Chereads / The Rise of Azurath / Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Escape!

Chapter 6 - Chapter 6: Escape!

I walk with confidence down to the next level of the dungeon. 'If I'm this strong here, nothing can touch me,' I think to myself, smiling.

I also decide to allocate my points won for leveling up. "Huh, what's going on," I say, puzzled. How do I have so many points, I wonder.

"30 Points to allocate, wonder why." I look into it a bit, and what I find astounds me a bit. 'I received the same amount of points equivalent to my level, huh.' I shake my head a bit, and decide to space them out this time across the board.

I put 5 in luck, 10 in wisdom, 3 in intelligence, 4 in dexterity, 4 in agility, and 4 into strength. I left vitality alone, since it's at 100 already. I pull my full stat sheet up to inspect it, just to make sure it's correct.

Indeed, everything looks to be in order, I nod to myself. I finally get to the bottom of the stairs and step through the door. I look around, seeing a waterfall in the distance, and cliffs everywhere. There is a beast standing on top of the cliff, looking right at me.

[ Monster, you have disobeyed me for the last time. How dare you go against me, your creator]

I freeze in place, wondering who just talked to me. I look back to the strange beast on the cliff, but it's no longer there.

[ My monsters will devour you, feasting on your flesh...]

The voice goes quite, and my eyes widen. 'That was the dungeon, most likely,' I think to myself, smirking. "How are you going to kill me, Dungeon!? Your monsters are too weak for the likes of me."

[Skill Gained: Inspection]

Huh? That was my notification wasn't it... A flash catches my eye, and the beast is in front of me. I see a level above its head, along with HP and MP listed.

[ Feral Lion King, Boss

Level: 50

HP: 100,000

MP: 80,000]

"Well, guess that solves that skill, but dang, you have 32 levels on me. How is that fair," I pout. The beast vanishes in front of my eyes, and I feel something hit me in the side, hard.

"Ahhh," I scream, as I fly a few meters away. I gasp, holding my side, and I feel blood. I try to crawl a bit, but the pain hurts to much.

I finally feel my senses tingle, and I look up. The beast is stalking closer, as if I'm its prey. 'Shit, if I don't get out of here, I may actually die.' My HP has dropped significantly. I have about 100 left. I feel that if the lion wanted me dead with that hit, I would've been dead. I think it's toying with its food.

It gets closer, and I feel intense fear well up inside of me. That's when something in my head clicks, and the next thing I know, I'm running back to the stairs I came down. I don't know why the lion didn't attack me, but I made it to the stairs.

When I get back up to the 4th floor, I'm frozen by another feeling. 'Is this killing intent,' I think dazed. My eyes widen on the scene in front of me. Multiple rock giants, far more deadly than the one I defeated before. My body reacts again, but this time I notice that I'm soaring far above them suddenly. I look over my back, and I see a pair of gorgeous golden wings holding me afloat, beating very fast. I'm so shocked I can't even speak, so I focus on going faster, back to the 3rd floor.

After I get back to the 3rd floor, I feel danger again, but from behind me. I look back and see the lion from the 5th floor, so I book it. I quickly find my way to the stairs and head up to the 2nd floor.

Again, the lion followed me. "Shit, will you just leave me alone," I cry. I fly as fast as I can towards the next floor hoping to escape this beast. I finally get to the stairs, and quickly head up. All of a sudden, I don't feel death crawling up my spine.

I look down the stairs, and I see the lion looking at me. It turns its body back, leaving me alone.

I swipe my head, wiping sweat off of it. "Ugh, that's what I get for getting cocky, I guess." I'm still gasping, and I put my hand to my chest, trying to slow down my heart beat. After catching my breath, I head through the door to the 1st floor, sighing to myself. All of a sudden I hear a crash behind me, and I spin quickly. The doorway to the next floor has been blocked.

*Roarrrrrrr!

I freeze in terror. I slowly turn around, spotting what made that sound. I feel sick, and lose hope. I feel tears leave my eyes, as I realize, I'm probably fixing to die. Standing across the cavern blocking the doorway out of the dungeon is a massive creature.

[Death Dragon, Boss

Level: 60

HP: 1,000,000

MP: 5,000,000]

"Ah, hahaha," I laugh. I feel my body trembling hard. I decide to fly up, to find an advantage, if there even is one. The dragon's eyes follow me as I ascend. I try to see over it, but from what I can see, it's hopeless.

The dragon turns its head slightly, still looking at me. I decide to see if one of my breath attacks has any affect on it, so I inhale, and exhale, releasing an energy breath at it. The dragon flicks its tail, deflecting my attack easily, sending it right back at me.

I see it coming, but it's far to fast for me to dodge, so I cross my arms in front of me in like an x, and try to withstand it. "Ughh, Ahhhhh," I grunt, feeling it hit. I quickly feel myself being pushed back, then overtaken. I feel so much pain all of a sudden. I start to fall, rapidly descending towards the ground at least a few hundred feet down. My last thoughts are quite simple, 'Not even one day has passed, and yet I'm already fixing to die, huh.' My eyes close, and my body slams into the ground, everything going black.
