Zero is standing on the apex of the ridge observing the obscene safety of the man-made stairs. Rocks were scattered on a pattern similar to a staircase with nothing to hold unto. The height of the stairs, upon reaching below, could be roughly estimated at around 9,427 centimetres down below. Zero could hardly see the figures of Mr. Snow and Lilith, halfway-through, descending on the stairs. Tiny dot like features could be seen deeper in the abyss, which supposedly to be students participating in an arena-like training ground. With a defeating sigh, Zero starts his long journey marching down the stone made stairs.
He cautiously steps on the pile of rocks, steadily sliding, comfortably placing his foot simultaneously after another. This technique is commonly used by hikers upon climbing down on a distorted terrain. Upon safely landing one's foot, maximising the space on a spot, it reduces the traveller's risks from falling or getting heavily injured upon a particular area that the foot may somehow slip or a site which the foot is currently rested would fall or slide due to the weight of the said individual. These occurrence happens consistently to novice hikers who aren't careful enough to mind the safety precautions when entering an unknown gallery. By following the procedure, the traveller could focus more on the next platform to be step upon, eventually reaching the bottom floor.
Ironically, Zero had watched too many videos of 'surviving in the wilderness' (A talk show that provides tips for beginning hikers). Who knew that these sort of random fact could aid him at these unplanned events. He picks up his pace, foot by foot, arriving steadily at the bottomless pit.
30 minutes had passed from his adventure, eventually progressing on the nether part of the stairs. Despite being hidden under the surmount stairs, ample quantum of light source illuminates the vast space.
"Few more…blocks away…" he heavily pants and wipes off his face, using his white furry towel, drenched in sweat. Moreover, his uniform is now awfully soaked in his own perspiration, creating a large splash-like paint on the back side of his azure blazer. Most of his senses came rushing back to him as his mind overheard these familiar voices below.
"Zero, we're here~ Lilith waves her hands and began shouting his name,
followed by their director, making an annoying expression which he has to experiences waiting for him.
Finally, he launches his foot on the marble ground with passion, re-enacting a parody scene of Neil Armstrong who first landed on the moon. Zero regrets himself unappreciated from the ground he lifelong walks on.
"Ground, you're really my best friend~" tears flows from his eyes as he caress the ground, leaving his two companions in an embarrassing state of mind
"Is he your new student, Snow?"
The room was filled with exotic sounds produced by various groups of people wearing a uniform suit. They are wearing a branded V-neck shirt, personally modified by the university itself. Upon observation, these shirt are extremely comfortable pairing up with their loose jet black pants. Each student wields unique weapons; staffs, wands, broad swords and the like. Moments before, they were all too focused on the proctor guiding them on their movements. But apparently, a weird old man, appeared on the middle of the crowd took everyone's attention. They weren't gazing on the appearance of the old man. They are all currently looking at Zero's… pathetic demeanour, intimately kissing the marble floor.
He deliberately asks this question, locking his eyes to the student smooching their ground. As soon as Zero realises what he was doing, he immediately recovers his stature and begins to act normally like nothing had happened.
"Hey everyone" he waves his hands in an awkward manner, reminiscing the actions he had did earlier.
"Haha~" he couldn't help but laugh at his own patheticness, hoping everyone around here could delete the horrible memory of him performing 'things'
"That was truly an unremarkable sight Hahahaha~" the old guy, who appears to be wearing a white cloak, produces a loud laugh that echoes through the wide room. He also has a long white and greyish beard swinging on the tip of his chin which ironically looks similar to Santa Clause during Christmas Eve. A wooden staff, imbued with an unpigmented gem attached on the tip, is found affix on his clothe. He also has a golden cross entangled around his right hand and neck, making him look like a cult who wish to invite anyone to join their religion.
"We are the Holy knight! My name is Abaddon, a user of light and the sole representative of the Mage Council of our very own country. It is I, indeed" Abaddon Waves his wooden staff and does a majestic bow upon introducing his name.
