Chapter 57 - journey to a thousand years

"it's been years since I've seen Phaedra... I wonder how he's been doing?"

to be specific, it's been a couple war's month (360 days) and two spring's month (900 days) since the whole fiasco about some government... at least that's what Sis Rin told me... we're currently on a gigantic boat they called Ikarus but isn't this supposed to fly? perhaps it's too early... for it...

murmurs and a gathering of people are in the main hall right now. the guild is now on the B3F and the server nodes are on the second floor. it's quite big for a ship... like... a country's big... how they were supposed to sent this ship to the real world is beyond me...

also, it's been quite a while since I've seen Aunt Mei too. I've been told that there will be a person guarding me at all times. if so then that must be the robotic child I keep seeing now and then back on that other place...

"!... ----" I don't understand... nothing they say is still a word for me... but I'm not with Big sis right now, she told me that I'm fine being with them but they all look menacing...

"ahh! Phaedra!" I see a familiar guy wearing a mask. white hair, stuffy clothing, and a diamond pendant, that's certainly Phaedra! but he seems to be talking with someone today...

I walk up to him and he finally noticed me! I hope it wasn't that important...

she continued to talk and the guy he was talking to waved his hand goodbye... is he finally finished?

...

"Osiria! it's a pleasure to finally meet you again- ahh... sorry, my habits got the best of me..."

he started talking but in a rather calm and formal way... it was like he was seeing a queen or something...

"no- it's fine" I smile at him and he started trotting back and forth until-

"ahh! I know, why don't you sit there and tell you a story? like always"

I want some stories but-

"hmm... well then, if you're not all that busy, then I'll gladly tell you a story, two stories to be exact! so?" he smiled at me gleefully... how could I say no...

"f-fine... then would you please?" he chuckled then proceeded-

"d-don't come-" before his final words were even finished, his neck was already sliced cleanly, blood splattered everywhere and the knife was dirtied with bloods with different kinds of humans

the one who stood immensely in the shadows was none other than Ron, a prominent Survivor of the Ship Ikarus, although unlike the usual quests, he's been given special request none other by the guildmaster, Tion.

his quests were none other than assassination and monster analysis requests, missions given to higher-ups ranked above survivors, he was infamous- infamous enough to be the most wanted in the whole world.

the comm started emitted a static sound- the static dissipated and revealed a calming voice- it was Tion himself

"good work, your task next will be eliminating the Church from the Islams, are you fine with that?"

Ron clicked his tongue- "are there any more?..." while Tion was gathering quests, Ron took the Veil and the ID of his former target who was dead headless. his name didn't matter, he just simply took it and grabbed everything he deemed valuable

"not enough..." he said to himself- he looked lonely- depressed, but his face betrayed his emotions. a smile demonic enough to be called one of Satan's, crossing his face from ear to ear as if he was simply having fun-

"ahh! here we go- an assassination for Malaysia, his name is not needed I assume?" with the confirmation, Ron responded with a yes and Tion sighed-

"I'll send a picture, I'll also send an ether trail of where he was seen last by our spies, do your best"

a travel back to Malaysia, he has no other choice other than cancel this request but-

"assassination missions are better for me..."

among the leaders of the Adventurers, Tion was an honorable guildmaster, caring for his comrades more than the others but-

"where did the righteous Ron go..." he thought to himself.

while organizing some files, a girl entered the room, it was Philia, the head guild attendant of the Global server. she bows with dignity and-

"Gui- *ahem* Captain, the Chinese Guild master would like a word with you" gleaming with maturity and Etiquette. it was as if the past was something she'd rather forget.

"inform them that I'd rather visit them later, I won't make any compromises" with his final orders, Philia bows with her final departure.

"tis such a shame Mr. Tion~" while looking at the everlasting sea just outside the window, a man wearing a black tuxedo and rather slender heels that seems to be capable of piercing one's heart. there have been a few instances of his visits but this was a first time for the short years

"I see... how's master Helios? has he finally departed?" Tion sits down rather calmly even facing the devil himself. the devil laughs sarcastically.

"my oh my- Mr. Sakuraba, would you please refrain from speaking like that to my client? it's a bit- unsettling." he seemed casual at first but the final word he sent to Tion was seething with bloodlust. Tion doesn't even know what the Devil himself was thinking, nor did he care even.

"I've already opened the gates of hell once I reincarnated back to this world... I don't care how evil nor how righteous I become in the future, and I know full well that you can't touch me without Helios' orders." Tion clicked his tongue, out of spite? was he quite sure that he's death was guaranteed to be postponed? but nonetheless. the Devil Chuckled-

"hahaha... you know me so well Mr. Tion, I would as much like your soul but I am rather sad that I am shackled to this contract... but perhaps... would you like a contract? for the future of your comrades, they will be sent to a holy ending! led by your god or gods yourself! they will see a brighter death!"

a contract- Tion already knew his plan and so did the Devil himself knowing it. of course, both of them knew the answer

"no. we've already sworn ourselves to the Devil once we abandoned all humanity. you have no right to even send us to heaven nor do we have any dreams of. simple-mindedness aside, I heard you've been following Aiha..."

the Devil resumed his fake smile and tone, but he never tell a lie-

"I have, I am rather curious about him... he's... an anomaly should I say..."

Tion was already aware- his faces, whenever he meets him, doesn't align correctly or rather- he changes.

"have you asked him yourself?" Tion asked the devil but he shook his head.

"I'm afraid my time is up Mr. Tion, I do like our every meeting and your future actions but it seems I'm much busier than my past life... if you please" with those parting words, the Devil, Satan himself disappeared. no trace nor hints of his arrival were seen, not even the camera, it was as if Tion himself hallucinated.

Tion sighed, leaning back with his head facing the ceiling, his white hair sank down and closed his eyes-

"I'm tired..." he took one big sigh and stood up with lifeless eyes as white as snow.

"there we go- ahh... you're asleep... Wendy, please carry this girl on our back and send her to an inn here, it should be in the bottom floor with a symbol like this."

the wolf howled silently and carried Osiria on her back, but no one seemed to have noticed.

"it seems that I'm once again being analyzed again I see... that Devil is as troubling as ever..."

with a long Dufflebag that has been emitting never-ending aura as if it was a shadow.

"my quest isn't finished... those goddesses..." silently mumbling the final words, Phaedra disappeared in the crowd. a faint, black, bird rested in the crow's nest as if he was on his departure
