"One might assume that water is a weak element, after all it is well water. But water can be destructive, especially when mixed with another element. Water and wind can make a hurricane. Water and earth can make mudslides. Water and fire can make steam. But water by itself, when one reaches the advanced stage of magic is just as destructive as the other elements. "
"I'm sure that you are aware that every living being is made mostly of water. A hydromancer can manipulate all forms of water, in any form. Liquid water, Ice, or even water vapor are all fair game to a Hydromancer. This means that you can potentially harm your opponents from the inside if you so desire once you reach a high enough level. You could even grant pleasure if you so desired. But for now this is all useless. "
"There are five stages of being a mage. The first stage is not exclusive to mages, and does not have a formal name. From level 1-10 a mage is not truly a mage. They can sense mana flow, and use simple level one spells such as fire ball or elemental blades. fireball is a spell that only mages to be can learn, but elemental blades is a spell that anyone can learn, it is a passive effect that takes effect automatically. "
"The second stage is called an apprentice mage. This stage is from level 11 to 30. Mages can learn level 2 spells at this point. "
"The third stage of magic is called the adept stage. This stage is from 31-50. This is also when regular mages are at their most powerful as this is the extent of their magics growth. At further levels they would be spent upgrading their existing magics and learning new magics. The level of magic that is available raises to level 3."
"The fourth stage is called the Arch mage. This is the level that as a king you will stop at, and where Elementalists lie. It can be reached from levels 51-70. The spell levels available are level 4."
"The final stage is the Master stage. The master stage is not available until level 100. This is the level that princess's and specialists will stop at. The spell levels that are available are level 5. However a master stage mage will only be able to learn a single level 5 spell. A prince or princess will be able to learn a total of 3."
"After level 100 there is an additional type of magic. Every ten levels a mage can create their own spell. This magic does not have a level, but they magic they can create is limited by the magic they can perform. Theoretically a regular mage could create a spell more powerful than a master level spell, as they have a more diverse knowledge of magic. "
Burr took a deep breath as he finished speaking. They were currently sitting inside his little apartment in the church. It had been roughly a week since there battle and the wounds of both parties have healed to an extent. Cyan was actually fully healed, though he was still mostly bald as his hair was only regrowing slowly. The abundant water from the well outside the church had helped his healing process a lot.
"Did you understand everything I said? I can't really go into specifics about your element as it is not my element of focus. What I told you is about the extent of my knowledge, and I only know that because it is the weakness of my own element. Both of your abilities are passive, one of them has no cost, while the other only costs you one mana per attack. As long as you're not stuck in a situation where you have to attack hundreds of times your current mana recovery is enough to sustain it. "
Cyan nodded as he listen to the words. He had spoken to him the words several times over the last week, this was just a reminder before they left. It was early morning outside, the most ideal time to enter the dungeon. Burr had given them each some rations, and a bag to hold their supplies. Both Cyan and Beka had also grabbed and addition canteen, which would help them adventure longer while in the dungeon.
The group of adventurers left the old chapel, and stood in front of the crypt as they said their goodbyes to the Three headed pug that had played host for their party. They had all enjoyed the moments of relaxation they had been given while resting in the chapel.
They all had looks of determination on their faces as they once again advanced into the crypt. Behind them the familiar figure of the guild leader appeared next the Sir Burr and Russ as the group disappeared into the dungeon.
"You did a good job, but why did you throw the fight? you could have still battled the young wolf."
the pug shook his head. "It would have been pointless. He had already learned what I had to teach him, and what point would there be in revealing my true power to him?"
The dragon in human form nodded, as the pug shifted into the form of a giant black dog with three heads. The eyes of all three heads had a look of vast intelligence as they watched the entrance to the dungeon. "so what will you have me do next Empress?"
The dragon thought for awhile before speaking. "resume playing the weak pug role. I do not know how effective Beka will be as a spy, and I need someone to monitor his growth."
The giant dog nodded as he once again resumed his pug form. "As you wish empress."
