Chapter 126 - Monster of Strength

After forcing several walls to give up their livelihood to slow me down and stop me completely, I stare directly at the monstrous being that had suckered punch me into a building. For it to be able to do so despite its hulky size and heavily armored exoskeleton, the monster is likely one of the Royal Guards.

Or at least fairly high up in the echelon of the Hive.

But if it is just a mere grunt on steroid, then my information is severely out of date or just plain wrong, and while there is no reason for me to believe that is the case, I should assume for the worse. As such, I will treat the creature before me as one of the Royal Guards.

In other word, there is no need for negotiation.

As I pull myself out of the rubbles, the Runic Stigmas all over my body glow brightly, activating several inscribed spells within the Stigmas to heal and mend whatever broken inside me. And it only takes just a moment thanks to the abundant amount of magical power imbued within the Runic Stigmas.

"Oh? You're not dead?" the creature remarks as its muscle ripple quite violently. The attack previously has all the intention to kill, but of course, it will take more than that to cripple my juiced-up avatar.

In any case, the creature is almost on the same level as an expert of the Martial Realm. Even so, it still should not be able to hold itself against a proper pinnacle Martial Realm Expert.

Unfortunately, I am not a proper one, so I am more or less equal it in physical prowess. But that is just physical prowess, and a fight to the death is about more than just brute strength.

"You should have guarded your Queen until I decide to come for her," I snort as Amaterasu ignites. "If you did, then you might have lived a little longer."

I launch an attack with Amaterasu, engulfing the monster with black flames, at least it does appear to be so, but the creature is fast, so it should have avoided that attack without much effort.

To my surprise, however, the monster charges blindly through the black flames to strike at me. What the fuck? Is it an idiot? Does it have muscle for brain?

I evade the punch that instantly destroys what remains of the building I was sent into a moment ago, and while that is remarkable, it is not that impressive.

Amaterasu glows with spiritual energy, and I slash across the burning monster, sending it flying across the street and through a building. Before I can follow up, a flaming cannonball crashes against me and pushes me back.

I should have expected it to be a brute, and remarkably enough, the undying black flames actually add to its attack power. And while the black flames harm the creature, the damage is being counteracted by its regenerative power.

My aura explodes, spiraling around my form and deflecting the burning cannonball elsewhere, freeing me. I immediately distance myself and eye the burning monster.

"This black fire… it comes from that magic weapon, isn't it?" the monster questions while attempting to extinguish the flames. Even though it lacks quite a lot in the head department, it makes up for that in terms of sheer power. "I am in need of a good weapon."

I smirk and put away Amaterasu. "Sorry, but it is not for sale."
