As she listened to the approaching footsteps, Liang Yunsheng's heart skipped a beat.
She covered her mouth with force, afraid that she would be discovered if she made even the slightest sound.
Her heart pounded in her chest.
The puppy seemed have sense Liang Yunsheng's emotions. It laid silently on her knees.
"Where did that wretched girl go? Damn it, I really didn't expect her to have so many tricks up her sleeve," a man's voice said.
"If you weren't such a pervert she wouldn't have escaped," a woman sighed.
"Since Yin Qianchen has already agreed to come, the girl is useless."
"The people around Yin Qingchen, however, aren't simple. I was careless," the woman said through gritted teeth.
"This place is far from the city, impossible to walk back on foot. We just need to wait for her on the main road. She can't return to the city without a car."
"Wait. There's a sound! Over there, by the rocks."
Liang Yunsheng's body trembled.
The puppy broke free from Liang Yunsheng's grasp and rushed out of the rocks.
"It's just a dog. The thatched cottage has been checked and there's no one there," the man said in a weak voice.
Liang Yunsheng listened as the two voices gradually silenced. She let out a sigh of relief once they left.
The puppy re-appeared at her feet and shook itself.
Maybe he just thought those people were there to rob him of his home.
"Thank you," Liang Yunsheng said quietly, touching the puppy's head.
Liang Yunsheng wanted to leave the rocks, but a fear that the kidnappers hadn't gone far enough sunk into her bones.
So she waited.
When she was sure no one else was around, she slowly walked out of the rocks.
'Where can I actually go now?' she thought.
She felt very lost, so she just kept walking forward.
The sky gradually turned from dark to bright.
The sound of hurried footsteps behind her rang in her ears. She didn't dare to look back. She picked up her pace to a run.
Thinking of how she'd stabbed the man, if she was caught by them, the result would likely be worse than the first time. She quickened her pace. But so did the person behind her. The footsteps grew closer.
She hadn't eaten and her ankle was still twisted. She never stood a chance. The chase was over as her shoulder was grabbed.
She was caught!
Since Yin Qianchen had agreed to meet with the kidnappers, she was useless. That didn't stop her from trying to run.
Liang Yunsheng didn't dare to think about her fate. She just waved her arms as she tried to struggle out of the person's grip. "Let go of me!"
