Chereads / Married to the Queen of Darkness / Chapter 63 - THE LADY IN THE BUS STOP

Chapter 63 - THE LADY IN THE BUS STOP

"Geez! Why is it exceptionally cold this night?!!"

Aiden said out loud as he tried to pull his long sleeves as down as possible.

Hoping to cover as much skin as he could to protect himself from the cold wind of the night draft

He was not usually fond of going outside during ungodly hours like this since he was a scaredy-cat, to begin with.

If he only had a choice, Aiden would never associate himself or any of his activities to the known witching hours.

But right now, our poor  Aiden was left with no choice but to dare himself and brave the night.

He did not have any place in mind yet, nor did he have an exact plan on what to do next.

But all he knew was that he could not stay at his place or even at that city anymore, knowing that the Queen of Darkness was probably lurking somewhere within the shadows waiting to take him to her world.

The Underworld...

The abodes of the dead!

Just the mere thought of it was enough to send a cold shiver down Aiden's spine, so what more if he would go and experienced it first hand?

"Nah! Over my dead, sexy body!"

He would say.

And so, that was why Aiden was so eager to leave the place as soon as possible.

"Hopefully I could catch a bus going out of the city at this point in time."

Despite the odds, Aiden sincerely wished to hitch a ride out of the city so he hurriedly made his way towards the nearest bus stop.

Relief instantly showed on Aiden's face when he saw from a distance that there was someone who was also waiting at the bus stop.

At least he would have a company and he won't be left waiting for a bus to arrive all by himself.

Likewise, it was also some sort of guarantee for Aiden, since he was already having a second thought whether or not he could actually hitch a ride at that hour.

But because someone happened to be waiting at the bus stop aside from him, even at this ungodly hour then there was more high likey for a chance that there was indeed a bus passing by in the area even during this late of the night.

"Phew! Finally..."

Aiden heaved another sigh of relief as he put his duffle bag down, next to his feet.

Walking in full-speed was no joke, especially so when you were carrying a fully packed duffel bag so it was only normal that Aiden was exhausted out of his wits after walking from quite a distance.

After all, his apartment was quite a distance away from the actual bus stop and he just traveled it on foot.

That was why as soon as he reached the bus top, Aiden immediately put his bag down and tried to catch his breath.

There were only two of them at the bus station at that moment and they sat at both ends of the bench, observing a proper social distancing.

The other party was a lady in her mid-twenties.

She was wearing a rather normal-looking clothe that was topped with a simple cardigan over her shoulders to protect herself from the cold.

She had her short auburn hair in apple cut and in a lame attempt to give herself some sense of fashion, the lady wore sunglasses to complete her get up

Which was kinda weird, because who in their right mind would wear a pair of tinted sunglasses in the middle of the night?

But Aiden knew that it was not his place to question someone else fashion sense so he just left her be.

It was none of his business, after all.

He also has his own concerns that needed dealing with, in the first place and so he would rather stick on it than to mind someone else's

In any case, it was not as if the other party's weird fashion sense could affect him in any way possible nor do him any harm.

He might as well just turned a blind eye about how weird the lady looked at with her tinted sunglasses rather than commenting about it and risked having her offended by his kind reminder if ever.
