Chereads / One Last Merchant / Chapter 125 - Always Be Prepared

Chapter 125 - Always Be Prepared

Since the Lizardmen worship Strength, their Chieftain should be amongst the strongest their tribe has to offer. Or the most cunning. It really depends, and in either case, I can make use of the Leader since he appears to be smart enough, knowing when to retreat and when to fight.

The Leader also knows some useful information as demonstrated by his knowledge of World Walkers.

There is only one reason that the Leader knows about such thing. He must have talked to one himself in some level, and I do love to meet a World Walker myself, as they can ignore all sort of barriers with their power. Barrier around the Zone, for example.

"By the way," I speak up once the Leader begins to lead his pack away. They are most likely returning back to their camp or nest to lick their wounds. Lots of them have died, and they can only blame their own weaknesses. "What shall I call you?"

Unlike humans, Lizardmen does not have names. They have something akin to callsign. Not all of them do, however, but for someone who leads a pack this size, the Leader should have one.

"Deep Scar," the Leader answers. "You can call me Deep Scar, Merchant."

I nod and turn to the direction the pendant is pointing at. "I shall see you soon, Deep Scar, and perhaps, I can offer you something more than simply returning to home. A position of power."

Using his callsign is a display of respect, and coming from me, who can kill him with impunity, it is like an acknowledgement. And I suppose I do acknowledge him. Most monsters I deal with requires some more bloodbath.

I channel my Spiritual Power and blast away. With a single leap, everything is left in my wake. And the instant that I landed, I buy another avatar from the Shop System and take it out of my Inventory.

The little display of power has not really damaged my avatar that much, but it is still damaged. Because of that, I will switch to a brand new one just to keep myself in tiptop condition.

Once the avatar appears before me, my consciousness leap into it, taking control of it immediately. As soon as I am done, I reach out and drawl all the magical and spiritual power from the previous avatar into my new one, supercharging it.

I also sell the old avatar to the Shop System to recover some GP. It is to get rid of the evidence as well – or trash. The Shop System is useful in many ways, and it will only get more useful.

With my new avatar, I continue onwards, reaching my destination in no time thanks to excess amount of Magical and Spiritual energy. So much that my aura is much larger than before, and it is more deadly as well.

Even so, the monsters that escort my mother and the others charge at me to attack, and unlike before with the Lizardmen, there is no need for me to talk to them.

Amaterasu is summoned into my hand, and with several blinding slashes, lots of heads go flying. Their headless body collapses, releasing XP for my blade to absorb. For the women to absorb as well – great.

"Anyone else?" I speak up once all the unintelligent monsters have been dealt with, earning me quite a lot of XP. They might be unintelligent, charging towards their death, but their XP is good. "If not –!"

On reflex, I block a strike to my blind spot with Amaterasu, but the blow still sends me flying.
