EMILY'S POV
I was listening to Ms. Manders tell us about the assembly when I felt like someone was watching me. I look diagonally behind me a little bit and see Zach looking at me. I didn't even realize he was in this class! He stared at me intently and I returned the look. We both just stared at each other for a little while until Mr. Palmer came on the announcements asking for all the Advanced Choir students to head to the gym.
I tapped Jennette and Bailey's hands then together we walked up to Ms. Manders and give her the pass. She let us go and we left the class together. As we walked to the gym I forgot about Zach. One of the best ways to forget about a boy was to be doing a sport or choir activity in front of people, and I really needed to focus. After Principal Skyper finished talking about the Halloween Festival and Dance Mr. Palmer had arranged it so we would sing some spooky songs. He had it arranged so we would sing Thriller by Micheal Jackson and a version of This is Halloween by Panic at the Disco. The best part is, Mr. Palmer gave me a two other people small solos for This is Halloween.
I am really nervous, I've never had a solo in Advanced Choir before. I've had a few duets and I've sang in a trio for Advanced Chorus in Middle School but that was it. I shook off all jittery feelings I had and headed over to where Mr. Palmer and Kristen were standing. Kristen also has a solo and I wanted to talk to her if possible. But of course, things don't always go as planned and as soon as I walk over to her Mr. Palmer notices me and asks me to get the class together. He also tells me that he might need me to start warming up the choir, then before I can ask anything he runs off. I mean the man literally runs towards the door leading out of the gym.
