"I was looking at your clothes." Mu Yuhaan smiled and replied honestly. By the normalcy in his tonation, he seemed to reckon that Mian wouldn't be angry at him, and let him do this exciting and enjoyable thing again in future.
Handsomeness, Mu Yuhaan was born with, but the addition was the rare sight of high spiritedness on his signature cold face, which was like an oasis in the Sahara desert.
Appalled, Mian's heart nearly flip-flopped at the probability of Mu Yuhaan, a random guy, barging in her personal space again!
She glanced outside with extremely cryptic eyes for a second, then set her gaze back on Mu Yuhaan.
"Why the hell on earth, would you do that?" Mian didn't sound angry at all when she asked this question to Mu Yuhaan. Well, getting furious at a cheeky person, always would be at the expense of her health. However, she couldn't help but to begin putting form to her thoughts.
Why would such a big man go through her cupboard?! He must have had a malicious intention, right? Did he want to steal something? Thieves, nowadays, were very violent though!
Newsreaders' warnings about the recent violent robberies hit the road, and start returning to Mian.
Instinctively, she stared looking for a flower vase around the room, which might come handy at any time. This instinct was a subconscious 'kick in' of her self defense.
Mian's brother got her and Nina admitted in self-defence classes, and made them practise literally every day in that art, so that they would be able to get the upper hand over anyone with evil intention, in case situation called for it.
Those lessons taught them some tricks to immobilize the attackers easily and let them be in a state of paralysis for some time.
This was the reason, Mian was cool enough to let a complete stranger come to her place.
If things were to take any ugly turn, she could rise in self-defence and send a forceful thrust with her foot on the hooligan's groin.
Nonetheless, little did Mian know, the man standing before her was a Kung Fu Master, who could alone defeat 500 professional fighters at the same time.
Mu Yuhaan smiled brightly at Mian like the Sun, as though he was scarcely able to contain his thoughts. "When you invited me to your apartment this morning, I instantly figured out that you are a broad minded person. So, you wouldn't mind me seeing your stuff. That's why I was going through your clothes." There wasn't a slight bit of fear on his face.
Greatly taken aback, Mian could only stare wide-eyed at Mu Yuhaan open-mouthed.
For a while, she didn't know what to say, or maybe she had so much to say that she just couldn't find where to start with first.
When did she invite him here?! Well, he had an amazing sense of humour, and a lot of cheekiness to go with it!
It took Mian exactly half a minute to recover from the gobsmacked state. "Don't dramatise things. Let me ask you a few questions, just answer me with yes or no, okay?" She said in a no-nonsense tone.
Mu Yuhaan nodded, his curious gaze strolling over her face with patience.
"Are we friends?" Mian asked sternly like a Dean of High School. Her brown eyes darkened enough to radiate a glittering aura.
"No, but we can be if you-"
Before Mu Yuhaan could finish, he was stopped by Mian's hand which indicated him to stop.
Albeit, the sentence was abandoned in the midway, Mu Yuhaan's demeanour evidenced how determined he was about turning their 'potential relationship' into reality and how much he would be taking from Mian in the future.
"Are we family?"
Mu Yuhaan's throat tightened, a dark look crossing his features. The adoration and fondness in his eyes was about to get clouded with anger. However, he couldn't blow the gaff on his plan, not yet!
"No."
'We will definitely be family very soon, Mian.' Although, Mu Yuhaan replied to Mian in negative, his thought was exact opposite. Destiny had been birthed, the day his eyes fell on her! So what if the fact that she would belong to him forever hadn't entered her brain yet? It was him, who would spin the wheel of fate!
"Then how is it considered narrow minded, when you don't like strangers checking your cupboard?" Mian raised her eyebrows at him, as her voice raised an octave.
"Hum, you have got a point there." Mu Yuhaan gave her an understanding look and nodded as he lowered his frame to the bed again in a wink of light.
He took the pillow, and hugged it with both of his hands, as though he was pondering over something very seriously.
Mian glanced down sharply; but the fact, Mu Yuhaan was using her bed as he wished, passed as overlooked, or rather inconspicuous because of the naive look in his black eyes. Well, Mian expected Mu Yuhaan to be shamed speechless, but he only regarded the matter precisely for a few moments.
Mu Yuhaan suddenly looked at Mian with a very bright pair of eyes, and a big smile on his face. It appeared that he had just figured out something very important. "How about we spend more time together, so that we can get to know eachother better?" He proposed, the tiny dimples teased the corner of his lips.
"No way!" Mian replied in a forthright manner. "This one time is more than enough for me, and there is no need for me to know anything more about you, Mr. Mu." Her refusal was notably point blank.
However, Mian drifted off in a second thought soon after. Her earlier fear might be an overemphasized conception of current thieves' hostility and maybe, all stealers shouldn't be painted with the same brush.
This one seemed a bit friendly.
"I will be good to you," Mu Yuhaan aimed his puppy eyes at Mian, cuteness sprinkled over his puckered lips. It was cute in a charming way, but not overdramatized at all.
His expectant look suggested, if Mian refused, he would cry at the very next moment.
"Mr. Mu, I'm-" Mian became a tad confused in her talk, looking at Mu Yuhaan; and forgot whatever she was about to say.
'Why is this full grown up man acting so cute?! He is behaving like a five years old kiddo!'
In her befuddled state of mind, Mian concentrated on Mu Yuhaan's expressive eyes, which prevented her from being strict with him. As if, something in his deep black eyes compelled her to give in to him.
Suddenly, realization paralyzed Mian for a long moment, with it another flash of bewilderment. She couldn't help but space out for a while.
