As Vincent hung up the phone on Olivia, she was breathing heavily and placed her hands on her head to process whatever Vincent just told her. She kept her mobile on the dining table, and then dropped onto one of the chairs surrounding it, and asked to herself in surprise, "How can this happen?"
A voice called out from behind asking, "How can what happen?" The voice was familiar, we all knew who he was, we all love him; the entire country does; the entire world does; the ultimate dreamboat/ one of the highest-paid models of the United States; Air-Man, aka, Aiden Zhou; full name, Zhoufong Filbert Tenzing Zhou.
"Alice ran away from home because Vincent and Lombriz were fighting, and it turns out that they're getting divorced!" Olivia whirled around and revealed the fact as she saw her best friend standing behind her.
"Whoa whoa whoa! Can you please back up a bit? By Alice, do you mean Vincent's daughter?" Aiden's eyes widened as he asked the question.
"Yeah. But wait, aren't you shocked about them splitting up?" Olivia asked with her eyebrows raised.
"Nah. I ain't surprised. I totally hated those assholes since high school." Another voice commented from behind. Nothing has changed about her since the wedding. Sweet as sugar with her beloved husband and her best friends, but as pungent as Bitrex to Vincent and his wife; Sarah Tenzing Zhou, the reason why everything happened for the last sixteen years. We four gals meeting up in Queen Charlotte Intermediate, we trying to set her and Aiden together, separating our ways in high school, and then reuniting together ten years later with a grand double wedding to cap things off.
"Careful Sarah, that's one of my friends you're talking about there." Aiden pointed at his wife and reminded her with a crooked smile.
"Aiden, you're seriously a miracle worker. How do you even manage to go out drinking with that guy? Didn't he come between the two of you?" Olivia asked him in curiosity.
"Yeah, honey! How do you not feel the need to stab yourself every day? After all, his charm really did blind me, to be honest." Sarah added.
"Actually he's not that bad. And all those things that happened before are all dark history, we don't need to remember that. And besides, Alice is such a doll; she's well-cultured. She must get that from somebody, and we all know that ain't comin' from the Earthworm's genes." Aiden folded his arms and summarized his commentary about Vincent's family. Well, there was a time where he and Vincent couldn't even be in the same room together with a huge possibility of stabbing each other to death. However, they grew to be close friends after the wedding.
"Personally, I am okay with Vincent. I did make peace with him at the end. Mavis and Pauline never really had any personal problems with him. Samar is out of the picture and Arthur and Chris couldn't care less about the subject. It's only Olivia who has a problem." Sarah pointed out while looking at Olivia the entire time.
A few seconds later, the doorbell rang. The musical sounds of the bell kept ringing inside their heads. as Olivia went to get the door, she rolled her eyes and said, "Aiden, you really need to get your techie guy and fix your orchestra bell, bro. Yeah, I live in your mansion and all, but don't forget that Samar and I live here just because you asked us to. We're still paying you money; we want a normal life; you and Sarah can have the fancy luxuries. And plus, this fancy bell gets onto my nerves; get it fixed." Olivia opened the door to find Vincent drenched in rainwater. He put his hands forward and scooted his way through to see his daughter.
As he entered Olivia's bedroom where Alice was lying, he gently stroked her head and sighed in relief that his daughter was alright.
"I know that we don't get along, Olivia, but seriously thank you. You really saved my ass this time." Vincent smiled and thanked her.
"Well, it's not like I did it for you. I love Alice; I would do anything for her." Olivia commented with her eyebrows stiffened and her arms angrily folded.
"I know you would." Vincent politely replied despite her obvious gestures.
"So buddy, mind telling us about you and Lombriz?" Aiden asked.
"Yeah, man. What's going on?" Sarah added.
Vincent looked over at Olivia and gave her a meaningful look, took a deep breath and started narrating his story, "Well, Lombriz quit her job at the bank...."
