It does not really cost me much to give away those guns, and I do admit that guns are still useful when employed correctly, but they are honestly situation weapons at best.
There are a lot of better ways to resolve a lot of situations than resorting to shooting things, especially when shooting things will only invite more things to shoot in an endless vicious cycle.
This is not some sort of First-Person Shooter (FPS) games, where I can keep on shooting and shooting until my problems go away. Furthermore, there are monsters and creatures that cannot really be killed by filling it with lots and lots leads. Humanity would have been triumphant, otherwise.
"Wait!" Clark calls out and jumps across the gap between buildings to get to me. "I need your help, so please, can you help me!"
I cast him a glance, as the rest of the group jump across the gap as well. One of them nearly slips and falls to his death on the pavement below, but he is lucky to have others with him. "I believe I've already done so. If you're asking for more then I am sorry, but like you, I do have my own problems and family to take care of."
Clark is unable to form a proper response to my statement. "That's…"
"You're not thinking about going back there, are you?" Jack questions after catching his breath. There was no time to rest, and there really isn't any time to be idling about out in the open either. "You do know that is fucking suicidal, right?!"
"Yes. But I have to. I promise her," Clark responses as he grips his weapon tightly. "I have to save her."
"Listen to yourself! She is gone. They all are. Those monsters ate them! They ate everyone! Going back there will only get yourself killed. Fucking killed!" Jack calls out, grabbing Clark in the moment.
"Just listen to him, Clark. We've lost a lot of people trying to escape from there. Going back there now is stupid. Leave it to the authority. They will be able to do a lot more than we could," Sheldon speaks up while gesturing at me.
He is still under the impression that I am some sort of military personnel despite I have denied it.
Eric does not voice his opinion as his shoulder is still hurting. The Swamp Troll had dug quite deep into his flesh, drawling some bloods. From his expression, however, he would never go back there. He has managed to survive until ow, and he will want to continue to survive for as long as possible.
Since I believe that I have heard enough, I begin to slip away from the group, at least I would have if it wasn't for someone stepping in front of me. She should really find something to cover herself.
"Please. Can I go with you?" Natalie asks while panting. The adrenaline rush is probably subsiding, and I am surprised that she manages to maintain her composure from near brush with death. Anyone else would have expressed their dismay or fear, at least a little. "You can probably use a hand."
I am amused at the offer. If I wanted assistance, I would have just summoned Alex through one of my Skills. He is an employee now, and as an employee, I can do a lot of things with him. Things that would have helped greatly the first time around.
Of course, I want to move about alone right now, as it is faster and easier. Also, I do not have to keep hiding a lot of my powers and abilities. But outright refuse will only waste more of my time. "Perhaps I do. If you can keep up, I will consider your offer."
