"One Day Hunt" °•○●
The forest was filled with the sounds of young children and teenagers. Anyone who was able to group up quickly in the outer court of the school headed towards the eagle's nests without fear, thanks to a few inner disciples leading into the forest. As the inner disciples had been ordered not to interfere in any normal situation, they had only come to observe.
He also had another secret mission. They hoped to find people who had hunted all the wolves in the mountains closest to the school. Someone who remained in the outer court even though his level was high was suspected. They received special orders from their teacher to watch out for the powerful ones hiding in the outer sect school district.
..
The large group, mostly around ten years old, fearlessly marched to the eagle's nest, as there were no wolves in the areas around the school anymore. There were only 15-16 year olds among them, and not more than ten people over the age of twenty. They were all people who had been in school for a long time or who had dared to enter the forest because they trusted their group. And in this huge group, no second-level mage or warrior was allowed to come.
In other words, this huge group of people, close to two hundred people, consisted of people of 3rd level and above.
One of the inner disciples at the very front of the group looked up slightly uneasily and thought that something was wrong.
"It's so weird..." He shook his head as his own friend next to him looked at him. He didn't want to upset those around him.
But deep inside he realized something. For example, the sounds that should have been in the forest were strange. It had a very quiet and calm feeling. Even the presence of simple small animals was not felt. He had already accepted the absence of wolves and certain animals leaving the mountains around the school. But now they were deeper into the forest. And still no wild animals or even normal small animals were in sight.
This young man, looking around with his red-dyed hair and handsome face, was more afraid of the younger students around him than himself.
Having always faced a lot of problems on his way to the eagle's nest in the past years, he understood that this situation was too strange. Unlike the other students who didn't understand the situation and didn't care, this young man really thought about the well-being of the big group next to him. And because of his sense of responsibility, he looked everywhere for dangers that were not yet visible.
If he had seen the boy's green robes and his usual smile only to those he loved, Ren would have recognized him immediately. It was the attendant who had met when Ren first arrived and flew away.
William.
There was a different William now than the last time Ren had seen. His hair was dyed a light red color and a small earring was attached to his left ear. Despite the clothes he was wearing, he looked more muscular and bulky. But the pure and good expression on his face was still the same.
Always very thoughtful, William has always been one of the few to go outside for the occasional work opportunity. As a level 7 mage, at only 22 years old, his simple requests were never denied, as he was considered very talented in school.
While trying to suppress his bad feelings, William heard a faint bird sound for a while. It was a simple, very low-pitched sound. But it was enough for William to turn his head and summon the three inner-field disciples beside him.
Just as they started to talk among themselves, a larger bird sound was heard this time. The other inner disciples next to William also heard this voice. This new sound was closer and clearer. And his tone was harsher. It was as if an order was being given.
With the second sound, all the students who were about 5 miles from the eagle's nest began to hear eagle cries from all sides. All of a sudden it started to turn into a battlefield. First, second and third rank eagles began to fly from all sides. They especially attacked those they deem weak, inflicting some damage and escaping.
Seconds later, a new scream was heard. In an instant, all the eagles, struggling to be a distraction, backed away. And the greater and more powerful eagles, numbering no more than ten, began to soar above the group with objects they carried in their mouths and talons.
Small objects began to fall on the group of two hundred as William and three other inner disciples tried to cast defensive spells to protect themselves.
At first a few children thought the eagles had pooped on them and smiled. But when the objects fell into the places where the big groups were together.....booom....the explosions started!
Explosives were dropped at regular intervals on the children, who for several minutes tried to defend themselves in vain. The eagles retreated when there was almost no one left unharmed, as smoke, howls, and screams were heard in the wide area where the student group had spread out.
William could see that no one was dead. Raising his hand a few times, he prevented many students from being seriously injured by the small winds he created. But as talented as William was, neither strength nor energy was enough to save everyone.
Almost everyone was injured by explosives with a large explosion scale. William and the other uninjured inner disciples gathered and began to speak. They did not understand how this attack took place. But they decided that these explosives, which caused even the fourth rank warriors to be clearly injured, could not be natural.
William looked up at the eagle that had just been screaming and giving orders. He could be an alpha if he could give orders to such a large flock.
"Everybody retreat to school. Get back now or you'll die. I'm canceling the Eagle's Nest event!" His powerful teacher at school had given him full authority. He could do whatever he wanted if such extraordinary things happened.
The students, who were slightly injured and still wanted to continue the hunt, cursed at William's voice. But they had nothing logical to object to. There was an alpha in the jungle that could threaten anyone, and it would be foolish to mess with the eagles right now.
Already after the problem with the wolves, the school asked the students to stay away from the forest. But they had allowed it simply out of tradition and curiosity. Now, without causing even more problems, William started taking the whole group to school.
William tried to find any evidence among the dents and shattered layers of explosives on the ground, but there was nothing he could grasp. It was a highly effective yet simple explosive! It was an incredibly simple explosive.
"There are people who know alchemy. Besides, they must be at least level 4 or even level 5...." William would be surprised to hear that Ren, who made these explosives, didn't know a single thing about alchemy.
..
It took much longer for the entire group to come back. They took a lot of breaks on the way back as they were hurting because everyone had severe or moderate injuries. And everyone was thinking about how they could get treatment. The simplest therapeutic items were sold at expensive ding prices, while even the simplest medicines were worth half or an energy tablet. The school's medicine and potion sales were always very expensive.
Elixir for internal bleeding was 5 tablets, remedies for meridian and dantian troubles were 20 tablets or more. So Arc was selling all kinds of drugs at exorbitant prices. So, there was no glimmer of hope for these children.
While the whole group was returning, they were unaware of the counter and the signs set up in the school square. Nobody knew yet that hundreds of potent and varied drugs were prepared for sale by Ren.
In fact, no one had yet realized that this event was only the first of Ren's ways of making money.
When the group returned to school, everyone attributed the disappearance of the wolves to the fact that these eagles had cleared the forest from them.
