Ah, Sis we didn't realise you were back!" Blake tried to explain why they were fighting.

But he was stopped. She had already seen what happened. Rena retaliated by blaming Blake but it was no use.

Eliza sighed feeling hopeless and had finally given up. "Listen up you two. I have to accompany a friend of mine to the store today."

They nodded knowing that she wanted to see Walter and Nathaniel. "I'm just going to buy more Sticks. Oh and by the way we have a guest today. Show him around the library."

She winked at them implying that they use the leftover Grimoires. As of now they had bought 20 Grimoires over the past few days.

The only reason why they could buy so much was because Nathaniel appreciated Eliza's efforts for finding critters for him to use.

In return she was gifted with them every time she had bought a decent critter. For every high quality animal bought to him equaled one Grimoire.

That meant she had captured about 20 or more beasts on her own. While technically she could only do this with the help of both her Devil Fruit and Magic it was still her that had captured them.

This spoke volumes of how talented she was at capturing them. No markings indicating any harm could be seen on them.

While capturing an animal without inflicting any harm sounded rather easy in fact it was not the case most of the time.

Due to their rabid nature they often go through life threatening situations.

Thanks to a bit of restraining magic as well as a bit of vitality sapping she was able to stop them before they harmed themselves.

When the siblings heard that they were basically lecturing someone down the path of magic they were intrigued.

Magic was something that filled them with joy most of the time since it was their only entertainment.

Sometimes with their combined powers they made puppet shows created from their natural magic and sometimes wax.

....

On a couch were two children around their age. The girl with blonde hair was 12 same as Blake and as for the boy with brown hair he was the same age as Rena, 13.

They were both fidgeting as they were nervous being selected as students for one of the most competent mages in the village.

When the siblings walked in they realised that they were the rumoured magicians. They along with Walter and Eliza were famous for being mediators for the mysterious shop.

They were the only people brave enough to delve into the deepest parts of the forest. "Um, nice to meet you!" The boy stood up and held out his hand towards Blake.

He felt an admiration towards him, he was nervous since this was the first time he had seen him up close.

It was truly a stressful moment for him. When Blake had barely touched his hand he pulled back in anxiety.

Blake knew that he had good intentions and was just socially awkward at most. "I-I am Sera. Nice to meet you."

While Sera was still nervous she did better than the other boy. "And I am Jacob."

The siblings were shocked. They finally recognised this person, Jacob Blanc, a popular boy even the adults acknowledged.

He excelled in many things from literature to martial arts. The only thing he wished for however was magic.

He wanted to become like those fabled Wizards that spend their time researching magic.

It was a dream of his. "Well then now that the introductions are settled let's go to the library."

Sera and Jacob knew what happened next, a Grimoire would fall to them. This was the most exciting part.

They then proceeded to go into another room. The library was massive and it took a few turns before finding out where the Grimoires were.

In front of an aisle Sera and Jacob just stood there and waited. Then a book fell down and went straight towards Sera.

It was a three leafed Clover book with a pale blue colour. Small snowflakes designs could be seen all throughout.

She beamed at them boasting at how beautiful her Grimoire was. Jacob was jealous but he was resolute.

His wish was finally granted when a book fell dow. It was a crimson book with golden lines around the edges.

In the middle was another three leafed Clover. His dreams were coming true at last! He was now a Magician!

....

"Concentrate. Focus your Mana into your palms and release it." Blake's words had ignited a literal flame in Jacob's heart.

Holding out his hand a miniature fireball appeared at his fingertips. He had finally done it.

He had used magic! Sera knew she couldn't let him have all the spotlight so she concentrated hard and smiled.

She had also created snow from her fingertips. While the amount was minuscule with enough practice they could easily become powerful.

"One day I am going to the forest and meet that mysterious store owner!" Jacob now had a goal to look forward to.

His fears were now burned away. He was one step closer to his dream. As for Sera.

Well she had a goal but it was a secret for now.
