Chapter 10 - Trending at Day 1

Zach's POV

'I didn't know she was dating someone. It never occurred to me to find out first before betting it on her. Perhaps, I should back a little. Maybe, I should gain her trust first. But, what will I do if she really liked that guy? That ugly rooster! He's no match for her! Wait, do I even like her that much to break them apart? I just transferred here. Hmm. Maybe, I just have to observe first for a while. But that ugly! He's making my blood boil. Who does he think he is? Interrupted my moment with her just like that. Hey Andi, are you still busy? He repeated sarcastically. Just wait and see, she'll be mine soon.

-----

On the other hand, Andi rushed to her next class or maybe she just escaped as she didn't want to be caught between the two guys. Unknowingly, she already did.

-----

'This first day sucks! She wasn't able to focus on anything at all. She's not on her way to her locker as she forgot to get her things before after the tour, but she forgot. She's not usually absent-minded. Anyway, she volunteered to the Principal that she'll help in the General Assembly.

She heard the other students gossiping about something. She couldn't care less but she noticed they kept looking at her.

"Hey, guys what's up?" She greeted them awkwardly. They looked at each other but greeted her back, "Hey, Andi," with a weird smile. She wondered what's gone into them.

Before she can even close her locker, someone stopped them. She looked over to see who it was and let out a sigh when she saw it was Jacqueline. She wouldn't do that if there's nothing wrong.

"Hey, Jack. What is it?"

Jack just playfully smiled at her and said, "You're not that tough at all, aren't you? Its just the first day but you're trending at number one already, my friend." She added chuckling.

Bewildered, she responded, "What are you taking about?"

"All this time, I wondered why you don't like the guys who courted you. So, that's your type, huh?" Jack furthered tease.

She just dismissed it and kept silent. Since all their classes were done for the day and luckily its just introductory and distribution of course outline etcetera. They must meet the others in their headquarters. They started walking and after a few minutes she turned to Jack and asked,

"Is this about the new guy?" And as expected, her eyes twinkled. I knew it. I shouldn't bothered asking.

"Is he the one for you?" Jack asked me back dreamily.

She winced at her thoughts and replied, "Of course, not."

She pat me on the shoulder and teased me further, "What do you mean not? Everybody saw you together?! And boy, you look good together, " she exclaimed as if she wanted to marry her off already.

"Don't be exaggerated. We're only sophomores. Don't act as if I'm too old and the train's leaving me behind," she said and sighed exasperatedly.

Jack didn't further tease her.

"Whatever that gossip is, not true. Believe me." This topic about the new guys is starting to annoy her.

"Then who kept spreading those false rumors?" Jack let out a frustrated sigh. She's a romanticist, maybe she's disappointed about me not having a real boyfriend.

They were both lost in thoughts when they reached their headquarters.

"Hey, playgirl. Welcome to the club," greeted Alexandra with her ever mischievous smile.

Jack shook her head to warn Alex, but she just shrugged it off.

"Andi, its fine that you have two lovers, but you have to do it discreetly."

If only her eyes shoot daggers, Alex might be on the ground by now. If Andi is the second most impatient person in their group, ironically, Alex is the first. So, she doesn't have any right to tease anyone because when we tease her, she'll get mad like immediately.

"Andi, I'm so sorry. It's my fault. I matched you with that guy but this was just too fast." Dan spoke softly.

She had enough of this. Not her friends!

With both her hands on her waist, she faced them and said, "Guys, seriously. Look at you, believing all these gossips. I don't have a boyfriend, okay? At least of all people, you should know that.

Perhaps, I never will! And if ever, you're the first to know! Besides my parents, of course." She sermoned at them.

Meanwhile, Maxine who was playing video games in her PC interrupted their ongoing drama. She is the only one who was not triggered by the gossips her friend was involved with. She motioned for them to come close and showed them her mobile phone with Zach and Andrew's video.

"Look, this might be the cause of the gossip," she stated the obvious.

All of them watched the video intently.

"I'll try to hack whose ISP is this," said Max.

"Remember, last year, when Trixie competed against you as School Council President? They circulated your photo with Uncle Bernard said that you're dating a man good enough to be your father?" Jack reminded them.

"Oh, don't start me with her. That awful b*tch." Alex muttered angrily.

That's when she realized what's happening. She blurted her thoughts, "Is she planning to run again this year? But why can't she just fight fair?" She added incredulously.

"Aww my poor baby," Dan mumbled.

"Don't worry girls. We always win against them," said Alex trying to assure her. However, they don't know what crazy things Trixie and her minions are up to.

"Wait, what if Zach was apparently their guy?"

All their heads turned abruptly to Jack who suddenly spoke out of the blue. She just asked the most important question they ever heard today.

She sensed they were all looking at her. She looked back at them with wide eyes and in defense mode, "Come on, guys. I don't even like that guy. If they think they got me, they don't know the real Andi yet," she said and grinned at them.
