When the party arrived at the third floor they realized it was very different than the other floors. The first two floors had been like a maze, they traveled through it, looking for enemies and eventually cleared the floor and made their way to the next floor. The third floor was set up differently. The third floor was a room the size of a football field. It was filled With skeletal mages, and to a lesser degree ghouls. There was not an archer to be seen.
Cyan estimated there was around 150 mages before them, their eyes locked on the party. The remaining 50 were the beautiful ghouls. He could not help but wonder why he had not seen a male ghoul out of all that he had slain. But that was a question for another time.
The question for the current time was how were they, a group of 6, to clear a floor that was stacked against them. Cyan looked behind him, Instead of the portal that should have been there he was greeted by the sight of a stone wall. There was no retreat from this floor, only advancing.
He counted the arrows he had. All three of his quivers were full, leaving him a total of 60 arrows. Far from enough to deal with the massive amounts of undead before them. He stood there pondering, How exactly was he going to deal with this? How were they going to survive?
He sighed and after much thought sent the pack away. Just because he was destined to die here did not mean they should join his fate. Chica gave him an indignant look as she felt herself disappearing, a growl escaping her throat as she realized what was happening. "No! Cyan let us..." Her body disappeared before she could finish her sentence. He shook his head and whispered. "I'm sorry Chica, I can't let you sacrifice yourself for me. The pack must live on."
A grim look appeared on his face as he once again examined the small army in front of him. He could not believe his eyes as the two hundred man strong army had been refused significantly. There appeared to be around 70 of them left. 50 of them being Mages. "If only I could send you away to Beka. I'm sorry."
Beka shook her head in response. "We are not dead yet. Besides I still have 20 grenades."
"20 Grenades and 60 arrows, maybe we can do this. Let me see one of the grenades"
She obediently handed over one of the grenades. He could feel the corrosive mana flowing inside of it. Acid? that was an earth type magic. "I can feel the mana flowing inside of these, I can feel it pulling mana from its surroundings, pulling it from me." he thought to himself as he held the orb. He felt something inside him moving towards the orb, His water embody began to mix with the corrosive energy in the grenade. a notification appeared in front of him but he ignored it. Continuing to let his mana flow into the orb.
The orb slowly changed colors. Before it had been a yellow, bit by bit a sliver of his water mana began to enter the orb, subtly merging with the corrosive mana inside. A few minutes had passed, and he had only brought about a small change in the orb. his mana had been exhausted and he needed to allow it to recover.
He looked at the notification that had pooped up.
[mana flow lvl 1] Allows you to pour your mana into an object, either to activate or alter it. The rate at which mana is spent is effected by level.
He was interrupted by Beka speaking to him. "Its rather odd that they can sense that we have entered the floor but have not taken any action. These dungeons truly are game like. If we don't enter their aggro range or attack it does not seem like they will attack either."
Cyan nodded. "Anna told me this world was very game like. Its strange, but in this instance it really helps us. It allows us to make a strategy. I think that these grenades will be our biggest asset. I just need to adjust some of them so that we have more options."
The process took a day, His mana flow ability had leveled up to 3 through the process, and he had converted 5 of the twenty grenades into ice type, while 15 were still the corrosive type.
"The plan is for you to remain in stealth throwing the grenades at the undead while in assault them with my arrows. Try to hit more than one at a time and target the mages first. Hopefully I can get a few shots off before I have to deal with the Ghouls."
