Chapter 185 - Dropping the Charade

The food is quite bland, but I cannot complain, not when I am completely aware of the financial state of the household.

Everyone does, and that is why there are so many guests at the mansion. They were not always invited, and more often than not, they leave the mansion with more people than they had arrived with. Even so, it will take a while for the servants to have new master. And I truly wonder if I should do something about that, now that I am a part of the family.

But being the Seventh Master, no one truly expects anything of me.

I am also the youngest legitimate child, at least for now. This is because the Lord might have the urges to legitimize more of his bastard sons as soon as their mothers somehow regain his favor. He also has the urge to disown some of his children too if they proved to be problematic or unworthy.

Speaking of mother, mine have not visited me in such a long time, and I do hope that she is not dead, simply because she is my mother. She has lost the favor with my father a while back, and as such, she no longer needs to keep up appearance of a loving mother and spread her legs to whoever can shower her with gifts.

Fucking whore. Oh right. I should not call my mother that even if she is not my true mother. Still, what a fucking whore, and that comes from Kilian himself, not me.

Kilian hates his life, and the only reason he continues to live despite his illness is due to…

"You appear to be in a good mood, Seventh Master," Serene comments as she feeds me like I am some sort of disabled person.

While it was interesting at first, it becomes rather annoying very quickly, and as such, I decide to drop the charade by grabbing her hand and then pulling myself into an upright position.

"Seventh Master!?" Serene utters out in surprise. "You can move?"

I nod as I slowly release her hand. To think that I would fall in love with a lowly servant simply because she had taken care of me when no one else would. But I suppose that if people spent time long enough together, they will naturally develop affection for each other.

"Yes, Serene," I answer her question. "A Sorcerer came by my room earlier and heal me. He introduced himself as Zan, and he said that he is a friend of my elder brother, Evan."

"A Sorcerer!" Serene gasps. "How did the Third Master befriend someone of such high standing?"

With the knowledges I have gained from Kilian, I now understand why Lucian and Viola had acted the way they did. That is because Sorcerer holds all the power within the Walled City, and every household would do everything they can to have the support of a Sorcerer.

And with the power level that I had demonstrated, Lucian assumes that I was a Sorcerer, and I did not bother to tell him otherwise since he is just an Initiated. As Killian, I am also an Initiated due to having just form my Mana Sea. In order to reach Apprentice status, I would need to find a suitable teacher.

Or not.

In any case, I should finish my meal and check the Library. It will fill in the gaps within my knowledges and understandings, allow me to master Minasian Magic.
