Chapter 155 - An Apparent Victory

There are thirteen pursuers in total, and from their raw unenhanced and unempowered speed alone, they are certainly more powerful than the general that I had faced previously.

I guess that the Queen did not gloat when she had warned me about the power of her children.

Nessa should have gloated a little, as I find her children to be very capable. At least one of them is, for they have managed to find me in a relatively short amount of time even if I did not attempt to suppress my magical aura at all.

There is no need to do so, as I am trying to lure them all in.

I want to deal with her children as quickly as possible, obtaining my rewards in the end. Plus, I do want to get it this over with, so I can focus my attention on other things. I suppose I also do not want them to be popping up randomly and annoying me.

In any case, I search for a good open area to confront all of them, and the stadium appears to be good enough since it can fit thousands upon thousands of spectators when any sort of competition is being held. At the moment, there are only half-eaten corpses litter here and there.

Once I landed in the middle of the stadium, I eye each of my pursuers as they make their own landing around the area while returning my gaze. And from just a glance, the resemblance to the Queen is not there even if they are her direct descendants.

That is to be expected with their species, as they take in the desirable traits of other species into their genepool, making the next generation stronger than the last.

Unfortunately, natural selection does not always work itself out all the time. If it did, Nessa would not still be Queen when the players had faced her the first time around. One of her children would be. Or maybe one of her grandchildren.

"This is the one that the Queen Mother tells us about?" one of them asks the others. "It does not look all that impressive."

"You don't look all that impressive either," I response in kind, causing them all to glare at me. "I guess your mother never teaches you to not judge the book by its cover."

Before my aura explodes and washes over the entire area, I establish a Headquarter, locking everyone in.

Establishment can be used that way. And not only that, it also severs any sort of unauthorized magical, spiritual or psychic connection, preventing any prying eyes from those who are not Gods or above.

I am sure Nessa is sweating just like her children are at the moment. She obviously orders them to go and kill me while requesting me to do the same. She will benefit whichever side succeed, and I expect nothing less from someone like her.

But since she is being shifty, I will too.

"This aura…? It is denser than even the Queen Mother," one of them utters. "I can see why the Queen Mother order us all to go. We will need to join our strengths to eliminate this threat."

I chuckle. "There is really no need for me to fight, as you are all trapped here until I say otherwise."

With that, I teleport away via the Trade Network. Time to collect my rewards from Nessa.
