Chereads / A Letter from Mr. Grim / Chapter 6 - Lovely Angel

Chapter 6 - Lovely Angel

Pauline was distracted from the noise surrounding her. She slowly opened her eyes and saw a white ceiling. She frowned. Where am I?

"Shin Woo, she's awake now," she heard someone said.

Shin Woo immediately attended her. "Are you okay, Pauline?"

She pushed herself up and Shin Woo instantly helped her. "Do I look okay to you?"

She heard someone laughed. "Savage."

Pauline turned and saw Ryeo Tan leaning against the wall. She glared.

Shin Woo just pouted. "I'm just worried about you. You're so harsh."

"What happened?" she asked them.

Ryeo Tan walked over to her, his face serious. "Bin Young saw you unconscious in the rooftop so he immediately called us and attended you to the nearest hospital."

"The doctor said that you had a massive attack of migraine. He advises that you should rest for a couple of days. Stress and pressure was the primary reason of your attack," Shin Woo explained and then glared at her. "Why didn't you tell me you had a migraine?"

"You didn't ask," she simply said.

He scoffed at her in disbelief. "Ha! This girl..."

Ryeo Tan blamed him. "You pressured her on submitting reports for you. You're the primary suspect why she landed here."

"Because she didn't tell me!"

"You should have asked her."

"I – "

"Stop, both of you. You're making my head ache again."

They both stopped arguing like pupils caught cheating on exam.

Shin Woo looked at her with serious eyes. "I'll be giving you a two weeks leave. I don't want you to pressure and get stress because of our work. Go abroad and unwind yourself. Don't worry, the company will still run without you. Your subordinates will take over your work."

She shook her head. "No. Make it one week."

Shin Woo protested but Ryeo Tan stopped him.

"You know her. You can't stop her."

Shin Woo just sighed. "Fine."

Pauline smiled at them. "Thanks."

His eyes softened and patted her head. "You don't have to confine yourself in the problems, Pauline. You're our Dongsaeng. You should tell us your worries especially me. I feel like the most horrible boss in the world, letting the employees failed because of me."

Pauline looked at him with sympathy. She was not accustomed seeing her boss down. She saw him as an anchor, a happy boss trying his best to make his people worked happily. Sometimes, she complained of his demanding orders but she knew that the heavy loads were always on him. The big pressure was on him especially now that ASUS would be launching another album and other bands in their premise. So, Pauline decided to hide her worries on her own so she could help Shin Woo of getting LV Entertainment stayed on high.

Ryeo Tan spanked his head. "Stop being dramatic, CEO Yoon. It doesn't suit you."

Despite the heavy feeling, she laughed. "Thank you, daddies."

They stayed for a couple of minutes and they bid her goodbye. Now, she was alone in the private room. Her thoughts drifted at the rooftop and the letter.

The letter!

She hastily searched everywhere to find the letter but she didn't see anything.

"Is this what you're looking for?"

Pauline jumped at the voice and saw a nurse with a pushcart behind her. Her hand was holding a paper in front of her. Pauline slowly took the paper and opened it. It was the same letter that he gave her a while ago.

"Thank you."

I hate you, Mr. Grim, she thought bitterly.

The nurse positioned her to sit properly and laid her the tray of food on her lap. When the nurse was done arranging her food, she smiled and mouthed thanks to her. She could hear her tummy began to churn so she opened the bowl. It was a creamy corn soup. It was exactly her favorite soup. She began to scoop the soup to her mouth and tasted it. It was heaven. As she savored all the contents of the bowl, she froze.

Hospital meals won't cook and serve this kind of food. It's always been stew they served to their patients, she thought suspiciously.

She looked at the bowl, eyeing it curiously. She saw something under the bowl. Pauline lifted it and saw the same paper she had a while ago.

She scoffed in disbelief. What the hell do you want from me?

She gently opened the paper and read it.

Dear Miss Pauline,

Are you alright, my cherie? :(

I've heard that you collapsed at the rooftop.

I wish I was there to take good care of you.

But I can't because I don't have the guts to face you yet.

I'm not yet ready because I'm too damn scared of what your reaction will be.

You're in heaven and I'm in earth.

You're an angel and I'm just a mere servant.

But I prepared something for my angel. This corn soup that will ease your worries with love.

Get well soon, my lovely angel.

Mr. Grim

After reading his letter, tears flowed from her eyes and she didn't know why.
