I stomp out of the elevator, launching my mask and hood across the room like a boomerang. Zane and I had a business meeting today. It didn't go very well. We couldn't agree on anything. Zane is still angry at me over Sirena. I close my eyes, seeing Sirena and that guy, Cole, in my head. It has been a few days since I saw them. But the memory is ingrained in my memory. They looked so perfect together. He's the type of guy that Sirena needs. Not someone scarred and broken like me. It's so easy for Zane and Sunny to judge. They don't understand that I just can't step into the limelight as easily as they can. I can't take her out and pretend that I don't feel the penetrating eyes of strangers looking at me and judging me. Sirena deserves better than that.
