Chapter 27: Awakened

I'm awakened from my dreams when a knock resounds on my door. I look at the clock, shocked to see that it's four in the morning. Nika must have left her key again. Rising up from the bed, I walk carefully to the door and open it up. To my surprise, I see Torin standing there. I haven't seen him since I ran into him at the restaurant. "Torin. What are you doing here?" I whisper, looking down the empty corridor. He gives me a smoldering look and gestures to the inside of my room. "Can I come in?" I hesitate for a moment but quickly relent. I can never say no to this man. He moves past me and closes the door behind him. Keeping some distance between us, I watch incredulously as he begins to pace around the room. He reminds me of a sleek tiger walking back and forth in its cage.
