Hearing a voice in his head just as he was about to emerge from the water, Ren almost fell backwards.
"Human!
You have enough power to use the first skill of the weapon you have equipped."
Ren realized that the female voice inside the ring on his finger was speaking. Just as he was about to answer, the voice continued on its own accord.
"If you pour all of the energy you currently have into the ring twice, the ring will allow you to use the first ability. You will now have the ability to identify the objects inside the ring and see them in ways that others cannot.
This ability will evolve with you when you reach level 6 and every time you evolve in the future. This ability will change slightly if you reach higher levels. You will also be able to understand the items aren't in the ring. Human!--...
He was trying to understand what the voice was saying, and when he suddenly shouted "human", Ren really fell into the water. As he sprayed the water entering his nose and mouth, he heard the last sentence of the voice and was surprised.
"...--Human!..take care of the ancient weapon D.S.."
The woman's last sentence still echoed in his mind as Ren dressed and began to return to his eagle's nest. It took an hour for the echo of the voice to disappear from his head.
..
When he returned home from the forest, Ren lingered to himself, seeing that everyone was beginning to meditate. Knowing that the entire group needed to meditate using lots of energy pills and crystals, he tinkered with a few errands he saw around.
In the parts where the eagles slept, he renewed the parts that he had burned with his own flame and played with a few cubs. He wouldn't even let a baby Ren touch his body. And Ren struggled to touch the little baby's entire body and forcefully loved it.
He had felt from the first day that it would be very boring to spend four months here without going to school. For now everything tasted new and fun. But when they felt the bad parts of constantly toileting in dug wells and eating the same things – things would probably get boring after a week or two.
"I'll go crazy if I can't find something to do." It wasn't even evening yet, and he was whispering to himself with this thought.
That evening, Ren had already prepared dinner when everyone had finished their meditation and stood up. The children had a great time all evening. After all, they were all healthy, young and positive. A seemingly impossible operation had recently ended. They were lazing around and embarking on an adventurous wildlife in the forest. Ren was bored but even he agreed.
Life here felt more exciting and utopian for now.
..
One day later.
Ren woke up to the day with a huge beak poking his back. He tried to understand the scene in the dream he had seen at night and was very confused for a while. What he saw was a garden with lots of flowers. And the dream was over when Ren called it "Garden".
Actually, the dream was not over. He couldn't watch the sequel only because Alpha Eagle had woken him up at five in the morning.
Ren just smiled mischievously as he couldn't just get up and let everyone else sleep. Then he stepped on everyone one by one and jumped on some of them with his whole body. Waking them all by shouting, he missed Nami, whom it was impossible to wake up. This crazy girl was never awakened by others unless she woke up by herself.
When breakfast was over, everyone went back to meditation. Though Ren tried to wake Nami, thinking it might be a bit boring, the girl snored even louder with a strange voice, and she didn't wake up.
"I wonder if I should burn her? I'm sure she'll wake up if her hair caught fire." Nebua, the only mage and warrior of the group other than Ren and Nami, smiled devilishly. But Ren shook his head.
I tried to burn her foot yesterday. She she did n't.
"Whoa!"
Ren took a walk into the forest and began to examine it, to understand the talent the ring on his finger was talking about. His feet automatically led him to the waterfall he found on the south side. On the way, he tried to examine one of the items in the ring, which he did not know what it was.
Nothing happened..
Remembering later that he needed to transfer energy to the ring, Ren poured his energy little by little along the way. When he came to the waterfall, he sat in a place that looked like a beach and leaned his back against a tree. He continued to pour all his energy into the ring rapidly. He was a level one mage when he first started using the ring. And the ring was able to instantly absorb all the energy he had acquired in a few days.
Although now at the 4th level, the ring suddenly began to swallow energy like a huge black hole. And just like before, all his energy was gone in seconds.
The ring wasn't pulling at full speed like the first time, and Ren could control the speed. How much energy he would give was in his control this time. But he still felt that it was still far below standards. His energy was either too little or of very poor quality. Maybe both.
Desperately feeling all of his energy forcefully pouring into his arm and ring on his finger, Ren popped one of the creature crystals in his mouth and began meditating. Within a few minutes, he filled his own energy with the crystal. And he did the same thing again. No matter how much energy the Ring sent into Ren, it was momentarily absorbing it all.
Ren was fine, not counting the sweat on his brow and the muffled tiredness in his body.
He started to fill the void in his dantian for the third time with the crystal he threw in his mouth.
At that time, he realized that he did not have enough crystals or energy pills to reach the 5th level, even if he did not interrupt the meditation here. He didn't take enough with him, he left everything in the eagle's nest.
Also, even though he had a lot of energy pills and tablets, there was too much energy to get him up from level four to level five. There was no way to calculate. But maybe tens or maybe hundreds of crystals were needed.
And Ren realized that it was time to hunt, considering that crystals from alphas did not have the same amount of energy as normal crystals. He could leave the normal and useless tablets to his friends and use the crystals from the animals himself.
In particular, he spent some time considering whether it would be more profitable to kill or tame the alphas. But in the end, he decided that in the long run, alphas would be very necessary. He sighed at the tablets and pills in his ring, remembering not to kill the alphas while hunting.
He felt like rich people at that moment who had a lot of money to spend, but the money didn't do them any good. If he had a chance to trade all his energy tablets and pills for crystals, he would do it without hesitation.
Finally, when his body recovered with energy, he stopped meditating. He was breathing more easily and his headache had lessened. At that moment, a small orange cat from the forest slowly approached him. He looked calm and harmless. Unlike his wild and deadly cousins, he looked like a normal pet. He calmly came to Ren's lap and laid his head down. Except for the occasional mutter, it didn't bother Ren.
While Ren petted the cat with one hand, he concentrated on the ring and made a small examination. Among the items stored in the Ring, he could now understand what things he had not known a few hours ago.
"Finally!"
He didn't know much about what they were. But, for example, he was able to understand that the crystals he had stolen from the warehouse were special alchemical materials.
He didn't even know their names. But he could see what they were good for! And this was a very important discovery for Ren.
For example, one of the crystals was quite unique. It turned the water in it into a very effective poison in a month. Or a bunch of crystals that make pain-killer pills in an hour. He also found crystals that produce drugs that close bleeding wounds or make severed limbs come out. Having such an interesting talent, Ren didn't know what to do with joy.
Searching for crystals or liquids that might be of use to explosives, he turned the entire item area on the ring upside down. The sun was up and scorching when he finally found something that might work for him.
He rearranged all his things now that he knew what they were for. It was noon when he was done. The sun on the hill hit his face. Ren took off his clothes and jumped into the water under a sunlight that made his green eyes shine.
The orange cat lying in his lap was also glaring at the water, as if saying "don't leave me" to Ren.
Seeing that the cat was very timid, Ren amused himself a bit and walked towards the waterfall. The cat stretched out its paw into the water and pulled back, then stared at Ren's back.
Ren didn't notice the cat staring at him with humanoid eyes.
