It is possible to assimilate the information by literally consuming the books in their entirety, but since I had just eaten, I will not be doing that. Moreover, I have no idea how many people these books have been passed through before reaching me.
And just thinking about where their hands had been nauseates me, especially considering the level of hygiene in this world.
This is not Earth, and their technological level is something much to be desired.
In any case, I continue to assimilate all the information with the method I have chosen, and once I am done, I call for Grover to bring me more books to burn, but of course, I replace all the books that I had destroyed with the Shop System before requesting his presence.
He would raise an alarm, otherwise, and I prefer him not to.
It does not cost much Gold Points to buy a copy from the Shop System, and it is not strange that some books are worth more than the others, but not much more, as all these books are fairly common. It is not like they are Spell Books, and those are the true prize of this world.
"It has not been more than 10 minutes, Seventh Master," Grover comments, as he casts a brief glance at the pile of books to my side.
"10 minutes is more than enough, as I am actually looking for something. I just cannot remember what it is, so I will have to trouble you," I tell him. "And no, I cannot describe what I am looking to you. I will know when I see it, however."
Grover nods in understanding, and he carts the books out of the booth, leaving me alone. Since he will take a moment to collect more books for me, I wheel myself towards the window and open the drapes to have a look outside and towards the starry sky.
There are some familiar constellations in the heaven, but even so, it will still take tens of thousands of years to reach this world from Earth with the current technology.
With Spatial Magic, it can be instant in exchange for enormous amount of Magical Energy (Mana), but it is also possible to reach this world from Earth instantaneously with purely technological mean.
Sadly, I doubt Earth will reach such level any time soon.
While it is the dead of the night, it is quite bright and noisy outside. And above the sky, I can see several people flying towards the edge of the walls of the city. They are Sorcerers or Sorceresses, and for them to be able to fly, they must be of at least 5th Layer in Sorcery.
Since they can fly, the can actually leave this Walled City behind and join those powerhouses in flying fortress, known as Sky Cities, but most prefer to stay down below and remain a big fish in a small pond or so to speak.
But of course, the resource down below is not sufficient for them to improve their magic and expand their knowledge. As such, the highest they can reach is the 5th Layer. Maybe 6th Layer. Nevertheless, these Sorcerers and Sorceresses are practically Gods to those who cannot even form a Mana Sea, and as such, they cannot be offended.
Sounds extremely cliché, but that is how most society of Magical or Spiritual World function, and there is no need for me to turn what have worked for eons simply because I was born on Earth.
