Chapter 186 - The Library At last

Unlike cultivating Spiritual Power, it is always a good thing to learn and master every form of Magic if possible, as they do complement one another if they are not in direct conflict with each other.

Furthermore, knowing more than one form of Magic allows me to be quite versatile as a Mage, not to mention all the possible options when I challenge beings who are immune to certain form of Magic.

It is always annoying to kill those fuckers, and those fuckers are not always the most annoying.

"Serene. You are forgetting your place," I warn her and ignore her question, as there is no real reason for me to tell her anything. Serene is just a servant – my servant now that I am Kilian in mind and body.

"Escort me to the Library, as I am interested in some reading," I add.

"Y-yes, Seventh Master," Serene responses. "I apologize for overstepping my boundary."

I nod. "It is fine to be curious, but there are things that will get you killed. The connection between my brother Evan and my teacher Zan is not something you should know. Nor it is my place to question."

Serene assures me that she understands, and she helps me get out of the bed. While I can do so myself, I will make use of her, as that is her job. Unfortunately for her, I have not stand on my own power for a very long time, and I immediately lost balance, collapsing against her and forcing her onto the floor with my weight.

"M… Master Kilian!?" Serene utters as she looks up at me. She then slowly closes her eyes. "Please be gentle."

What…? This idiot girl. I sigh inwardly and then give her a kiss on the lips. Just a short one, as it is better than refusing her outright.

"There will be time for that, Serene," I tell her afterwards. "Now, can you please help me up? I cannot stand on my own, as it has been a long time since I have walked. Maybe I should make use of that?"

By that, I refer to the wooden wheelchair sitting in the corner of the room. It is covered in dust, telling me that it has not been used in a while.

Serene blushes in embarrassment and helps me get off of her. She then collects the wheelchair before cleaning it and settling me into it gently. Despite her small size, she is quite strong. Or maybe because I am so light.

It is actually the combination of both, not that it really matters.

Serene wheels me out of the room and down the hallways, passing a handful of servants, who all give me their respect. They are also surprised at seeing me, considering that I had been bedridden for many months.

"Seventh Master!" an elderly man calls out once Serene pushes me into the Library. "It is a surprise to see you here. No. No. Serene, why did you bring Master Kilian to the Library? If he wishes for reading materials, a good caretaker should have brought it to him. Please do not worry, Master Kilian, she will be disciplined thoroughly."

"Do not do unnecessary thing, Grover," I tell him with displeasure. "Serene cannot disobey my request regardless of whatever it is. I am here because I want to be, or you think you know better?"

"No. No. Of course not, Seventh Master," Grover responses hastily. "Please, what can I do for you?"
