Chapter 26 - I'm Wendy, NOT White Flame

—White Flame my ass, it's a White Bride! Curse you, Angelo! Just what have I put myself into... Another annoying woman. Damn, just damn! All this time I spent to come here, it's all been useless! What a waste of time! Boring... too much boring!

Adin no longer cared about his fake behavior. He broke his social mask and revealed his angry face to Angelo.

Adin glared at Angelo, shouting at him fiercely. "Explain this shit immediately, Angelo!"

"I have no idea," said Angelo, raising his eyebrows in ignorance, "but since you've done the true love's kiss on her, doesn't that mean you're her true love? I guess?"

"True Love, my ass! That frozen princess is just a mythical story! Shouldn't this woman be sent from Zeus? Where's the White Flame? That was exactly why I came with you here! I just did that kiss to break the crystal layer. There wasn't supposed to happen anything like this!"

"Well, my knowledge is also limited, my savior. But there's no doubt about it, she is the one descended from the Heavens. She's Zeus' envoy. She's the answer to White Flame and Thunder Key. She must be related to the Guardian."

"Damn..." Adin sighed, closing his eyes while lifting his head, "damn it! Just the moment I thought I'm going to get the answer..."

Angelo's looks appeared to become a lot more suspicious while watching Adin's movements and behavior.

The woman in white suddenly started talking, interrupting Adin and Angelo's talk. "What are you two talking about?"

Her voice would sound like a calm breeze, as soft as an angle's wings and as soothing as a gentle heat of the sun.

She wore an intricate lace shawl, emerging from the top of her head and reaching under her shoulders. The bodice part included a pure-white laced corset. A detailed red necklace was worn around her neck, made of a lot of tiny jewels fastened together. Her short revealing white skirt wasn't long enough to touch the ground, ending before reaching her knees. She had white pointy high heels, jeweled with some gleaming scarlet gems.

Her red hair waved in the air as she moved her head around in irritation, a look of annoyance appearing on her face and her cheeks flushing with anger.

"I'm not any of those things you're saying!" she shouted, yet her voice sounded so smooth, "I'm not White Flame! I'm not Thundery Key! I don't have anything to do with that frozen bitch, nor do I have ever met Zeus! I....Am....W-e-n-d-y! I'm Me! Just Me! I'm Wendy!"

Angelo didn't care about her identity; he would only care if she were related to White Flame, Thunder key, and thus Zeus. He wanted to enter Olympus and he needed the Thunder Key for that. It was the only thing he cared about.

The Thundery Key, Zeus, and Olympus weren't really important for Adin. He only wanted the White Flame. Adin also didn't care about her identity; he didn't care about her at all. He would only care if she were related to White Flame, or if she herself were the White Flame. His purpose was to find the four flames, and if she had nothing to do with the flames, then she would be useless for him.

"Just who are you White Flame?" Adin directed his looks at her.

"Yeah, just as my savior Arian said, who are you Thunder Key?" Angelo asked her too, turning his stares at her.

"I'm neither White Flame nor Thunder Key. I told you, I-am-Wendy!"

"Yeah, yeah, whatever... so who are you, Wendy?" Adin asked again.

"Who I am? Hmmm... Oh, I only remember two things: My name's Wendy and..." she put her left hand on her chin, tilting her head to the right while thinking deeply. "You're my husband!"

Wendy focused her looks on Adin, smiling gently. Her benevolent smile was topped by her kind stares, flowing from those two gleaming red eyes straight to Adin's confused face.

"Huh? Who?" Adin looked back, trying to find someone behind him. He then pointed at himself while staring at Wendy with confusion. "You mean me?"

"Yesssssss! I'm your wife!"

"E-eeeeeeh? Whaaaaaaaat?" Adin exclaimed, his eyes widening in surprise. "No... Nonono! I'm not your husband! I'm not your love! You don't love me! I don't love you! Because that's boring! You understand?"

"Hmmm..." Wendy once again closed his eyes to think, opening them again and putting on the same kind smile on her face, "No! You're my husband! That's already decided!"

"Heeh? No! That's not decided! Because.... I-DO-NOT-WANT-TO-BECOME-YOUR-HUSBAND! You see? I should also accept you!"

"Hm? What're you saying, my husband? You kissed me, didn't you? If it weren't the true love's kiss, then the curse wouldn't break. So it means we're made to be together! Forever as Husband and Wife!"

"Didn't you only know two things? How do you know about that kiss?"

"Well, yeah but I'm not stupid my husband. I heard it from you two talking about it."

"Damn... but no that doesn't mean we're husband and wife! I still don't want to be your husband! Don't you get it?"

Wendy put on a smug smile on her face this time. "It does, my husband. It does mean that we're gonna be together until the end of the world. You kissed me and broke the protection. You've already kissed the bride, so it means we're officially married! Now whether you accept or not, I'm your wife! You have no choice here!"

Adin sighed in disappointment. The story that Angelo had told him about could just be a mere rumor. This woman could just be a mistaken person.

Yet He couldn't deny that those wastelands had become like that unnaturally. Those were destroyed by a strong force. It could've been Zeus or anyone else. Adin understood that there's a lot of things about Wendy, but he wasn't sure whether she's related to the flames since she appeared to be completely ignorant about herself.

However, she could still be related to the White Flame, which Adin was desperately trying to find.

Although it was so boring to have a woman like her beside him, he had no choice but to let her come with him. Adin didn't want to lose even a single clue about the flames.

"All right... All right..." Adin sighed again, facepalming in frustration.

"Yayy!" she exulted, walking to Adin and taking his left arm while sticking herself to him, "so... where should we go for our honeymoon, 'Aaaaaadin' my dear husband?"

She looked much shorter than Adin in height, her head barely reaching his shoulder.

"Hey don't take me wrong! I just meant it's OK for you to stay with me, that's all—"

It took a few seconds for Adin to realize the important thing about Wendy's words. He had changed his name, and he would no longer be called "Adin". So if someone called him by that name, it would mean they know his true identity, like Ena and Freya.

Since he was too bored, Adin didn't give a lot of attention to her, and so he didn't understand it immediately. But as Adin realized the situation, his eyes got widened and he started sweating. Adin then looked down at Wendy with more attention, seeing a smug smile appearing on her face.

"Let's live together till death do us part!"
