Joanna was shocked. "How come I've never heard of them?"
Tristan laughed. "Well obviously the government doesn't want to lose people by spreading the information."
Joanna stayed silent for a moment. "Tristan... are you a part of the Hidden World?"
Tristan nodded. "I am a part of the Hidden World. When you came home, I could detect that you had learnt some basic mage spell and so I wanted you to spill the beans before saying anything."
Tristan then opened his smartphone and searched for an item on the Vast Expanse network. He spent 5 credits and immediately purchased it. Within seconds, the object teleported above his watch and was caught by him. When Joanna saw that she was stunned.
"What... what did you do?" She asked, her mind in chaos.
"I just purchased an item. It is to test your talents. Don't worry." Tristan said. "Hold it."
Joanna held the glass orb that Tristan had made appear and soon the glass orb began changing colors quickly. Joanna just kept staring at the orb and Tristan who looked nonchalant. Finally the orb stopped glowing.
Tristan looked at his phone, which was displaying the results of the orb, which was a talent tester. "You have a talent for magic, particularly fire and ice magic. Your physique is also highly compatible with cultivating an art of the fire or ice element. Either the The martial alliance or the mage tower will be happy to enroll you and even teach you. It will be better than the government which didn't even have the brains to test the talent of its own personnel." Tristan shook his head.
Joanna felt ashamed. "Well, the government did give me 5 credits and told me to check my talents, but I thought it was a waste of money and just bought the cheapest spell formula instead." Tristan coughed. Joanna then asked. "Which organization are you a part of?"
"Vast Expanse. It is essentially a Mercenary Guild." Tristan said.
"So which organization should I commit to? I don't know much about hidden world." Joanna sighed.
Tristen looked at the sky. "The hidden world is very dangerous. Much more dangerous than you can imagine. Being as you are now is not a bad thing, but you won't have the power to protect yourself, but at the same time you will be far away from danger. If you stay with the government, they could help you if you become powerful."
"Is the government a strong organization?" Joanna asked.
"There are some very powerful people in the government." Tristan said.
Then Tristan thought for a moment. "I'll help you with learning magic and cultivation as well as resources. You can send the results of the test to the government and see how they treat you. Let's go back home for now."
When Tristan and Joanna returned home, Joanna was much more cheerful than before and felt like all her burdens were lifted.
Next day Tristan bought a few mage texts as well as spell formulas for Joanna's use through the vast expanse and gave it to her. Surprisingly she managed to learn the spells fairly quickly.
Tristan called Joanna. "Pick up 3-4 missions in the Coastal City area, I'll help you finish them off quickly."
Joanna was surprised. "3-4 quests in a day?" But she didn't hesitate. "Okay, let me check."
Soon the two had taken a cab and were heading to a cliffside on the beach that was rumored to have monsters lurking in the caves.
Tristan and Joanna arrived and began looking around. She saw Tristan being carefree and admonished him. "Be vigilant." He nodded.
From the atmosphere of the cave, it was clear that something didn't feel right to Joanna. Suddenly she saw a group of weird two legged frog like creatures with spears rushing to the shore and entering the cave. Panicking, she tightly gripped Tristan's shoulder.
Tristan looked at her and smiled, mouthing not to worry. He walked in quietly behind the group following those frogmen and Joanna followed. Then they saw that inside the cave was actually a space crack.
The two came back out of the cave. Joanna looked at Tristan. "What was that?"
"It seems like you've found an undiscovered space crack. It seems like these frogmen are from the world on the other side." Then tristan looked up some information on the Void Expanse.
"This is a known species. The frog people are actually low level species of mermaid from the Deep Ocean World." Tristan said. "Let's go in, we might not get to clear the other missions today."
Joanna was confused. "The mission was only to investigate the area, we have already completed the mission, no?"
Tristan laughed. "That is just the basic mission. Amd even without the mission, this is potentially a goldmine. Come, quick."
The two then crept into the crack and discovered that it was actually a cave similar to the the one they were in. The two carefully crept out and Tristan noticed that there was only one frogman guarding the mouth of the cave and otherwise, the beach looked empty.
Tristan took a stone and threw it at the frog man's head. With his current physique, he had to control it from exploding the frog man's brain and knock it unconscious instead. Then he quietly dragged the body inside. He took out a small communicator and attached it to the frogman's head and slapped it awake.
"Ribbit!" The frog man cried but saw the two humans and was instantly filled with panic.
Tristan didn't care about the reaction. "Is this the Deep Ocean World?"
The frog was shocked that it could understand the language of humans, but shook it's head.
"Is this a fragment of Deep Ocean World then?"
The frog nodded. Seeing the human's eye grow colder it panicked and started speaking.
"This is an isolated fragment of the Deep Ocean World, however there is very little ocean within this fragment and it is mostly land so we use this space crack to borrow ocean water. It is a small world, unlike the human world." The frog said.
"How big?" Tristan asked.
"As big as a beach near the cave on the human world."
"So small? Why did this part of the world split?"
"I don't know. Only the king might know."
