[ PING! Are you not going to be using your skill points? ]
Naomi casually glared into the emptiness in front of her as she was trekking through the Dungeon corridors. She was beginning to wonder if this system was impotent in its previous life, if it even had one. "Meta-sama, shuddup. You're hurting my head with your Pings... Are they even necessary?"
[ PING! Nope. Just thought it'd get your attention, and a reaction. ]
"Ah..." The girl frowned at this and shook her head. As she was walking through the purple hued structure, her eyes drifted from torch to torch.
With each step she hardly made any headway, she was still hours away from the main entrance of the dungeon. Surely there was no other way to travel here, right?
What was her older brother always bitching about in some open world games? Right... Quick Travel, that sounded nice. A small smile formed over her lips. She now seemed to figure why he was always screaming at his game whenever it took so long to get place to place.
Then if he died, he'd throw an overbearing tantrum.
Her lower eyelid twitched slightly as she remembered how he threw his laptop across the room, which she had bought him for his birthday with her own allowance.
She never did that again!
Shaking her head as she was letting her mind roam in the past, she would slowly come to a stop and rested her shoulder against the wall.
Sigh. There was nothing to do other than to walk or to read that journal she had put back in her inventory with the rest of the unconcealed items in that one pouch.
"Waka!" A Goblin produced itself in front of her, its little green arms flailing in the air. It seemed to be smiling up at her, jumping. "Waka! Wakwa!
She stared at the thing as it seemed to be making little cute gestures she couldn't even dare to comprehend. They didn't seem at all to form a logical coherent or cohesive pattern. Was it not speaking to her.
She wore this blank smile on her face, one she used to fool people into thinking they were being listened to or understood. Nodding slightly, she tilted her head to the side, placing her hand on the top of the small being.
Suddenly it seemed to become rather calm, it stopped making little 'waka' sounds too.
Strangely despite its ugly face, large nose and beady little eyes, the elasticity of its skin was strangely appealing. It was like playing with really thin clay. She began to swish her hand side to side between its long ears on the top of its head.
For as long as she was touching it, the goblin didn't move.
"What's your name little guy?"
Suddenly a green colored translucent screen appeared over its head depicting "
She stared at this before raising her hand. Suddenly the screen disappeared and the goblin went back to its little gesture game whilst yelling 'Waka' over and over again.
"...Am I going to have to educate this Dungeon into speaking English...?" She stared at the thing with a dull look in her eyes, which were being overshadowed by darkness generated from her bangs.
With the tone she used, the Goblin froze for a moment before taking a step back.
"Perhaps Cuteness wouldn't be a bad idea to go with..." She seemed to have this strange intimidating factor towards this little guy and probably the rest of the Dungeon.
"Meta-sama, how many monsters are in this Dungeon?"
[ PING! There ar-- ]
"STOP PINGING!"
[ Fine! As you wish Princess! ]
Cocking her head to the side, poking her finger up against her lower lip, she didn't seem to like this either. "Hm, nevermind. Keep using the Ping, it's weird when you're not being a flamboyant twit."
[ PING! Thank you Ms Badmouthed Loli! ]
"... Call me a Loli one more time..."
[ PING! As I was saying, there are multiple level one Goblins, Giant Rats and Spiders in this Dungeon! Did you not read all the information on the Dungeon Interface? ]
"Were you not there the entire time? No, no I didn't." Letting out a sigh, she glanced around the general area surrounding her current position. There was three other Goblins in this particular corridor. There were a number of other rooms lining this doorway.
According to the dungeon interface she had looked at before, these rooms and various parts of the corridors compartmentalize, like the belly of the Titanic. Though probably a lot more effective, considering the Titanic's outcome of April 14, 1912.
This meant that Adventurers were forced to quickly fight room to room, before they can reach the treasure room, the next some doors only opened after a previous room is cleared.
It was the same when it came to the boss room and the treasure room.
Based on the information she gained, this was a low leveled Dungeon, one which catered to low level adventurers... Now that she thought about it, if this was for low leveled adventurers, she gulped.
What would happen if some adventurers didn't return!? Would they send someone to investigate what happened? Would they send a subjugation force just for her!?
Panic began to instill itself in the back of her mind, causing her to squat down with her arms around her knees. Her eyes shifted side to side as if she were reading her own thoughts.
What was she going to do?
She killed those Adventurers without thinking of the consequences!
Oh God she actually killed people!? Was it because he referred to himself as her older brother? Or was it because she felt the need to!? Did that 'God' do this to her?
God, that God definitely made her into a killer. She didn't even kill ants in her last life! How dare he make her kill people who are trying to steal her dungeon!
"Best friend my arse!"
[ PING! Uh... Don't think too much about it. Adventurer's lives are exceptionally short... Plenty of people have died in this dungeon before you came here. They're evil, so they have no choice but to die here by your hands! ]
Blinking a few times when she heard this system speak to her, it felt as if he was trying to groom her into killing people for some sort of cause.
Was this the Holy Crusade or something? She wasn't about to strap a metal helmet on her head and scream DEUS VULT, no way.
"Meta-sama, you're not allowed to comfort me anymore," she'd whine in agitation as she leaned her head against the wall, her black hair dangling to and from the side of her head. Her eyes seemed quite empty when she said this, like that of a person who had been deprived of joy.
[ PING! Heh... Alright. Lets get moving then! Maybe we'll fin-- ]
"No motivating me either..."
[ PING! Eh?! ]
Noami stood up from where she had squatted down and pulled the blue overdress off of the white and gold attire. She then stuffed it into her
She was now visibly in a white dress with gold trimmings. She had an underdress, it'd look as if she was a wealthy member of the choir or maybe the clergy, which earned a snigger of her own.
Opening the
"Oh... My sweet Pete, yes..." She moaned aloud as she used the teleportation option.
Reemerging near the front entrance of the Dungeon, she stared out towards the Lake which had come into view not too far off in the distance. A genuine smile curving over her lips.
[ PING! Milestone Reached: Translocation Used for the First Time! +5 TP ]
[ PING! Level up! You are now Level Three! +3 SP +25 AP ]
[ PING! New Skills available! ]
[ PING! Two more levels until Attribute Evolution is available. ]
"Attribute Evolution?"
[ PING! Newb. ]
Unfazed when she was called a newcomer in an annoying manner, she crossed her arms. "... What's Attribute Evolution, Meta-sama?" As she was asking this, she was walking towards the exit, until her feet were resting on good ole terra firma.
[ PING! Acuity, Agility, Intellect, Fortitude, Force and Prosperity. ]
"Aaaah... I have any idea of what Acuity, Intellect, Fortitude and Prosperity is... but what does Force entail?" She wasn't familiar with the game attributes, they weren't the same as what Tony had described the various editions of Dungeons and Dragons as. "Does it let me move things with my mind~?"
She wiggled her fingers in front of her towards a rock near the slate entrance.
Not that she really remembered most of it.
[ PING! No... It's Strength. What else would it be other than some fictitious energy from a movie you watched just because of one of the actors having a cute face? ]
"... I'm rather happy no one else can hear your voice, while I strangle you with my words."
[ PING! What? ]
"Nevermind." Dragging her bottlenecked booties through the dirty grounds of the forested Ravine, she made her way over to the lake and stared up towards the sky.
"What's that?" Her eyes narrowed on a rope bridge well above her head and the forest itself. There was someone dangling there, something flashing, something shiny. Her pupils seemed to get huge, "It's a Shiny... I wants it..."
[ PING! Skills Naomi! Skills! ]
High up above, she could hear the cries of a young man. "HELP!" His pocket watch dangling from the pocket of his regal red forked jacket.
"Your Highness! We'll be right there!"
A knight stepped on the rope bridge, it practically screamed and started to untwist.
"I HAVE TO SAVE IT!" An adorable boomed, "Meta-sama! My skills! I choose..."
