But of course, it is not that easy to expand my Mana Sea regardless of how much I wanted to.
While I can use Mana Potions to improve the quality of the mana within my Mana Sea, I am unable to do the same with its quantity. This is because the Mana Sea acts like a container, containing my mana within, and if I keep pouring mana into the container, it will overflow instead of expanding.
That is logical enough, and I have to somehow increase the size of the container itself, and that cannot be done by simply pouring more mana into the Mana Sea.
Perhaps, it can be done when I was forming the Mana Sea itself.
But unfortunately, the mana that makes up the foundation of the Mana Sea is known as Innate Mana, which a person has finite amount of. In contrast, the mana within the Mana Potion are called Acquired Mana, as it is acquired by the body rather than being produced by the body itself.
While that is true, Innate Mana can also be acquired, and I wonder whether I should do so or not. Such method is highly frown upon by others, but then again, why should I care what others think of me?
Since I cannot expand my Mana Sea myself without necessary resources and victims, I decide to work on constructing a Magic Core instead.
Like the Mana Sea, Magic Core is better constructed with Innate Mana, but unlike the Mana Sea, that is not a restriction. Magic Core constructed by Acquired Mana is called Acquired Magic Core, and it is not as good as Innate Magic Core, but given the circumstances, I have no choice.
I have used all my Innate Mana to form the Mana Sea. There is nothing left for me to construct a Magic Core with, and it does take a lot of mana to construct a pure Innate Magic Core. Even my original body does not have a pure Innate Magic Core, as I use both Innate and Acquired Mana to construct it along with its Magic Ring.
An impure Innate Magic Core is still better than a pure Acquired Magic Core, however.
In any case, I begin to construct a Magic Core within myself, and the Magic Core actually occupies the same space as the Mana Sea. As a matter of fact, it is immersed within the Mana Sea, causing the sea to become quite violent.
I have to stop every now and then to calm the Mana Sea, and by the third time I need to do so, a knock on the door catches my attention.
Hearing that, I pause my progress and lie back onto the bed before speaking up. "Come in."
The door is opened afterwards, and a young girl enters my chamber. She pushes the cart inside before closing the door.
"Seventh Master, I have brought your supper," Serene informs me, and she is my private attendant. I can request anything of her, including things that Viola would do as part of her job. She has no choice but to obey me, as her life actually belongs to me.
In fact, almost all the servants within the mansion has an owner, as they were brought instead of being hired. While they are not called slaves, they are slaves in all but name. Some might even be my siblings as my father – the Lord – have tasted most of them himself.
Knowing that fact doesn't make me lose my appetite, and Serene feeds me as it is her job.
