Tristan and Joanna made their way out of the Frog World where the Frog people were enjoying fish. Then Tristan told Joanna to report to the government and Tristan also made some calls.
After half an hour the entire place had been sealed and several government admins came to observe the newly discovered space crack. Joanna explained her investigation as well as intelligence about the space crack and the frog world as well as the fruits and herbs found inside the fragment.
The admins were impressed by Joanna's work and were discussing with each other. "How did this kid go under the radar for so long? Who is the supervisor she is under?"
"It seems to be Josiah... that fat man is known to be corrupt. He didn't even do the stringent talent testing, it appears her brother had to do it for her."
"Is the brother a member?"
"He is vast expanse. It seems he is a victim of one of the incidents and memory work was ineffective on him. That's how Miss Joanna seems to have joined the government as well."
One admin was talking to Tristan. Tristan shook his head. "Which organization my sister chooses to remain in is her decision. Personally, the treatment of the government seems terrible, she has been doing missions for several months and yet not even did the government test her talents, but her supervisor was basically using her abilities to scrounge up points for himself.
I had to conduct her talent test and provide her with a couple of spell formulas from my own credits."
The admin was embarrassed as well. Clearly the supervisor seemed to have been suppressing a young talent and he had no words to say. "We will try to give her the best training possible, and not let a young talent be suppressed. The opportunities are there in the government and we will provide them if she can grasp them."
Later, Tristan and Joanna went home. Tristan asked Joanna. "What did the admins say?"
Joanna laughed. "They said I would be enrolled in their specialized training program as a reward for investigating this mission. Apparently there is a secret training at Eastern University for people in the Hidden World."
Tristan smiled. "That's good. Just don't tell anyone about your harvest regarding the Energy Body Path." Joanna nodded.
Joanna asked Tristan. "What practice are you following?" She had been regularly asking Tristan about the hidden world and now knew much more than ever before.
Tristan smiled. "Me? I'm following a path inbuilt with humans since ancient times of surpassing the limits of self. At the moment I am at the boundary, waiting for the right moment to evolve, until then I have a relatively stronger body, nothing else. A mage could beat me with a struggle."
Joanna was shocked. "Humans can evolve?" Tristan nodded. "Humans can evolve, but it is hard. Much harder than growing stronger by cultivating or learning magic."
"Then why are you following this difficult process?" Joanna asked.
"I have a talent for the human abilities, but at the same time, I am unable to practice any foreign method not created by humans."
Tristan picked up a magic spell formula in front of Joanna. "Fireball spell, the simplest flame spell. I can completely understand it, but when I try to execute it..." Tristan tried to run the flow of energy within his body to channel a small fireball, but his hand glowed and nothing happened. Instead the sky darkened and thunderous roars could be heard in the sky. "It will fail."
Joanna was stunned. "Did the sky become stormy because you tried to use magic?" Tristan nodded with a bitter smile. "It's a long story. I'll tell you about it some other time."
The next day Joanna returned to University, while Tristan was busy browsing through the Vast Expanse. He needed to investigate the truth behind the shopping incident to evolve.
From his current knowledge, he already knew something. The woman who had crashed into his store that day... belonged to a hated enemy of mankind called demons.
Demons were a powerful race that controlled a junction world just like Earth and there were no direct world connections between the Demon World and Earth, however both sides had been civilizational enemies and constantly fought proxy battles in intersecting foreign worlds.
Tristan wondered how Demons had come to earth and most confusing of all was why that demon lady exploded in his shop.
The Vast Expanse did not have a lot of information surprisingly. Apparently an infiltrating demon had been discovered and intercepted by government admin known as Quinn.
Tristan thought for a bit and called the government official Fisk, who had once lent him his business card.
"Hello...may I know who is speaking? Fisk asked.
"This is Tristan Flores, you once gave me your business card and told me to call you if I ever needed help."
"It is you... well what do you need this time?" Fisk asked.
"I want to get in contact with the admin known as Quinn." Tristan said. "Please help me out."
"Admin Quinn? Why do you want to talk to him?" Fisk asked.
"It is a personal matter. I need to speak to him." Tristan replied.
"Haa... Admin Quinn... is a very calculating individual. If you want to interact with him...be prepared to pay with something." Fisk said.
An hour later Fisk messaged Tristan saying he could call Quinn on the given number at 6 in the evening and Tristan did just that.
"Tristan Flores... I heard you wanted to talk to me? I looked up your file, I'm surprised you somehow found me linked to your incident."
Tristan stayed quiet for a bit. "Admin Quinn, I wish to acquire information about the Shopping District Explosion Incident."
"I know. But Information is never free. Meet me in Sweet Life Cafe near the ring road in an hour."
