After checking my status, I feel excited. I walk to where the wolves I killed wondering if there is a loot system like a video game. when I crouch in front of it I see phantom words appear above the wolf. "Loot," I say. And then the wolf disappears. Huh, all I did was read what the words said.
Let's see what I got, I think with enthusiasm. "Inventory." My slots appear, showing 3 slots with something in them. "Wolf pelt, 2 wolf fangs, and a wolf heart. Interesting," I murmur. I get up and do the same to the others, but this time I think loot instead of saying it. Good thing that worked, it would get annoying having to say that over and over again.
Now that I have my loot, I decide to explore a bit. I walk towards the wall furthest to my left to see if I can get my bearings a bit. When I get there I see a few mushrooms and vines covering the wall. "Hm, wonder if these are edible," I say. I grab a mushroom and throw it in my mouth. Ugh, bitter. I swallow it real fast, hoping it's not poisonous. [Status buff blocked]. I quickly look at my status and see that it was poisoned. And that voice that spoke was sort of mechanical, unlike the World System. "I wonder why I'm not poisoned," I say to myself. After looking at my status I see a new buff called, Immunity. I look at it closer and read the description, "Immune to all poison due to race." Well, at least I know I can eat anything now.
I walk further along the wall hoping to see something to give me a clue as to where I am at. I'm also thinking about my stupidity. Why in all of the hells would I eat something potentially poisonous? I wasn't born yesterday. I was born today after all. "Pft, hahaha. I crack myself up." But seriously, why did I do that. It's like I couldn't help it and I just did it. Oh well, a question for another day. Oh, wait, I see something up ahead.
I get closer and see what it is. It's a dead guy... Um, okay. Guess I should loot the poor bastard and see what I can find. I start searching through his pockets and remember a key skill. Loot, I think to myself. "Holy," so didn't need to see a naked dead guy. I look through my inventory and see something quite useful. Oh yes, the holy grail of all holy grails, a location map. I pull it out of the inventory and it crumbles to dust. "Shit, thought I was getting lucky, but no, just had to step on my sensibilities a little more," I say frustrated.
Wait, I see my status blinking in my minds eye, so I open in. I see a mini map, sort of like a three dimensional object, and seems a little blank. I read the location above it, "Death's Embrace, Dungeon, 3rd floor." Well, I guess I know where I am, if a little bit. I look at the floors again, and sure enough, multiple floors. "Seems I'm about in the middle of the dungeon, so I guess I might as well, right. Clearly I should go ahead and clear the dungeon to gain some experience and power level."
I look at the mini-map one more time and head for the stairs to go lower. as I'm walking I see a wolf next to a bush. Hm, guess I'll attack it to see what I can do, instead of relying on my instincts. I rush forward and the world slows down greatly. The wolf dies before it even knows what hit him. I throw a quick punch at its face, and the wolfs skull caves in. "Holy crap," I squeak out.
I look at the wolf, completely amazed I've done that much damage. I quickly loot the wolf and continue on my way. There seems to be a path up ahead, so I run to get to the next floor faster. Of course, more wolves attack me, so I one hit them all. About 6 wolves attack me in total. On one of them I tried a breath attack seeing how it would activate. I just thought breath attack, inhaled, then exhaled. Let's just say I may have accidentally disintegrated the damn thing. No loot from that one.
After getting to a hole in the wall I see a set of stairs leading downwards. "Hm, well, what do I have to lose," I say. "Lets do this." Approaching the stairs I see that I've leveled up to level 3. I quickly check my status and see 3 attribute points available. I put them all into luck making it reach 15. Well, guess I'm ready, I think. I walk to the stairs and start heading down.
