The part once again entered the first floor. They were greeted by the sight of several skeletal mages staring at them, behind them was a small legion of archers. Cyan couldn't help but think to himself "Isn't the difficulty set too high for a beginners dungeon?"
Left with no other option he barreled into the group of mages as the entire legion of skeletons shot a mixture of spells and magic towards him. His eyes easily caught the trajectory of the projectiles, as he countered the attacks with a handful of thrown arrows. small balls of ice formed in the air as the arrows collided with their targets. rooting the mages in place.
His body twisted and turned as he began to dodge the volley of arrows, still several of them struck him, leaving him bleeding and wounded. The rest of the party took the opportunity to attack the mages who had been frozen. The mages magic having no use as they couldn't move. they fell quickly to the party as another wave of arrows flew towards them.
Cyan did not hesitate to dump a canteen of water on himself. causing his wounds to rapidly heal and he charged the archers. His sudden charge causing the arrows to strike the empty spot of his previous location. He slaughtered his way through the legion of undead. His attacks that did not immediately kill his targets caused ice to form where he had struck. The bodies of his victims slowed considerably with his attacks.
The archers did not simply let him slaughter them. they shot arrows at his location even as they retreated. In their simple minds he was the biggest threat, and they ignored the wolves who had begun to circle behind them. Beka had taken advantage of the skeletons distractions to slip into stealth, and her blade could be seen occasionally picking off an enemy from the crowd.
Arrows continued to rain down on him, But Cyan ignored them as he continued attacking his prey. A thought occured to him in the midst of the carnage. Why are they all so weak? He couldn't dodge all of the arrows, mainly because there was a plethora of the undead firing at him. Their arrows were only barely able to penetrate his hide.
Hadn't these monsters been a lot stronger a month ago? These mages had caused him to be laid out for two weeks with the injuries. Now they seemed just like fodder.
The last of the legion of archers fell, and Cyan wiped his blood stained brow. The pack and Beka looked at him with a look akin to horror as his blood slowly started to seep back into his body. He could feel a weird suction force in his body as the moisture in the air mixed with his body causing his body to clot keeping the blood he had lost and reabsorbed to stay.
Burr's words echoed in his mind "A hydromancer can manipulate all forms of water." "The human body is made of water". This must be an effect of his water body he thought, even if it was reduced because he did not have the proper levels or achievements it was had to be at least an advanced level skill. "This skill is simply a cheat, if nothing stops it my body will simply absorb the blood it loses back into it. The clotting will even help help me heal faster."
Cyan flinched as he flexed, one of his clots tearing a little causing a small amount of blood to seep out before being reabsorbed. "It seems that I will still need time to heal however." as he walked he felt a chill fill hos body, he looked down to see small ice Crystal's covering his wounds. He simply shook his head at how over powered the skill was. "This is definitely not a skill a level 3 should have. No wonder the humans would suppress the beastman by killing their king over and over. If only they had a being this powerful Their dominance would be permanent"
The party did not encounter a group as large as this one for their remainder of time on the first floor. They stopped for a few days at the safe room to allow Cyans wounds to heal and resupply their dungeon water rations.
Within a week they had once again cleared the first floor, the black portal once again appearing before them. This time however they were prepared when they entered. Cyan had Beka gsther as many of the staffs as she could, that way she would have a weapon she could use against the ghouls they would be facing on the second floor.
