Ariel stood before Lucas and Shay. "I am Ariel, a Celestial. I'm the Guardian of this area which means I'm responsible for keeping demons away from here. That's where you two come in. You two and Quint will be my demon hunters. I've brought forth your powers to aid you in fighting the demons, " stated Ariel.
"This is a little much for me right now, " replied Shay.
Lucas jumped for joy! "Yeah! I got powers! Now our fights will be even better!" shouted Lucas.
"At least one of you is ok with this, " said Ariel.
"I guess I don't have an option but to help killing demons, " said Shay.
"Shay, you seem to be a water elementalist, try to utilize it to heal your arm and Lucas wounds," said Ariel. Shay created a ball of water and placed it onto her broken arm. The water was mixed with some of her energy and mended her bones back together and healed all of Lucas' wounds. "That's a rare ability. The healing was almost instant. I can't believe that this city possesses fighters of this caliber," thought Ariel. "Shay and Lucas, I will meet you tomorrow with Quint and give you all a full explanation of what's going on," announced Ariel. She then drifted into the sky and disappeared. Lucas and Shay went back to their respective houses.
The next day, instead of going to school, Quint, Shay, and Lucas meet at the city park. The park was located in the middle of the city. This park was full of playground areas for toddlers and an open area for sitting, playing, or a stage could be set up for entertainment. The park is always full of life and energy.
"Did you guys tell her where to meet us?" asked Quint.
"No, I figured that she followed us, " answered Shay.
"We probably should have told her where we were going to be," said Lucas. He then looked at Quint and said "Let's test our powers against each other."
"Not right now, she's here," replied Quint.
Ariel landed in front of them. "I'll create a barrier so we can speak freely and no one will be able to see or hear us, " said Ariel. She lifted her hands and sent a wave of energy around them, creating a barrier. "First of all, you need to understand that this is not the only plane of existence. There are several others, but I'll just be telling you about Soul World and Demon World. Centuries ago, demons and humans inhabited the Earth. Demons ravaged the humans, devouring them to the point of near extinction. The demons had discovered that eating humans would enhance their own strength. It was the human spirit energy that they were after. Once the Celestials discovered what was going on, we banished the demons from Earth and locked them in their own plane. Now lower-class demons sneak through the barriers and try feeding on humans. That's where you all will come in. It's our duty to stop each one that breaks through, " explained Ariel.
"I understand, " said Quint with resolve.
"That's horrible!" said Shay.
"Let's see who can kill the most demons, Quint!" said Lucas.
"Do not make light of the situation. The demons that you fight already are low class. There are demons that can come here and destroy the earth. But that's not why we're here. Four days from now, a demon named Jin will arrive here. I need you three to have your powers under control by then. Train yourselves and be ready, Jin may not be alone," explained Ariel.
"I have one question, why us? Why give this responsibility to us?" questioned Shay.
"I can not answer your question right now, but soon, I will be able to tell you everything, " responded Ariel as she flew away dispelling the barrier. "I hope they can protect this city," thought Ariel.
"This is so surreal. I guess training is our best bet. We already know how to fight, so we should train in controlling our spirit energy and new abilities," suggested Shay.
"I agree, but how do we do that? " asked Lucas.
"We keep using spirit energy. It's just like training your muscles, " replied Quint.
"Ok, so like this?" asked Lucas as he smashed his fist to the ground causing a column of Earth to raise behind Quint. "Our fight starts now," said Lucas.
"Not here, Lucas. We can fight at the dojo. Look at all of these people staring at you. We have to keep our powers secret. Let's go, " said Quint. They all went back to the dojo.
When they got there, Quint and Lucas immediately started combatting. Lucas threw the first punch. His hands were covered with rock and connected with Quint's jaw. Quint immediately retaliated with a knee to the gut. He followed up with a low sweeping kick, knocking Lucas off balance. "Fire Punch! " yelled Quint. Quint tried to take advantage of Lucas while he was off balance and finish him off in one shot but, Lucas quickly regained his balanced and disappeared from Quint's sight. Lucas has always been faster than Quint. This always provided him with a serious advantage. Lucas reappeared across the room, stretching and said "That was a good warm-up. It's time to get serious."
"I agree with that," nodded Quint.
The two fighters powered up to the max. "I can feel their power, it's incredible," thought Shay. "I'm covered in flames, but it doesn't burn. Is this my power? " thought Quint.
" I have an idea, " thought Lucas. Lucas closed his fist and became enclosed with rock, "Rock Armor!" shouted Lucas. "Not gonna lie, Lucas, that looks pretty cool," said Quint with a smile and look of determination.
"I got something for you too!" said Quint. Quint raised his hand and started sending fiery energy to it. A ball of fire and spirit energy was being grasped by his hand. "I call this Hakugun!" Quint fired his attack while Lucas charged at him. The attacks collided creating a small explosion blowing both Lucas and Quint back against the walls on the opposite side of the dojo knocking them unconscious. "Well, I learned one thing. Those two are stupid. What did they think would happen when that much energy collides?" thought Shay.
