The wood elf known as Waeser is a member of the Blue leaf guild that based in the Gorm kingdom. Even though the guild was not on the rankings, it was a very powerful guild that could contend with the lower ranked guilds. It had significant influence within the Gorm kingdom and was one of the guilds that had their sights in building a reputation in the capital to gain more power.
As a quasi-commander of such an ambitious and powerful guild and a level 25 Ranger, Waeser was very strong and very confident indeed. He had players under his command and was respected by the lower ranks in the guild for his skill with the bow. When he was given the mission by the higher ups to go and retrieve the player with a possible special class or power, he felt the weight of importance that was placed on him...and jealousy.
The truth was that, his younger brother was a part of Blue leaf. And he was also a ranker, albeit very low placed but a ranker all the same. And this was due to the hidden sub-class his brother had gained when he started the game. His brother was recruited by blue leaf almost instantly and he was brought along to serve as a "comforting presence" as the higher ups called it. Under the nurturing of the guild, his brother quickly became strong and was soon a ranker, part of the elite of the elite in the game.
He on the other hand was left alone in the guild and he had to start working his ass off to try to gain some power and recognition. He had finally made it to a position where he was given control of some players but even then, he heard whispers behind his back about his position only been given to him because of his brother.
Waeser was angry, very angry. His hard work and efforts were discarded like shit and he was looked at like the useless senior brother. This had strained his relationship with his brother but he didn't care. And now, the target of his mission had blasted through his trap and escaped. He had already lost face in front of his subordinates, if he went back to the guild without the muan, he would probably lose their trust and his position to boot.
As he looked down at the muan from the top of the tree by the edge of the road, he felt intense anger. He hated those privileged bastards with special classes more than anything in his life. Those who didn't work hard but ended up being powerful and respected by all anyway. Everything lay in front of them on a platter of gold!
He raised his bow and pulled back hard to fire. The arrow glowed as it was covered with a layer of earth to increase its power.
Rastel's eyes widened as he saw the shot and quickly rolled over with great speed!
BOOM!!!
The arrow hit the ground with a small explosion as it raised dust. Waeser calmly took another arrow from his back and knocked it. The muan couldn't outrun him now that he had caught up, he couldn't outrun his arrows.
BOOM!!!!
Another arrow was narrowly missed as Rastel rolled on the floor. Myra still seemed out of it so he quickly picked her up and ran into the forest on the opposite side of the path.
Waeser lowered his bow as he saw him running. He would take his time to do this, he had a lot of pent up stress to release anyway. It didn't matter how far they ran, they can't escape his arrows!
Rastel was truly a little panicked. He now fully realized the burden of having to protect someone while under threat of an attack. He had seen the green haired elf's level and it was level 25!
'I have to get Amba out!' he thought as he ran.
"Hero?" Myra called out.
She was afraid and sent into shock by the sudden attack. She had lived a rather peaceful life and was not used to such things.
"Hey, are you okay? Don't worry, I'll get us to safety" Rastel smiled at her before he continued running while checking back a few times to try and locate their attacker.
Myra furrowed her eyebrows as she suddenly moved. "Let me down, I can run on my own".
She realized that she was been a burden to him. If she could handle herself better, they might not have been in such dire straits.
Rastel looked at her for a moment before letting her down. He really couldn't handle running with her for that long. His strength and stamina were too weak. Myra scrambled down and tried to keep pace with him but suddenly, Rastel stopped running and turned around.
They had reached a small clearing in the forest and as he looked around, he nodded silently to himself. He would make his stand here. Amba's movements would be restricted in a forest surrounded by trees and bushes so he was waiting for a spot like this.
"Hero! Why are you stopping? Let's escape together!" Myra was confused as she also came to a halt. Although she couldn't guess their attacker's strength, she was simply afraid that any harm would befall her or Rastel. She couldn't bear the thought of that.
"Don't worry Myra, run a few more minutes and hide in the bushes. If I don't fight him here, he would keep on coming after us." Rastel replied without looking backward as he brought out Amba from his inventory.
He could already feel the golem trembling from excitement through their special connection as though it was longing to fight.
"But, what if-"
"Just go Myra, it will be alright. I'm your hero mage right? I can deal with something this simple" he smiled confidently back at her.
She hesitated for a while before she slowly retreated into the forest and hid behind a nearby bush. Even though he told her to run farther, she wasn't willing and stayed nearby to see what will happen.
Rastel seeing that she was out of his sight breathed a sigh of relief. The wood elf was clearly after only him so it was his fault, he had to clear this issue.
"You think you can deal with me? This arrogance is what makes me hate people like you!" a cold voice came out from the trees to his right.
The elf had appeared without his knowing and that sent cold sweat running down his back. If he had decided to launch a sneak attack, Rastel would have been down before even knowing what hit him!
He turned and saw the elf standing on a tree branch with an arrow knocked to his bow. He gazed down on Rastel with a cold glare as he raised his bow and silently activated a skill.
Rastel could feel Amba's restlessness in his mind as he saw the elf was about to attack.
"Heh, come on out then. Let's have you play a little" Rastel smiled as he tossed out Amba's core.
The golem core expanded as Amba burst out with a furious bellow!
ROAR!!!
Waeser's eyes widened a little bit at the imposing sight of the giant golem but his face was still calm as he pulled back while the arrow was suddenly enveloped by a violent red aura.
Explosive shot!
This was a skill that came with destructive explosive power! It destroyed the arrow in the process but it rivalled the explosive power of a mage's fire ball spell. In the hands of a level 25 player who had taken the skill to a high level, the power was immense.
KABOOM!!!
Amba was forced to stumble back from the attack. The golem roared in displeasure as it shook off the attack and stared up at the despicable elf.
Rastel became keenly aware of a problem at that point, his enemy had the high ground! He had to think of a way to get the elf down on the ground so that Amba could effectively attack.
With a swish of his robe, he moved back as he quickly cast a fire ball spell at the elf. Waeser who was about to fire another arrow noticed the spell coming at him and with practiced ease, fired two arrows in quick succession.
The first arrow had a red glow and exploded immediately it made contact with the fireball.
BOOM!
Rastel used this opportunity to quickly move backward as soon as he launched the spell to try and get into the trees while sending Amba forward to distract the elf.
Amba grunted in response to his order and launched itself forward but before it could go far it suddenly stopped as it noticed something.
ROAR!!!
The golem roared in rage! It had noticed the second arrow hidden behind the explosion!
Rastel felt the golem's warning through the mind link they shared and hastily erected an earth wall but, it wasn't enough!
BLZZT! CRACK!
An arrow layered with a bit of lightning blasted through the earth wall and struck Rastel's left arm as he tried to dodge to the right.
"Argh!!!" he yelled in pain as the arrow struck him sending bolts of lightning through his body and numbing it in the process.
"Rein in your baseless arrogance in front of me mage" Waeser calmly strung another arrow as he aimed at Rastel again.
"You can't escape my arrows!"
