Chapter 47 - We Are Not Supposed To See Each Other Every Single Day.

"Oh, but it's very normal. We are just neighbors. We are not supposed to see each other every single day. Moreover, both of us are working people which makes it more normal." Mian replied, letting her gaze rest on Mu Yuhaan, whose coal-black eyes were kissed with warmth.

Why were this man's eyes so damn attractive? They were having a black hole type effect on her! This pair of eyes were definitely the most beautiful eyes she had ever seen, but there was something else in it. But what?

A novel feeling of unease spread into Mu Yuhaan; his air tensed. He couldn't help but tighten his jaw hearing Mian's nonchalance for him, and his gaze flared. "Since none of us can quit our jobs and be together all time, one surefire way to combat that issue is our free time. I want to see you every single day and for that to happen you have to spend our free time together with me." He tightened his hold on her, and his voice was firm as if it was not a request but a command.

Mu Yuhaan wasn't the one to shy away from his needs and wishes. Moreover, he was unable to shake off the possessiveness, running in his blood, and ended up baring it to Mian.

Hearing Mu Yuhaan's bossy tone, Mian immediately got back to her senses, this time fully. She squirmed out of his lingering hold on her back, pushing him backwards, then completely breaking free from his embrace.

Mu Yuhaan's tone of voice was so domineering, it sounded like a chain of captivity, which would cage her forever in a dark nest.

Being an egalitarian, highly educated and independent woman, it was disagreeable for Mian to surrender to a man's lead. Submissiveness was not something she would ever romanticize, neither could she walk ahead on the leash held by Mu Yuhaan!

Out of instinct, she said, "And what if I disagree?" Let me remind you Mr. Mu, you are just a neighbor for me; and about my free time? I will spend it with whomever I want. It doesn't have to be you all time. Now if you have nothing else, bye." She shut the door in front of Mu Yuhaan's face.

One thing Mian hated most was being bossed around.

Just Neighbours? She would spend her free time with anyone you wanted? It wouldn't have to be him?

Mu Yuhaan clenched his fists so tightly that all the veins of his hands popped out. This was the first time someone dared to shut the door on his face, yet the problem was, It was none but Mian!

For himself, Mu Yuhaan created a fiendish working routine, which started from seven in the morning and ended at one at midnight. With his efficiency, adding the time given to his work, it was absolutely justifying how Mu Empire topped Asia, and passed two-third of the way to reach the world's peak in span of just six years.

However, as he had been returning home much earlier than before for the past two days, naturally he had many pent-up documents to work on.

Last night, he had to work the entire night, without a moment's sleep to catch up to the date; and the night before that, he only slept for two hours. Above that, he rushed back from America after a week long business trip the day before yesterday, got Zhang Residential without even taking the time to eat, just to take a glance at her, knowing Mian would be moving on that day.

All-inclusive, Mu Yuhaan was burnt out. There was a sheen of obvious enervation on his face, yet he evaded sleep, forced himself to hold up and come to the gymnasium at six to see her. He did wait there for two hours. Not only did she not show up there, but humiliated him on face!

'Mian! Very soon, you will have a change of mind, and that's my promise to you!'

Mu Yuhaan made up his mind with a glint of smirk, in which anger was lurking cunningly.

When Mian went to the kitchen to make a cup of coffee for herself, Nina came out of her room rubbing her eyes, and yawing. "Whom were you talking to, Mian? Why did you sound so angry?" Sleepiness hadn't left her fully yet, thus, she muttered rather in an obscure voice.

Like Mian, she was spared from her chock-a-block work schedule just for once that morning; so she slept in. It was the ceaseless sound of something ringing annoyingly, the doorbell to be specific, that pulled her out of the rare peaceful sleep.

"Good morning to you too!" Mian said, without turning around. She was stirring the coffee in her pink mug, "And to answer your question, he is my neighbor."

The Sun peered over a neighborhood building, lending some of its morning rays full of warmth and coziness to the small kitchen in return of little gratitude.

Nina dragged herself over beside the window; she sat on the kitchen counter for taking Vitamin D, then asked, "How did he piss you off?" Her voice still possessed a bit of sluggishness, but much clearer than before.

Mian gave Nina her coffee, then proceeded to make another cup for herself, before saying, "Well, he wants me to spend my free time only with him." She put pressure on the word 'only'.

"What? What about us? We are the family, who love you so much, and have been with you for your whole life. You just met him two days ago and he already wants to monopolize you? Don't you think he is behaving like those white lotus wives, who separate their husbands from their parents just the day after their marriage?" Nina exaggerated dramatically with amusement; she actually found it hilarious.

Mian simply shook her head in Nina's Joke. However, 'monopolize' this word didn't sit well with her.

Nina picked up her coffee mug, and took a sip from it, its refreshing fragrance and mind-blowing taste chasing away all her sleepiness. "How does he look, by the way?" She questioned, wiggling her eyebrows at Mian.

Well, she just copied it from the famous detective from her time-tested favourite daily soap opera.
