Chapter 21 - You Are............. NOT an Infidel

"Auh... Thank god!" Adin sighed in relief. "Toilet? Really? Who was that weird man? I was scared to death thinking he knows my identity. It'd bring a lot of trouble if he knew that I'm the Demon King. Thank god, I'm saved. But still... what's with this Magical Pressure? He can't be a normal man, who is he, really..."

Going back to his room, he used the chance to take a nap in his 2 hours time.

—2 hours later—

Adin woke up from his brief nap. It was going to get dark soon, so he had to get his horse and move fast if he didn't want to travel at night.

"OOOOUAHH! Damn sleeping is so boring," he yawned, stretching his arms, "It should be time. I have to leave now."

He took his equipment and walked downstairs. When he reached the ground floor, he saw something really unexpected.

Everyone in the inn hall was dead. Blood could be seen everywhere, shed on the floor, walls, doors, chairs, tables, and splashing from the ceiling. The whole place was reddened by human blood.

That bloody picture would never fail to shock people, but Adin's face didn't look to be affected after seeing such a horrible scene. Yet he looked confused. Adin didn't know what had happened in his nap time.

Opening the entering door, he moved out of the caravansary, walking slowly in the town. He could smell blood from everywhere. Giving more attention, he didn't sense any living human. All of them had already died, and only one Magical Pressure could be recognized.

Adin needed his horse from the stable to get out of the town, and thus he headed there. He could also feel that immense Magical Pressure at the stable's location.

As he reached the stable, he could see a towering, slender figure in black, standing amidst two rows of stalls. That tall man was the same horseman whom Adin had met 2 hours ago.

The blood had reddened the setting of the place, due to the bloodshed that had happened in his absence.

The tall man held a long narrow sword with his right hand. Both his clothes and sword were covered in gore. Another human body happened to be fallen on the ground beside him, though it was just a corpse.

"Ah, you! You're the toilet guy!" Adin said, pointing his finger at him.

"What? Who are yo—" the man paused as he turned his look, remembering Adin's face, "Oh... it's you! My savior!"

"Heh? Your savior? What're you talking about?"

"Yes! If it wasn't because of you, I'd not get saved."

—Eh? What's wrong with this guy? I just told him where's the toilet, that's it! How can I be his savior?

"And what's with all of this blood? Why's everyone dead?" Adin asked, scowling at him.

"Oooh... you mean these sinners?" the man responded in a kind tone, smiling at the dead body under his feet. "They were all infidels, so I just cleaned their existence."

Adin didn't really care about those lost human lives; he was Demon King after all. However, the person before him had done a lot of troublesome deeds, and Adin would be responsible since he was present in the town at that time.

—Infidels? I see... now I get it. That full-length black uniform should belong to the inquisition section of Jove sect in the East Kingdom. But what's he doing here?

"So... you're from Jove sect? Are you from the East Kingdom?"

The man's expression became furious after hearing Adin's question, frowning defiantly. His welcoming voice also changed to a harsh one.

"Don't get me wrong!" he shouted, glaring at Adin. "I have nothing to do with those infidels!"

—What? Just who's this guy? He's so weird... If he's not getting orders from the East Kingdom, then what the hell is he doing here? What am I supposed to do? I tried my best to avoid troubles like this, and yet troubles keep coming to me one after another!

"My name is Angelo!" he screamed, raising his bloody sword in the air. "My job is to assure the cleansing of the infidels in this world. I free the darkened souls and sinners from their chains and help them to face their divine punishment. I bless the lost souls and guide them to be free!"

Directing the sharp tip of his sword forth, Angelo gave Adin an angry stare. "And who are you?"

Adin stopped thinking. His fake emotional face disappeared immediately, changing to his usual bored expression and revealing Adin's real impression.

"I'm Arian, just a normal archer in the West Kingdom," Adin replied, staring with dull looks at Angelo.

Angelo's glaring looks slowly turned into kind stares, causing a soft smile to appear on his expression.

"I see... so you're not an infidel, Arian, my savior!"

Adin had no interest in continuing that stupid conversation with Angelo. He began walking to the stall he had left his horse. After reaching the right stall, Adin found his horse dead, blood encircling its fallen body.

"Hey... why did you also kill my horse?" Adin asked Angelo, turning his bored look from the stall to where he had stood.

"Oh.. that horse? Because he was an infidel!"

"H-huh? Really? how can a horse be infidel?! And why my horse?"

"I don't discriminate between species. An infidel, whether a human or a horse, should be purified!"

—Eh? Seriously? How can a person be this much weird!??

Adin started checking the other stalls in hope of finding some alive horses for his trip, but all of them were dead already.

"...And why would you kill all of them?" Adin once again turned his bored eyes to Angelo.

"Well... all of those horses were infidel," Angelo replied.

—HUUUUUUUUUUUUUUH? Seriously? Then how the fuck am I supposed to travel to Thunder Plateau normally? To think I wasted so much of my time avoiding trouble, and then this weird guy appears and fucks up everything!

Adin couldn't hold his anger anymore. He wanted to kill the man before him immediately.

—Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him! Kill Him!

However, Angelo's next words calmed him down.

"Do you want to go somewhere, Arian my savior? My horse is not infidel, so we can use her to get you where you want. I will gladly help you, my savior!"

A feeling of frustration overshadowed Adin's face. Although moving with someone like him would be too dangerous, walking alone would be far more troublesome. He had no choice but to use his help to reach Thunder Plateau.

—So many weird people. So many boring people. Can't I just try to die in peace without those...
