"I would have come to you if you had wanted to see me, my queen," Eireen said, slowly turning towards Scarlet, her head lowered and her voice barely above a whisper.
Scarlet glanced at Eireen from the corner of her eye, sensing her discomfort because of her presence. She wanted to be alone; and the tension in her posture and the tone of her voice made it clear.
Scarlet had a hunch about the reason behind Eireen's discomfort, but that was all--- a hunch. She hasn't tried clarifying things with Eireen yet. But from the looks of it, Eireen wasn't willing to talk.
"You didn't come to see me when you woke up," she said, eyes trained intently on Eireen. "Why?" she asked. Scarlet was genuinely worried. Truth be told, she expected to see Eireen the moment she gained consciousness, but Eireen didn't come to see her. Scarlet couldn't help but wonder if Eireen was intentionally avoiding her.
