Chapter 3 - 03. More people, more surviving chances

The next few days people that supported her called her about her plans and what she wanted to take. From shovels, hoes, axes, wood cutting strings, all made from indestructible material that wouldn't even change the color or sharpens even in hundreds of years, she bought them all.

"I need books. How to plant, how to survive, how to build, I need it all. Tutorials on how to make different things. Send or bring me books and materials that I could use to survive. Anyone has old-time camping gears, real cotton clothing, ropes and things like that?" She needed to continue to talk to them even if most of them declined her invitation to go with her.

Humans of this era were scared of anything they didn't know. But seeing her wish to start a new life they fully supported her. For years they could see her fighting in everyday life.

Seeing her not giving up like others and fighting to survive they found it refreshing and supported her as much as they could.

Sandra didn't waste time. She bought many things with the help of her supporters. She would walk to the beach and leave one thing after others. All packed in safety boxes as her own property.

She would then come back with a flower that she would put in front of their screens and they could see how it withered and died in just mere minutes.

It was the truth... She really found a secret path. But as it should be left secret they did by share it with others. Her secret was only for them and if nothing else they felt honored.

Days passed. She found big wheels and brought them to the other side and finally first packages started arriving at her address. Books, camping gears, pills, books, stones for fire, manuals, clothes, and then things she was worried about came to her hands as well. Kitchenware, knives, seasonings, pots, pans, more books, and then seeds. All sorts of seeds. And food. So much food that she was happily crying in front of the camera. If she starts anew in the new world with her family, who knows how long it would take them to find food or to wait for the food to grow.

So any bit of food they could take would be a matter of survival.

The day before her family came, a group of people arrived while pulling a huge carriage filled with all kinds of things. There was no more alive horses or other animals that could pull, so they did it alone.

Sandra was happy beyond imagination. "Welcome. Are you all coming with me?" In her gear, she couldn't walk too fast. Last time, she was way too excited and tried to run, on end she wasted precious air and it took her too long to get out.

She was now calmer but she planned to waste a few more breaths to help them. As she arrived she even saw few children pushing the carriage from behind. "Welcome." She said one more time and they laughed.

One man while pulling started talking. "Sorry that we are not talking. The air in our masks is already quite polluted as we spent most of our air on these things and carriage. We can chat after we bring these to the other side."

People online started cheering them as Sandra joined in with pushing. Every little step was hard, but the moment they went out and saw a beautiful picture they were amazed. Sandra stood in front of them and smiled.

"Could one of you come with me and give a report if this place from your view or should we not do that?" She was stunned when she saw them suddenly taking their gears off and taking mouthfuls of mouthfuls of air. She stepped back as her gear was the most contaminated.

The older man smiled at her gratefully. "Thank you for this. Could you take the gears out and just buy something for it. Food if you can?"

Sandra smiled from inside. ''No problem." She was about to leave with bag full of protection clothes when she heard children laughing. They were standing in shallow water and the small waves hit them cooling their feet and making them wet. The new sensation must feel really good.

She sighed and went out. In the nearest store, she exchanged practically new gear with packages with food and drove it to the entrance. She slowly brought package after package out and carefully discarded the outer shield so the packages could be used.

After a while, she was so exhausted that she had to sit down. Her filter was full and she took out her last one.

Soon she brought them all and went back to her vehicle. She went on the back seat and closed her eyes. She was really tired this time.

There is just less than one day left and she was feeling quite anxious. Only one family arrived and her family is still not here. What to do?

She slept for a few hours and suddenly a sound woke her up.

Vehicles, many... She jumped straight out and saw a large crowd walking heavily out of the large ones. Children, so many children, What is going on?

One man came to her and bowed slightly. "Hello, I am headmaster of child institute in the nearby town. My daughter is your supporter and is as well on her way here. She met your family and they are near as well. Soon they will be here." He explained while many people started arriving and rushing towards the entrance.

Cheers could be heard from the other side as the people started taking out the protective gear. "Miss, what should we do with this?"

She pointed at the direction of the store. ''Go there. The owner of the store told me he will buy off all the protection gear and hidden technologies in exchange for food. Food is important. "

He just nodded and sat in his vehicle. As he rushed off, others heard what she said and did the same.

She turned her head towards the man that still stood next to her and smiled. "When you all enter I will come in and exchange the gear for the foods for you as well. " He nodded but then looked at her pale complexion behind the protective mask.

"We can do that together. Don't forget, this is not only your work. For you to open your channel and invite everyone to your secret path, not many would do. Stop exhausting yourself. From now on we need to survive together."

He followed the crowd of children and after while he came back with two more helpers.

"They will go to the store and exchange the gear for the food and you can just wait for your family. You must be quite anxious?" He could literally feel her nervousness.

After she anxiously conformed he tried to calm her down. "I think it's kind of strange... That new world, don't you think?"

She was shocked. At first she was just as stunned as he, but does that matter now?

"Maybe, but do we have another choice? I was a reporter for so long. What we did to destroy our beautiful nature, who else could know more than I did. They choose to make a new world on another planet, but never considered to stop polluting this one." This world was doomed to die soon as the garbage was practically everywhere.

Only in their small, enclosed spaces they could take off the protective gear and walk comfortably. She was anxious and happy.

Finally, she will be able to take off this gear and walk freely together with her family.

Soon, very soon...
