Chapter 30 - Blue eyes

Rastel saw the shadow trying to retreat after killing the woman and found himself raging! Disregarding everything, he launched an earth pillar at his feet which pushed him into the air. With rapid casting speed, he launched a fireball down into the shadow.

BOOM!

The shadow was fast and easily dodged the spell but the resulting explosion blew away it's cover. As the shadow dispersed, a middle-aged man dressed in black assassin attire wielding a long dagger was exposed to view. He had slick black hair and his silted eyes looked extremely cold as he looked at the descending muan with a hard glare.

Rastel was falling straight towards him and had no space to maneuver. Without wasting time, he had fished out his immortal's blade immediately after casting the spell as he charged blade first at the assassin.

The man raised his blade to finish off the foolish mage before he suddenly noticed something and quickly dodged to the right. The big hunter had fired an arrow after rushing closer to the scene. If facing another opponent, the hunter was sure the arrow would hit but it seemed like the assassin was too fast!

Rastel tumbled to the floor and rolled before quickly regaining a standing position. The hunter kept firing arrows at blinding speed but the assassin seemed to keep dodging and deflecting the arrows.

Rastel launched an earth pillar towards the assassin's left as he saw him dodge an arrow to the right. The assassin didn't even flinch as he changed his strafing movement into a backflip and sailed over the pillar.

'He's good, really good' Rastel narrowed his eyes. Now that he had calmed down, he could clearly see the assassin's level. It was 28!

'What!' Rastel became shocked as he quickly turned to see the hunter's level, he was level 14. Even with the addition of both of their levels they still couldn't catch up with the assassin, Rastel was still level 10!

Knowing what he was facing against, he decided to go all out, even though he would have to reveal a bit of his trump card, it was better than dying.

He summoned a golem from his inventory and stealthily dropped it on the ground as he launched a fire slash to try and restrict the assassin's movements. At this point, the hunter had already realized that they were no match for the assassin. He seemed to be playing with them as he dodged every attack they threw at him with practiced ease.

He was also getting closer to them as he dodged. They both wanted to retreat a bit further but once there was too much distance, it became easier for the assassin to dodge their attacks so they could only risk it and stand their ground.

The assassin headed for Rastel first. This mage had more powerful attacks and any hit could be lethal, he had to end him first. Noticing his intentions, Rastel casted an earth wall in front of him as he took a few steps back.

The assassin flipped over the barely one-meter wall and as he was in mid-flip, pushed his feet against the wall and dashed towards Rastel!

An arrow flew towards the assassin as the hunter tried to stop his attack but a flick of his blade deflected it. He readied his blade to plunge it towards the mage's chest in a split second but suddenly found himself facing a shield of water.

With a snort, his blade plunged through the shield as he waited for the sensation of piercing flesh when instead he felt resistance followed by a sharp ping.

DANG!

He just remembered the muan had a blade! Well it didn't matter, a mage using a blade in front of an assassin like him was basically suicide. His feet landed on the floor and he quickly adjusted his stance for a follow up attack when he suddenly felt a sharp pain on his ankle.

"Ah?"

He paused for a split second and that was all Rastel needed. He launched an earth pillar straight into the assassin's stomach sending him flying into the distance. He followed up with a fire ball that blasted the assassin just as he recovered on the floor. The assassin had just enough time to shield his face by crossing his arms as the fireball exploded right in front of him.

As he landed for the second time, he expected another attack from the mage so he quickly looked at him only to see the muan just standing there. It was then he noticed the weird creature standing in front of the muan. It had sharp claws and mocking smiling face as it suddenly dashed towards him.

He was about to prepare his own attack when he heard a sharp whistle coming from his side. Before he could turn, he had already felt the arrow piercing through his right shoulder.

"Argh!" the assassin yelled as he jumped back and tore the arrow out of his flesh. His carelessness had made him forget about the hunter!

He quickly took a stance this time as his gazed seemed to become even colder. He was done playing around with these fools!

Rastel saw the assassin's stance change but he didn't stop his attack. The mini golem bolted through the forest floor with immense agility. Rastel was becoming more and more used to controlling the small golem.

He had it aim at the assassin's thigh as it slashed forward with its claws. The assassin repelled it backward with force as he slashed his blade at it. Rastel kissed his teeth as the golem flew back, the assassin was able to dodge the follow up arrow by the hunter so his attack wasn't even a good diversion.

It was then that suddenly, Rastel saw the assassin's figure flash as if after images were forming.

'A skill!?' Rastel went on high alert.

He wasn't sure if a skill from a level 28 opponent was something he could tank. Knowing the assassin loved to aim for the chest, he raised his immortal's blade subconsciously to his chest. That proved to be the right decision.

CLANG!!!

Rastel felt the vibration flow through his arm as he gritted his teeth from the pain. The assassin had really aimed for him but the attack got blocked by his blade. His body flew to the edge of the clearing as he suddenly lost nearly half his Hp just from the recoil!

The fight with the attacking men was already reaching a climax, and seeing the situation becoming dire, Gai left his position and attacked the assassin.

He waved his hands as a blast of air pushed towards the assassin. The assassin easily side stepped the attack and flashed before vanishing.

Sensing the danger, Gai coated his arms in earth and crossed it in front of him defensively. A split second later, he also found himself flying across the clearing after the attack hit him.

"Arghk!" he grunted as he hit the floor. He was about to stand up when he saw he notification that hit his screen.

"Be careful! His blade is poisoned!" Gai yelled as he activated a monk skill to try and heal himself.

The hunter had already retreated after he saw what happened to Rastel and Gai. He wasn't sure he would be able to tank the hits like they did.

Rastel stood up shakily as he casted Insta heal on himself. He looked at the assassin warily as he realized that this was an opponent he wasn't sure they could beat.

'What should we do now?' he thought as he stared at the assassin standing in the middle of the clearing.

'Should I bring out one of the bigger golems and see if it would make a difference?' he thought as he began taking a golem out of his inventory.

At that moment, the assassin suddenly turned to look at him with his cold black eyes!

'Shit!' Rastel cursed in his mind as he quickly lifted his blade when he saw the assassin vanish.

He raised it over his chest in anticipation for the incoming attack when he suddenly felt a sharp pain in his side.

He felt cold but the pain felt like a fiery hot blade was plunged into his side. His blade dropped uselessly to the floor.

'What? I died just like that? All my plans for an adventure coming to nothing?'

As he fell to the floor, he heard two yells simultaneously burst out around him.

"NO!!!!"

"ROAR!!!!!!"

He saw a flash of light and a hulking back appeared in front of him before he fell to the floor. He lost all control of his body as he stared at the sky. All he could see was the moon surrounded by the stars. The moon looked strangely calming in the deep blue sky. Hmm yes, blue sky and blue eyes.

"Blue eyes?" that was all Rastel could mutter as he was blinded by a strong flash of light. He suddenly lost his sight as he was forcefully logged out from the game.
