"Hello?"
Jace's voice sounded from the other line as soon as he picked up the call.
"Jace?!"
Meanwhile, a glimmer of hope shone through Aileen's eyes as soon as she heard that familiar voice.
"Help me! Please, hurry! Someone is in my room. I'm scared."
She pleaded with her voice quivering with a mixed emotion of fright and panic.
Jace, on the other hand, no longer needed to be told twice. As soon as he realized that something was off with Aileen, he acted right away.
"I'm coming. Don't hang up. I'll be there in a minute."
Before he could even finish his sentence, Jace already teleported straight to Aileen's doorway.
"I'm coming in."
He added while they were still on the call but it seemed that Aileen did not hear his next words anymore. She was too terrified to even process properly what was happening around her.
