Leo awoke the next day and got ready extra early for work. Though he was able to calm down the night before, he still couldn't stand being in the apartment. There was a tense and stiff atmosphere all around the area, in which he hated.
He hurriedly got ready for work and left the building.
As he walked out of his building, he saw a familiar profile in a sleek black car. It was Mr.Coleman.
Coleman got dressed and ready that morning very early as usual. He preferred to take his time and be able to relax, instead of rushing. That was just a personal choice for him though.
He put on his suit, then left with his chauffeur in his car. Many thoughts were going on in his head, most were questions about Leo. He wondered about the boy's past.
As he went his normal route he saw a familiar small back walking in the crowd.
He tapped the seat, "Pull up."
The driver pulled up a little bit in front of Leo and Coleman rolled down the window.
"Hey Leo," Coleman called with a small wave.
Leo turned his head and his bright green eyes shined as a smile was placed on his lips. "Oh, hey Mr.Coleman."
He walked up to the car and stood in front of the pulled down window.
Coleman smiled a bit and asked, "Would you like a ride to work?"
"N-no it's fine, plus I don't want to impose or anything."
'He's so shy. It's cute. Wait, why am I thinking he's cute, he's just my assistant!?'
"No no, it's fine. I insist," Coleman added a bit of charm into his words since Leo was being stubborn.
Leo thought about what he should do for a minute before saying, "If you insist."
Leo walked to the other side of the car, then opened the backseat car door. He settled in and closed the door.
The chauffeur drove back onto the rode and they made their way to work.
Leo kept glancing at Coleman's profile. His face was perfectly symmetrical, with sharp eyes, beautiful natural eyebrows, and a straight nose. He couldn't help, but keep glancing at him.
Coleman's lips turned up into a small smile. He noticed the glances Leo kept making and to his surprise, he felt warm. Normally when people glance or look at him for to long, he gets irritated or annoyed. But when Leo did it, he didn't feel any of that. He looked at Leo and said, "I have an assignment for you to do once we get there."
Leo turned his gaze completely to Coleman, he replied shyly, "A-alright Mr.Coleman."
Leo's cheeks and ears had a slight shade of pink covering them.
Coleman had a sudden urge to reach his hand out and touch his cheeks. Leo's green eyes drew him in and his cheeks tempted him.
He restrained himself, 'What am I thinking, he's an employee and my assistant!?'
The rest of the ride was quiet, until they both got to work.
They both got out of the car and walked into the building. Leo walked timidly behind him and the two made their way to the office.
As they walked past the other employees, their eyes looked towards Leo with confusion. Why is he walking near the CEO? What is he doing? Is he important? Do the two have a special relationship? These were all questions you could see in their eyes, though they didn't dare to voice them allowed out of fear.
After the awkward walk, they both finally made it to the office. Mr.Coleman sat down at his desk and Leo stood in front of it patiently waiting.
Mr.Coleman began, "The reason why I wanted a personal assistant is because I wanted someone I could trust to help me make important decisions about the company. I need someone who will help me make decisions best for the company, so I need your input."
Leo tilted his head to the side, "Input....?"
"Yes, input. There is a file I've sent you. I want you to share what you think would be the best course of action and add information to back up ypur statement."
"Alright, I will," Leo walked to his desk and opened the file on his laptop. The file was just a set of problems within the company with data on each subject.
He typed out his response to each problem and added information and statistics to support his ideas.
It took a while, but once he was done, a smiled was plastered onto Leo's face. He stretched his arms upward and leaded back in his chair. 'I finally finished,' he thought feeling satisfied.
As he leaned back, he felt a gaze being layed onto him. He opened his eyes suddenly and turned his head, "Yes Mr.Coleman?"
Coleman had been looking at Leo with eyes filled with kindness and warmth. 'Ugh, why do I keep doing this!? He's just my assistant for god's sake!'
When he heard Leo, he was pulled out of his thoughts. He looked to see Leo looking directly at him in wonder. 'Quick! Think of something!'
"I was wondering about your past. You seem like someone with a backstory."
'Yes, nice save!'
Leo's expression darkened for a second, he began, "Well, my past is.....depressing. Are you sure you wanna here about it?"
Mr.Coleman narrowed his gaze a bit, 'Depressing? I know of some of his past, I wonder if he'll tell me anything different...'
"I-I used to live in the forest with my grandfather when I was little, later on he got....sick and he....died. When I was a bit older I was adopted and I used to work at a cafe before coming here. Other than that, there really isn't anything else...."
Coleman was surprised, 'He lived in the forest with his grandfather, who I'm guessing taught him instead of having him go to school. That's not much information, but it's fi-'
Coleman's thoughts were broken when he looked towards Leo's face. His face was casted down and his eyes looked like they would water any moment.
This sight pulled at Coleman's heart and he was filled with, compassion? He had never really felt this way towards anyone. He even shocked himself.
He walked over and patted Leo's head, "I'm sorry for making you remember something so sad. Don't feel bad. And go get yourself a cup water and me a cup of coffee while your at it."
He removed his hand from Leo's head and calmly walked back to his desk. He sat down and went back to his same indifferent expression.
Leo looked towards him in curiosity, 'I wonder why he did that...'
He self consciously touched the part of hair that he had touched. He took a few deep breaths before leaving to go to the break room.
His cheeks were a bit pink from embarrassment as he walked out of the room.
He walked over to the break room and brewed the coffee. While it was brewing, he made himself a cup of water and sipped it while looking out the window.
'Why did he seem concerned about me? I'm just his assistant...' Leo touched the spot on his head once more.
He sat in a daze for moment before the beeping of the coffee maker pulled him out of his trance.
He poured the coffee into a cup and walked back to the office.
Many hours past and it was time for Leo to go home. He excused himself from Mr.Coleman's office and then waved bye to Ms.Amber and left the building.
Coleman was standing by his window, looking out into the night sky. He pulled out his phone and dialed a number, "Hey, I need your help a bit more."
