Chapter 44 - Teachings from a Shaman

L.Y. 651 Inu 10 12:32 L.Q. - Frodimon, DFC Town Square

"So do you understand what the actual process is?"

[Qira]

"I think so? For instance when you were speaking of the concept of Chie it's a process of cultivating the essence within you in order to move from one plain to the other. But what happens if you don't have the Chie needed to return?"

[Twilight]

"That's a great question, though there's not much research done on it. Most of the time we make sure no one goes alone or that they have a way to return. Though back in the Theodonases time there were mass disappearances due to this."

[Qira - With excitement]

"What happened to them?"

[Twilight]

"They change into these wandering spirits. Some are peaceful just here to help, while others are vengeful."

[Qira]

"Can they ever return to our world?"

[Twilight]

"It depends, though they are able to change back into peaceful from vengeful, it depends on the length they've been gone, if they can return to us, as well as what happened to the owner's vessel."

[Qira]

"So how can you tell the difference between the two?"

[Twilight]

"Well first, there are three, let's start with what the person or creature becomes, which we call a Kai. Within the category, we have 3 separate distinctions: Vengeful Kai, Neutral Kai, Peaceful Kai. As the names suggest the Vengeful is one that is truly your enemy and adversary. While the Neutral Kai, is neither good nor evil, be wary as they care more about their well being at the end of the day. The peaceful Kai however is more friend than foe typically appearing in order to help guide."

[Qira]

"Are they easy to distinguish among?"

[Twilight]

"Yes, at least to a trained eye, they wear a specific color in excess. The Vengeful Kai wears more red, the Neutral Kai has more green, while the Peaceful Kai has more blue. So as they transition from classification you will see their attire change into what it fits. So be wary of those that change into red."

[Qira]

"But it is only within the space that we would encounter these spirits?"

[Twilight]

"No, some areas within our world have a higher spiritual presence due to the essence in the area. For instance within a Shrine, as well as a few places like the Shifting Meadows."

[Qira]

"Shifting Meadows?"

[Twilight - Curious]

"It's a valley on Diamon, one of the 3 islands of Derilla like the one we are on Frodimon. It's the one we Shamans of Derilla use the most for our spiritual practices. Though no one has been able to practice since the Zenshu came about."

[Qira]

"Speaking of which, can you tell me more about Frodimon and the other islands, as well as the Zenshu Cult?"

[Twilight]

"Certainly."

[Qira]

L.Y. 651 Inu 11 11:04 S.Q. - Frodimon, DFC Headquarters, Family Quarters

I spent most of the day speaking with Qira, discussing the other islands. Thidmon and Diamon. It seems that the 3 islands were like a family. With Frodimon being the mother and Thidmon the father to Diamon. However Diamon is the newest island, it seems back in the days of my great great grandfather Ruko the two were still new. It was also the time of the Gods or at least the creature classification of God. Even to this day creatures under this classification are almost impossible to defeat for one reason or another. They fall under the three types Sky, Sea, and Earth. Only a few have ever been killed or died, though there aren't many of them. The Saiberdon Remains within Adrilla are apparently from a defeated Earth God.

We didn't go too much in detail about them after that, due to the fact there wasn't much information on them as a whole. They'd rarely appear, roaming the Sky, Sea, or Earth. But ever since The Cult corrupted parts of the world they have been seen less and less. No one fully knows why or what it means. The three Sea Gods making up Derilla Island seem to be the most well known of them.

When we got into the discussion about the Zenshu Cult he told me more about Ruko and an enemy named the Dark King. Not much is in the books we have on the Dark King before he received his name. The only thing we know are his exploits, the destruction left behind from him, and the evil that was created there after. He was a follower of Zithion, and accumulated a cult-like following during his first few years. They didn't survive the time period as a whole, a small pocket of them were still seen during the reign of the other two Guardians. These small pockets eventually came together reforming as the Zenshu Cult. They have one purpose and it is to carry out the will of the Dark King.

He didn't have much to give on this subject either but he did give me the name of a man on Thidimon, Nion, who may know more.

When I returned to Headquarters there was someone new there Aka's Advisor Candidates. It seems since his brother's betrayal the people of Drangondale have been asking him to step up and take the chair. With him being a free spirit it seems to be uncomfortable for him so he is seeking support and running trails with candidates to fill some shoes. So the Headquarters have been full of people, and steadily the town has been rebuilding. They reinstated their Guardian Knights as well, in which Gixoh, Lepricus, Obitiga, and Liam helped train. While Sirisa and Temti helped with the mages and healers. We did a few other things like exploring the island, helping out the Dragondalians, and chatting with Frodimon herself.

We didn't do much else besides that or prepare for the journey to Thidimon. The people of Dragondale did a lot to accommodate us in the meantime and Qira taught me how to further channel my essence. Though I couldn't get access into 'The Space' I did however slowly get more intune with my Transformation. Giving me more control over how much I lose myself within it.
