Chapter 20 - 20. Is this a Date?

The meeting in the literature club didn't take that long. The school head only tasked some of them, especially the higher year students to make a schedule for a tutoring for the first year students.

Jay was thankful that he will not participate in the tutoring. Amethyst Reyes, their president only instructed him to help in cleaning the club room next week.

Jay had no problems with it. It's just cleaning after all, and besides all the first years of the club will be the one to clean the next Monday. This include him, Crystal, Seckie, and Charlene.

After that short discussion, they all parted ways with each other.

Jay just headed out from the school gate when a female voice called out his name.

Rose Sachiko, the Vice president.

"Oh it's Ms. Rose. What is it?" Jay tried to be polite.

"Well, did you bring with you your service?"

"Yeah, why?"

"My mom called me that we will have visitors tomorrow at our house, and she told me to go shopping today to prepare. I want to ask you if you could accompany me to the marketplace, and take me home afterwards?"

Jay pondered for a bit. He doesn't have anything to do actually, and helping this Half-Japanese girl isn't that bad, he will just help her and that's all.

If Bren knew what he is thinking, then he may think that Jay is a slow guy.

"Okay. I'm not that busy after all".

"Really?" Hearing Jay agree made Rose happy and thanked him while bowing to him for at least three times. Seeing this made Jay awkward.

'Japanese culture eh?'

As they are about to go, Jay saw some of his male classmates looking at him with surprised expressions.

'Better leave now or else they will gang up on me'.

If Rose can hear his thoughts, then she will just laugh it off.

"Hey Rose, I'll just stop a bit at home to leave my bag and change my clothes. Is that alright?"

"Sure, no problem."

Jay directed his service at a place where only a few lives. Seeing this place with lots of trees and few houses and with clean surroundings made Rose inhale heavily while closing her eyes.

"This place is nice."

They stopped in front of their house and Jay entered immediately.

He out down his bag and went inside his room to get changed. He removed his uniforms and then proceed to find a set of clothes. Thinking of Rose, he actually can't decide what to wear.

"Wait, why am I even trying hard to pick what to wear?" Jay came to sudden realization!

"It's not like we're going on a date right?"

"Yes, I'll just accompany her, that's all."

He only had wore a short pant and a t-shirt, then went out.

They then went to the marketplace and Jay once again met the noisiness of the place. It took them half an hour to go around the marketplace while Jay offered his help to hold some of the bags.

"Since there is still time left, let's go and eat. It's my treat", Rose said to Jay after the shopping. Jay blanked out for a moment.

Him being invited by a girl for a meal is a very strange thing for him that he doesn't know what to say.

Rose saw his expression and laughed.

"Don't worry, it's just I want to thank you for helping me this time."

Jay just nodded and forced a decent smile.

"If that's what you say then I'll happily agree."

They went to a restaurant and both ordered their meals.

While waiting for their orders, Rose told him a bit about herself and her family.

When their orders arrived, they began eating.

Jay then asked himself, 'Can this be considered a date?'

Three hours before.

Tyson dared to confess to Crystal after school. The result? Crystal rejected him with a nice attitude. She truly didn't like the guy at all.

This made Tyson feel dejected. But he can't do anything about it but to accept it. Although he wants to pursue her, the girl seems to no ordinary girl also.

This news spread to everyone the next day.

Bren felt happy that he persuaded Jay to celebrate what happened.

Jay clearly can't understand how Bren's mind is working.
