Chapter 21 - 21. New Mission

Jay kept on grumbling since he was awakened by his phone ringing nonstop in the middle of the night.

Jay saw that it is Xander.

"If it's not something important then be prepared for a real beating", Jay said in a cold tone.

Hearing him speak like that, Xander just laughed it off and told him the news.

"We have a new mission. We need to finish it quickly. Come here now, Natalie and Mark just arrived here."

Jay almost had the urge to shout. Mission?!

"Then why don't you wait for tomorrow to tell us? Is it that urgent?"

"You have still class tomorrow. I'm sure it will be easy for you. Come here immediately."

Jay then went to the kitchen and drank a bottle of soda. Even if his body is strong, a lack of sleep will still affect his body. Jay complained inwardly, but he will just participate in the mission, and had it be quickly finished. His savings are also depleting, he needs cash. He hoped that the reward for this mission will be bountiful. He prepared himself and wore his suit.

Just after he entered the dark zone and stepped foot in the deeper part, he sensed a dagger thrown his way. Throwing a dagger to him means that the other party is just testing him. If the other party wants to eliminate him, then instead of a dagger, it will be a bullet. But just shooting someone who entered the deeper parts of the dark zone may bring the other party a trouble, especially that he is someone from Scar.

Jay was enraged and caught the dagger with his left hand. As soon as he got hold of it, he made a 180 degree turn and threw back the dagger at a certain part of the dark building in front of him.

The man in the building didn't even expect it and the dagger went past between his chin and shoulder, leaving a slight injury on his neck. He became terrified. The other party is clearly stronger than him. Well, even if it's like that, Jay doesn't want to kill the other party, since they are just testing each other. People who dare enter the deeper parts of the dark zone aren't ordinary fighters.

With that, Jay continued his journey to the mansion.

"Master, that person is terrifying", the other person besides the man who threw the dagger spoke.

"Yeah, that person is surely from Scar, basing from that unique suit, but it's a pity I don't know the person's identity", the man replied and looked towards the dagger, which was stuck firmly on to the hard wall.

'Strong'. The man shivered. He had just seen two others who are members of Scar earlier, and now he had seen another one. Do they have plans? The other two the man had seen are Natalie and Mark, the third was of course, Jay.

"Listen, the chief of police of Rubando had a mission for us. He wants to raid a certain small group's base called Friendship group due to them selling drugs to the citizens. The group even went as far to abduct women, the situation threatened the citizens, so the police decided to act. The problem is he doesn't have enough evidences, so he wants us to go collect some. The three of you will go now and make sure to finish it before dawn", Xander briefly told them the mission.

"That Clark Hoya sure is cunning. He doesn't even asks help from the higher ups?" Mark asked.

"He probably had his reasons", Xander responded.

"He maybe wants to do it without their help to gain promotion in the near future", Jay said his opinion.

They spent an hour to plan their mission and set out to the outer part of the dark zone.

It took the three of them to only finish their task in an hour. The base of the so-called Friendship group is not that big and is even at the outer part of the dark zone. Sneaking was even easy as the place was not heavily guarded.

They took some voice recordings and pictures from the place and the illegal actions of those people.

The only one who met such unnecessary event is Jay. He cursed his bad luck.

It was because he stumbled upon a room and saw something he doesn't want to see. The moanings and groanings irritated Jay that he was forced to find another hiding place. Even so, he took a photo of the scene.

Jay even had to focus on the camera as not to make the photo blurred.

They returned back to the mansion in a different route with no one noticing them.

"Good job." Xander inspected the evidences and sent it to Clark. This naturally made him owe Clark a favor.
